Chris' P.O.V.:

"Where did Amber go?" Ryan asked me as he came out of the clinic followed by Jade, Oliver and Elsa.

"She left." I said, without any emotions as I kept looking in the direction where she went.

"Did you talk to her?" Oliver asked.

"She doesn't want to listen to anything." I told them.

"Why would she listen to you now, Chris?" We all turned to look at Mark who was standing in front of us, by the clinic's door.

"...after what you've done to her, you no longer deserve anything from her." no matter how bitter his words were and how much his words were infuriating me, but they were true. I shouldn't expect anything from her after what I did to her.

"Mark, please don't infuriate Chris. You are unnecessarily taking a dig at him." Oliver said as he came and stood in between us.

"I am just saying the truth." Mark replied.

"You're right, Mark." Elsa took Mark's side.

"Elsa, are you taking his side?" Oliver asked, in shock.

"I am just taking the side of the truth." she replied as she looked and smiled at Mark.

"Babe!" Elsa ignored her boyfriend and started talking to Mark.

"Mark, I am on your team. I think that Amber deserves a guy like you. You are handsome, kind, funny and rich. And, you know how to value a person unlike few people." she said the last part looking at me, distastefully. I rolled my eyes.

"That's really sweet of you, Elsa. I am glad that you're on my team and I won't let you down. I will treasure your friend like a gem if she accepts my feelings for her." he replied, looking at me with an irritating smirk on his face.

"Shut up, Austin if you don't want to get punched again." I said, furiously. His each and every words were adding fuel to my anger.

"It's not my fault that you fucked up the chance that you had with Amber. You lost a gem like woman because you couldn't give her the trust and respect that she deserves so I would recommend you to stay out of her life now. She has moved on and you should too. Don't block the traffic to her heart." he said.

What the heck?

What does he think of himself? She is my girlfriend and what the hell is meant by 'traffic to her heart'?

No one is allowed to even come close to her...entering into her heart is a very far star.

"You cannot be more true, Mark. I am glad that I am on 'Team Mark'. My best wishes are with you." Elsa replied, looking at him, dreamily.

"Mine too!" Jade replied as she walked and stood beside, Mark.

"With the support of you ladies, I am more confident that Amber's gonna accept my feelings for her." he said as he looked at the girls who were blushing like anything. On the other hand, my boys were all drenched in jealousy and were looking at Mark as if they would eat him alive.

"Babe..."

"Jade..."

"Oliver and Ryan said simultaneously.

"What?" the girls asked irritated.

"We were here for Chris remember? Not for him." Ryan said as he looked at Mark, with aversion.

"You guys were here for Chris. We came here to meet Amber. We never said that we were in Chris' support." Jade said.

"True!" Elsa added.

"But..."Oliver was cut off in the middle.

"No buts, Oliver. It's late and your friend has succeeded at hurting my friend yet again, tonight. We are going to her. And please, don't follow us there. She needs some peace." Elsa said, as she held Jade's hand and they both went to see Amber, led by Mark.

I wanted to go and meet her, but Elsa is right, she needs some time. So, I held myself back and stood there.

"Brother, don't worry. We are on your team and we will win." Oliver said, determined.

"Yes, buddy. Amber will definitely be yours and this Mark guy doesn't even stand a chance." Ryan added.

*****

The Next Morning...

I was sitting on the couch and sipping my coffee, thinking about what should I do to earn Amber's trust and forgiveness.

I have literally screwed up, I need to think of something before that Mark Austin takes advantage of the situation and gets close to Amber.

Last night, I went back to the party and apologized to Mark's parents for creating the chaos and they were kind enough to forgive me almost immediately seeing my sincerity. They even asked me to stay at their resort for the weekend and we gladly accepted. Firstly, because I didn't want to disappoint them and secondly and most importantly because, Amber stays at the resort in the staff's quarter which is just a few meters away from my room where I am staying. The more close I will be of Amber, the more chance I will get to talk to her.

Elsa and Jade are staying with her in her room and I am really stressed about it because they are on 'Team Mark' and not on 'Team Chris' so the chances are high that they might try to manipulate Amber and put me on the bad side. That will be a negative point for me. But, I trust Amber. She's not the one to get influenced so easily. I know she loves me and nobody else can take my place in her heart.

I was lost in my thoughts when Oliver entered my room.

"Brother, that Mark is taking the girls out for skiing." he said, as he seemed short of breathe.

"Does 'girls' include my girl as well?" I asked as I stood up immediately.

"Unfortunately, yes!" he replied.

That bastard!

"We are going to skiing as well. Where's Ryan?" I asked as I put on my jacket.

"Ryan is trying to convince Jade to not go with him. And...as far as I know, you don't know how to ski. What are you gonna do there?" he asked.

He's right! I don't know how to ski.

What am I gonna do there?

Yeah, right!

"I am going to make sure that Mark doesn't get any chance with her. I don't want him to be anywhere near Amber." I replied.

"But..."

"No buts, Oliver! Follow me now." I said as I dragged him with me out of the room.

*****

"Mark, can you help me with the buckle of this helmet?" Elsa said as she walked towards Mark with her helmet.

"Yeah, sure." he replied as he started helping her with the helmet.

"I am gonna kill this guy!" Oliver said.

"Dude, calm down! It's just the helmet that he is helping with." Ryan said, casually as he put on his gloves.

"Mark, please help me as well. This buckle is really tight." Jade said as she walked towards him.

"The buckle isn't that tight, Jade." Ryan said, looking at the closeness between Mark and Jade.

It looked like that he was ready to kill Mark.

"Dude, calm down! It's just the helmet that he is helping with." Oliver mimicked Ryan's lines teasingly.

Ryan gave him a death glare. Oliver laughed at that.

Seriously, I have these two jokers on my team?

Please help me god!

I thought as I looked at them, being hopeless.

Thankfully, Amber seemed to be a pro at skiing as she was helping herself with all the things. She had wore a light pink skiing wear and was busy putting on her gloves and she looked super cute.

I smiled and suddenly an idea struck in my head. I thought of asking her to teach me skiing. It would be such an awesome experience. The thought of learning skiing from her was making me excited and I was grinning like an idiot. I walked towards her but before I could reach her, Mark went to her.

"Amber, stay by my side while skiing. It has snowed heavily last night so it could be a little tough to ski down the hill." he told her.

Mark, I am going to kill you!

"Yeah, sure!" she replied with a smile.

No ways!

I hurriedly walked towards them but before I could reach them, they had already started skiing.

I hurriedly put my legs into the skiing board and tried to move like everyone else were moving but I was left behind because I had no idea how to get started. But, I wasn't letting that Mark get close to Amber and I had to do it no matter what. I saw how other were moving and I tried to imitate and luckily, the board started sliding slowly. I used the ski poles to maintain my balance and moved forward.

"You can do this, Chris. It's easy! You can do this!" I said to myself.

I was moving slowly, and finally I was able to find the rest of the gang.
Amber and Mark were in the front most and were skiing really well.

I need to reach closer to where Amber is.

I increased my pace to reach near to her. I was sliding down the hill smoothly when my pace automatically increased and the speed was no more under my control. My snowboard seemed to be slipping on the snow down the hill and no matter how much I tried to control my speed by the help of the ski pole, my speed wasn't coming under control.

And suddenly, I saw that I was approaching Ryan and Oliver and they were just right in front of me.

"Go away! Get out of my way...I am unable to control my speed. Get away!" I shouted at the highest decibel possible to warn the boys.

"Oh my god, brother use the pole to slow down." Oliver said.

"Press the pole downwards." Ryan shouted.

"I ain't helping!" I shouted back.

The next in line skiing just in front of me were Elsa and Jade. I shouted again to warn them and make them get away from my way.

"Get out of the way!"

"Oh my god! Chris!" Elsa exclaimed.

"Chris, be careful!" Jade said.

"I am trying!" I replied as my speed seemed to be increasing even more.

I looked ahead of me and was sure that I would meet an accident now when I noticed that Amber had stopped right in front of me with her arms open.

"Amber, get out of my way! I am unable to slow down my speed. You'll get hurt." I shouted so that she would get out of my way but she didn't move even an inch and waited for at the spot.

"Amber, what are you doing? Get away or you'll get hurt. Please get out of my way..." I shouted again but she didn't move.

"Aaahhhh..." I finally bumped into her and we both fell down. I looked into Amber's beautiful eyes looking back at me before I blacked out.

Chris' P.O.V.:

"Chris, open your eyes."

"Chris..."

I could hear different voices calling my name.

I slowly opened my eyes and found myself in a well heated room, surrounded by Oliver, Elsa, Jade, Mark, Ryan who had stethoscope around his neck. I looked at my side and Amber was seated beside me with my hand in hers. I could see her eyes were red.

Was she crying?

For me?

"Thank god, you've regained your consciousness. " Oliver said.

"If you didn't know how to ski then why did you come for skiing?" Mark asked me.

To keep you away from My Amber, Jerk!

"Okay, now everyone please let us all go outside and let him have some air." Ryan said. Everyone nodded their head and left the room one after the other. Amber stood up and was about to leave as well when I held her hand and stopped her from going.

She turned around and looked at me with her red, swollen eyes.

Amber's P.O.V.:

"Were you crying?" He asked.

"No, I wasn't. " I replied, looking everywhere but him.

"You're lying. I can see you were crying." He said, with a smile on his face.

"Keep thinking whatever you want to think. I need to go. I have a lot of works to do." I made an excuse but clearly, he wasn't buying it.

"There's no use of lying, sweetheart." My heart skipped a beat when he called me 'sweetheart'.

Don't get affected, Amber!

Control yourself!

"I am not lying." I replied ignoring my rapidly beating heart.

"Fine. You're not lying. You weren't crying. But you did save me from the accident by risking your own life. Why did you do that?" He asked, raising his eye brows.

Because I still love you and I can't let anything happen to you.

"Uh...I didn't know what to do so in hasty, I did that first thing that came to my mind. Don't think other wise. I would have done this even if it was someone else in your place. " I said.

You obviously doesn't deserve to know that you are even more important than my life itself.

He nodded his head slowly and the smile was still there on his face which meant that he didn't buy this excuse of mine as well.

"You should take rest now. I will go out." I said.

"Please stay. " he asked.

"You should take rest." I said.

"Uh...I am feeling extremely cold. Can you give me something hot to drink?" He said.

"Are you really cold? But the heater is on." I said as I checked the heater's temperature.

"Yeah but I don't know...I am feeling really cold right now." He replied making a puppy face.

"Umm...okay wait. Let me make lemon tea for you." I said as I walked towards the small table where a kettle of hot water was placed. There were some green tea bags and lemons as well. I made the lemon tea and took the cup to him.

"It's so cold. My fingers are freezing. Please help me drink the tea." He said shivering as he put his hands inside the blanket.

Is it really that cold?

Anyhow, I sat beside him on the bed and helped him seat straight. I then slowly helped him drink the tea. I could feel his eyes on me all the time. My cheeks were getting hotter every passing second and I was sure that they were turning red as well.

Can't believe how much effect this man has on me.

"I broke the engagement with Deniz." He said suddenly.

I looked at him with wide eyes.

What? Why didn't Elsa and Jade tell me anything about it?

Maybe because I asked them to not talk to me about Chris.

I was shocked as hell but I composed myself and put a neutral expression on my face.

"It doesn't concern me, Mr. Collins." I said as I put the empty cup on the side table and started wiping his mouth with the napkin.

"I just wanted to tell you that, the engagement never meant anything at all. It wasn't a real engagement at the first place." He added as he continued looking into my eyes.

"Mr. Collins, your personal matters doesn't concern me. You are a guest at our resort and it's my duty to make sure that you are doing fine. So, don't think much about why I saved you from the accident today or anything else that I did for you. It's my duty. Now if you have no other requirements...then I should leave now. We will head back to the resort in half an hour so take some rest till then!" I said, in a very professional manner and then without waiting for her reply, I left the room.
