"Beta," Dr. Para sat and started to prepare the ultrasound machine. "How are you feeling?"

I looked down at my pregnant mate, waiting for her answer. "Tired, some back pain."

"Horrible food cravings," I added and Jade hit me while Dr. Para laughs at us.

"You've gained a lot of weight, some back pain is normal," she comments and I see Jade get upset. She had been sensitive about her weight lately, even after telling her multiple times that being pregnant with twins ment a lot of weight gain.

"Don't remind me," Jade growls before looking at the screen as Dr. Para begins the sonogram.

"And all your tests came back good," Dr. Para started to print off the photos and turned to us, smiling. "Do you want to know the genders?"

Jade starts to get excited and nods fervorusly. Her hand squeezes mine as we wait for Dr. Para's words. She hands us the photos.

"Congratulations, twin boys."

Jade looks lovingly at the ultrasound while I lean over her shoulder.

My boys.

After the appointment we made our way back home. I helped Jade up the stairs to the nursery. The walls needed to be painted but the cribs were already there. Jade ran her hand over the dark wood of the cribs as I started to tape the windows and floorboards for the paint.

"You know we can hire someone to paint," she raises her eyebrows at me.

I stand and walk over to Jade. She examines the cribs and I grab at her waist. My arms pull her close and I kiss her forehead. "I want to do this for my boys," I rest my hand on her growing tummy. "It's gonna be great, I promise."

"It better be," she threatens lightly. "I'll leave you be, I have pack work to do."

I kiss her one last time before she leaves the room. I tape out the stripes for one of the wall and open the grey paint.

I wiped my brow as my phone starts ringing. I slide the screen and put it on speaker as I finish the trimming of the room.

"Hey mamă," I answer the phone. "Or should I say bună."

Mom laughed, "When will I be expecting my grandchildren?"

"Nepoți," I say and I hear her gasp.

"Boys, more boys for our family!"

"Two beautiful, healthy baby boys," I answer. "Hey, Jade and I want to give them some Romanian family names, what was grandfather's middle name."

"My father is Peter Luca Nicolescu and his father was Marian Peter Nicolescu," she has to think over the names for a minute. "When can I come see you and Jade?"

"We planned on coming to see you and the siblings soon," I answer as I brush on paint in the edges of the stripes. "What was it like being pregnant with Maddi and I?"

"It is different when twins are identical, like your fii," she explains and I nod along. "You remember that I did pregnancy alone. I had no help from Lawrence, Jade has you and that is a great asset. As long as you are being good to her..."

"I am, mamă," I laugh at her warning tone. "I'm working on the nursery now."

She squeels, "I can't wait to see."

"Did you get super conscious of your weight when you were pregnant."

"Dragul meu," she sighs at me. "I was always conscious of my weight during and after pregnancy. It's normal for women. Jade is also warrior, she is used to having defined body, I understand the feelings."

"How do I make her feel better?" I never talked to my mom during the beginning of Jade and my relationship. I got to make up for lost time now and since Jade is pregnant she calls all the time.

"You are such a man," mom says and I roll my eyes. "You compliment her on everything but her appearance."

The door opens and Jade walks in to check on me. I mouth her the word 'mom' to her and she nods. She comes over by me and starts to sit beside me. I offer her my hand but she doesn't take it.

"Hey Elena," Jade says while smiling.

"Jade, dragostea mea, how are you feeling?"

"Good, I hope we to see you soon," she says.

"I hope so too," mom says and I grab Jade's hand.

I'm hungry. Jade mind links me and I nod.

"Ok, mamă. I have to go feed my starving mate," I smile at her and she sticks out her tongue at me.

"Goodbye, iubește."

I hung up the phone and helped Jade stand. We walked down the stairs and she sat at the bar while I started to prepare some chicken, beef, rice, and vegetables. Jade watched me as I started to cook dinner for her.

"Hey Mason..?"

"Yes baby?"

"Am I really that big?"

I cover the food and turn back to her. My hand reached for hers across the island, "Jade, you are smart, a hard worker, a great mate and Beta."

"Ok, but am I fat?"

"No!" I tell her for the uptenth time. "You are pregnant with twins. Some weight gain is normal."

"Will you still love me if I'm fat after I give birth?" she looks down and I realize this is actually hurting her. I thought before it was just some hormonal side effect. It's not, this is my Jade really hurting.

I walk around the island to stand in front of her, "I am not in love with your body. I'm in love with you, Jade." She took a deep breath and I tilted her chin up, kissing her lips. "I love you, my beautiful, brown haired mate."

She looks away from me and I kissed her forehead. I left her side to go stir the food. As I have my back turned to her I hear her whisper, "I love you too, my Big Bad Wolf."
