"Hollow! Hollow! Hollow!" Ichigo's badge yelled as he ran down the school halls. He had just managed to duck out of class with the lame excuse that he had to go to the bathroom. Rukia, Orihime, Chad, and Uryuu were right behind him.

Ichigo quickly rounded a corner to the staircase, and crashed into something, both tumbling down the steps. The Soul Reaper lay in a heap at the bottom of the stairs, dazed.

"Ichigo!" Orihime exclaimed, slowing down a bit. "Are you okay?"

"Leave him!" Rukia yelled as she continued to run with Chad and Uryuu. "He'll catch up!"

Ichigo muttered a few curses, detangling himself from the position he was in as his friends disappeared from sight.

"Owie..." a voice muttered. He looked over noticing the thing he had ran into was a fellow student. She propped herself up on an elbow, holding her head in the other. "Oi, what hit me?" she spoke out loud. Her eyes then landed on Ichigo. "Oh, sorry about that."

"It was my fault," the teen answered, standing. He then offered a hand to the girl.

She greatly took it, and Ichigo pulled her up. "Looked like you had somewhere important to go with how fast you were running." He then bent down, grabbing her shoulder bag.

"Uh, yeah... something like that," Ichigo answered, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "Sorry about running into you," he apologized, handing over the heavy bag.

"No problem. I won't keep you."

Ichigo gave her a small wave before running after his friends.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"About time!" Rukia yelled at Ichigo when he arrived.

"Shut up! You're the one that left me behind!" the Soul Reaper shouted back, slicing through a Hollow with ease.

"You should've been watching where you were running!"

Chad finished off the last Hollow. "Whatever," Ichigo muttered, jumping back into his body. "Are we done here?"

"Yes," Rukia huffed, getting back into her gigai.

"Who was that anyway?" Uryuu asked. "The girl you ran into?"

Ichigo thought about it. "Huh, don't know," he answered, "I never got her name..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ichigo ran down the streets towards Urahara's. He had just gotten a message saying that it was urgent that he came over right away. The teen was nearing the shop, coming to the last crosswalk, the light about to turn to 'walk'. Ichigo sped up so he could make it. Then it happened. One second he was running and the next he found himself on the ground again, blinking, looking up at the sky.

"What the hell?" he grumbled.

"Dang it..." a voice mumbled.

Ichigo sat up realizing the person he had run into had been the same girl from school. However, instead of being dressed in a school uniform she was wearing a light yellow sundress, making her curly, dark reddish-orange hair stand out even more. She sat up, eyes landing on Ichigo.

"Hey, it's you again!" she exclaimed, a small smile playing on her lips.

"S-Sorry!" Ichigo stuttered out, scrambling to his feet. He then helped the girl up, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment, once again.

"Let me guess, you're running to something important, right?" she asked, smile never wavering.

"Uh, yeah, something like that," Ichigo said again. "Sorry."

She laughed, holding out her hand. "The name's Kristy. Kristy Jameson."

"Ichigo Kurosaki," the teen introduced himself.

"I won't keep you again, Ichigo. I'll see you around."

Ichigo then watched as Kristy walked across the street and off into the distance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Hollow! Hollow! Hollow!"

"Damn it!" Ichigo yelled, running from class once again. "If I knew this thing was going to be such a pain in the ass I would've never accepted it in the first place!"

"Quit complaining!" Rukia snapped back. "As accepting that you are a Soul Reaper; you took on the duty of a normal Soul Reaper, even if you are only a substitute!"

Ichigo sighed in frustration as they cleared the stairs and ran towards the entrance doors. And once again, the teen found himself on the ground in a matter of seconds. "I'm going on without you!" Rukia yelled, disappearing.

"Shit..." Ichigo grumbled.

A lightly chuckle then reached his ears. "You know, Ichigo, we've got to stop meeting like this." Ichigo sat up in disbelief. He had run into Kristy... again!

"Jeez, I'm not meaning to," Ichigo sighed, getting up.

"I know you're not." She then began to gather the strewn books on the floor that she had dropped.

"Here, I'll help," Ichigo offered, bending down.

"No, it's okay. Besides, you looked like you were in a rush again."

"Sorry you're the one I keep running into."

"It's fine. Just go. I know you're needed elsewhere."

Ichigo handed her the book in his hand and stood. He turned to leave, but then turned back to Kristy. "How about I make it up to you?" he asked. Kristy looked up at him. "After school. There's a café down the street. My treat."

Kristy smiled, her grey-blue eyes glimmering. "Sounds like fun. I'll see you there."

Ichigo then rushed off after Rukia.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bell to the café rang as Ichigo stepped into the room. "Ichigo!" Kristy called from her spot. He weaved between the tables and chairs before finally sitting down across from Kristy.

"Hey, sorry I'm late," Ichigo apologized.

Kristy shook her head. "I just got here myself."

They ordered food and drinks and began a friendly conversation. "You go to Karakura High, but I never see you in class," Ichigo noted.

Kristy snickered. "Oh, I'm in your class, you're just too busy running off all the time with a lame excuse to go to the bathroom. Also, the teacher usually sends me on errands to run for her. I also always manage to slip into the room right before class starts so no one sees me anyway."

Ichigo's ears turned red in embarrassment. This girl had been in his class the entire time and he had never once noticed her. "Now I feel like a jerk..." the Soul Reaper grumbled, sipping his hot chocolate, and avoiding eye contact.

Kristy laughed lightly. "You're not the first one to not notice me. Don't feel bad. Usually people have to run into me to finally notice I'm there."

She laughed at her own joke, making Ichigo smile.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As time passed Ichigo and Kristy became close friends. He introduced her to his group of friends, and she was included in their activities. However, sometimes Ichigo regretted ever introducing her because Keigo and Mizuiro would constantly flirt with her. Also, Chizuru had taken a liking to her as well. Ichigo was constantly steering Kristy away to protect her form their perverted actions, and for personal reasons as well.

"Those idiots are getting on my nerves," the teen grumbled, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

It was winter now and everyone was bundled up in jackets, hats, scarves, and gloves trying to keep warm. Students were even bringing a change of clothes so they didn't freeze their butts off while walking home. Especially the girls since they wore skirts.

A blanket of snow covered the town, making it look like a winter wonderland. As Ichigo walked towards his house Kristy strolled right beside him, a black beanie hat on her head, and wrapped in a black jacket. She wore dark blue jeans to cover her legs and snow boots on her feet. She had her bare hands jammed into the pockets to try and keep them warm. Ichigo himself wore a jacket, gloves on his hands, and snow boots.

"They were really persistent today," Ichigo continued, talking about three idiots.

"Aw, they mean well," Kristy laughed. "I don't mind really."

"They've been in love with you since the first day I introduced you to them."

"I love them too," Kristy said with a smile on her face. Ichigo glanced over at her, but she was too busy looking up at the cloudy sky. "But I would never date them."

Ichigo cocked an eyebrow in interest. "Why not?"

Kristy shrugged. "They're not my type."

The teen didn't press the subject and looked away. As they came up to the intersection where they split up, Ichigo turned to say goodbye to Kristy when something was thrown over his head and rested against the back of his neck. Looking down, Ichigo realized that Kristy had thrown a scarf around him.

He looked down at the teen's pink cheeks and cheeky grin. "What this for?" Ichigo asked.

"Consider it an early Christmas present," Kristy answered, releasing the scarf. "I remember you telling me that you lost your old one when you ran off somewhere. So, I made you a new one."

"You made it?" Ichigo asked in disbelief, looking down at the item. It was a mixture of navy and light blue with white stripes.

"Yeah," Kristy answered. Ichigo noticed her cheeks heating up a little more. He could feel his doing the same.

"I have an early present for you too."

"Oh?" Kristy asked in wonder, cocking her head to the side cutely.

"Yeah," Ichigo answered, a smirk playing on his lips as he bent down. "I came up with it myself."

"Hmm..." the girl mused, looking the Soul Reaper in the eyes.

Ichigo continued to bend down till his lips lightly touched Kristy's. He drew away for a moment before going back in for more when he realized she wasn't going to turn away. Ichigo pulled his hands from his jacket pockets, hooking his finger in the loops of Kristy's jeans, pulling her closer to him. The girl pulled her hands from her own pockets as well, grabbing onto the front of Ichigo's jacket. They were so much warmer there compared to where they had been before.

When the two broke for air, the tips of their red noses touched. Smiling at each other, Ichigo pecked Kristy's lips again, taking her hand in his. "You know, there's this café right down the street," she spoke up.

"Oh really?" Ichigo asked, amusement in his voice.

Kristy's smile grew. "Yeah. This guy I know once took me there to pay me back for all the times he ran into me accidentally. Secretly I think he was doing it on purpose so he could get to know me."

He chuckled. "So did it work?"

"I ended up falling for him," Kristy answered with a smirk on her lips.

Ichigo then captured Kristy in another kiss as it began to snow.
