"Chise!" a childish voice rang out in the halls of the Ninth Division. "Chise! Chise! Chise! Chise!"
"Will you shut up?" Kensei roared back, sticking his head out the window to his office. The second Lieutenant had been yelling the name for the last half hour. No matter how far away she was he could still hear her!
"Kensei!" The young woman came into view, sliding to a halt before running towards him. "Have you seen Chise?" she shouted right in his face.
"No! Now will you shut up-!"
Someone tugged on the back of the man's collar, halting him mid-sentence. His head whipped around, ready to yell at the subordinate. "Jeez, where's the fire, Kensei? You're as red as Renji's hair."
"Chise!" Mashiro exclaimed, throwing her arms into the air in excitement.
"Hello, Mashiro. I was away on a mission, or did you forget?"
"Oh... oops!"
The man's head slowly turned on his Lieutenant, ready to rip her head off. "And the paperwork from this morning?"
"Oh! I forgot! I'll go deliver it now!" She turned, running off.
"You were supposed to deliver that three hours ago!" Kensei yelled, reaching out to try and ring her neck. However, Chise had a good hold on the uniform, holding him back. Shuuhei turned the corner at that moment, cocking a brow and looking through the open window.
"Again? It's only noon."
"Come on, Hisagi, ever since they came back it's been a daily routine. I almost missed it during the time they were gone."
The first Lieutenant smirked, shaking his head. "Things were a little hectic around here while you were gone."
"It was only a week." She looked back at the Captain still trying to chase after Mashiro. "Captain, we both know I won't let you go until you calm down. And I could do this all day."
Finally, he stopped, grumbling while crossing his arms. Chise grinned, going on her tiptoes and reaching up to pat the man on the top of the head. "Good boy."
"I'm not a child, Chise."
"Oh, I know that, big guy, but you can act like one thanks to Mashiro's ever contagious attitude." She grinned, bending slightly to look around his large frame, smiling up at him. "So, have you finished your paperwork?"
It was late, Chise leaning back as far as the chair would allow, stretching her arms high into the air. Her eyes wandered, finding the Captain hunched over his desk, finishing off the last of the work. The Third Seat rested her chin in her palm, elbow propped on the desk, watching him.
Before he turned into a Vizard, Chise was his Third Seat, and close friends to the Captain and Lieutenant. Kensei and her had grown up in the same District, went through the Academy together, were placed in the same Division, and rose in the rankings. With their sudden and mysterious disappearance, it was Chise who kept the Division together. She helped the Head Captain look for new candidates to fill the positions, and was even offered the role. However, she turned it down for unknown reasons.
Kensei finished, putting the last sheet of paper into the bin, and found Chise staring. "What?"
The young woman tapped the side of her cheek in thought. "You know, I think I preferred the look you sported before disappearing to the World of the Living."
Kensei cocked an eyebrow at the sudden statement. "And why is that?"
Chise grinned widely, hands clasping behind her head, leaning back. "Oh, no reason, Captain. I just don't like change." It wasn't hard to hear the clear amusement and teasing in that answer, making the Captain more curious.
"You're lying through your teeth."
"Only partly, but I'm not about to tell you the real reason." The Third Seat got up, cracking her back before heading for the office door. "Goodnight, Captain."
The door was only halfway open when it was slammed shut, a shadow casting over her figure. "Tell me the real reason you like my look one-hundred years ago," he whispered hotly in her ear. Chise turned around, his two arms grasping at the doorway to keep it from opening again, and caging her in.
"Hmm..." the young woman mused, a blush on her cheeks. "First off the hair." Her hands reached up ruffling it out of its gravity defying style, combing it over to form a bang in the front. "You looked more mysterious. The sleeve style hasn't changed. The belt I couldn't care about." Chise's hands then gripped at the front of his shihakusho and haori, pulling it open to expose a very well defined chest and stomach. She eyed the '69' tattoo over his abs, smirking.
The young woman glanced back up at him, startled. His eyes were dark, sending a shiver up her spine. A mischievous thought came to mind, a hand touching the exposed torso, head craning up and ghosting his jaw. "This I missed getting to look at every day."
Kensei's breath shook, head ducking low. His hands gripped at the frame tightly to try and control himself. When had Chise become such a tease? Towards him at least? Sure, they teased each other in the past about things, but this was on a whole other level.
"What the hell brought this on?" he finally managed out in a husky voice.
"I can't help it," Chise answered back. "What can I say? I wish I had done it sooner." His head turned in, their lips barely touching. "So, can I show you?"
"So me what?" the Captain asked, moving in closer, yet Chise pulled back to taunt him. She grinned, a tormented groan coming from his throat. "Chise..."
"How much I missed you."
Kensei lost control, pinning his body up against Chise's roughly, surprising the young woman. "Please do," he growled, biting at her neck.
The Third Seat grinned, tangling her fingers in his hair and bringing him into a passionate kiss.
