November 3rd, 1978

A sweaty Theodosia Morgenstern, a German Pureblood, laid on a hospital bed in St. Mungo's in labor. She had multiple healers in the room with her, as Sirius and his friends were in the hallway since she didn't want anyone in the delivery room.

The head healer was in front of Theodosia, encouraging her to push, "Big breath. Breathe. Breathe."

"Okay, here we go." A healer announced

"You're doing great. Hang on, hang on." The head healer said as he looked up from between her legs

The healer closest to Theodosia rubs her shoulder, "You're almost there."

The older witch nodded along "You're doing fine." She told the young woman

A minute went by and the next contraction started.

"You're doing fantastic. That's it. Breath, breath, breath! Doing great. You're doing great. Here you go. Keep going. Breathe, breathe. Take a deep breath. Okay big push, big push." The head healer instructed

As she pushed, Theodosia screamed. After what felt like a lifetime, the babe was born. She sighed in exhaustion and relief.

The head healer held up the baby for the woman to see, "It's a girl, Theodosia." He announced

The 20 year old looked at the wall, refusing to even look at her daughter, "Give her to Sirius Black, her father. She's all his." She told the healers, "I don't want her."

The healers in the room shared a look before they took away the baby girl to clean her up.

In the hallway of the St. Mungo's, Sirius Black, James and Lily Potter, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Marlene McKinnon sat around waiting.

Well, everyone sat while Sirius paced.

Sirius Orion Black III never imagined he would be a father. His own parents were terrible. Always screaming, beating or torturing him with the Cruciatus curse.

He never thought he would have children but still, he bowed to never be like Walburga and Orion Black.

Sure, he had Euphemia and Fleamont Potter to look up to but still, he never wanted to subject a child to the Black Madness.

"How am I supposed to do this?" The father to be worried

He was only 19 years old. 19 as of today when his baby was being born.

James got up and placed his hands on his brother's shoulders to stop his pacing, "You're not alone, Padfoot. You and Daisy have us. All of us."

The disowned Black took a deep breath in knowing his brother was right.

"Mr. Black?" The healer called, interrupting the two

The teenager turned, "Yes? Is my baby alright? Is Daisy okay?" He questioned worriedly

The healer nodded but had a strange look on her face, "You have a beautiful baby girl." She said, "Unfortunately, Lady Morgenstern informed us that she wanted nothing to do with the baby."

Everyone's face fell. Theodosia had never given them a reason to suspect that she was anything but happy about the baby and being with Sirius.

"Can I see my baby? Can we all see her?" The new father asked instead of dwelling on what the healer had said about Daisy

The healer nodded and gestured for the group to follow him. He led the six to the nursery. Another healer brought out a now clean babygirl Black and placed her in Sirius's waiting arms.

"You're so beautiful, my little star." Sirius cooed as he tried to think of the perfect name for her

Euphemia, after James's mother, the woman who took him in when he was 16? Perhaps.

Andromeda, after his favorite cousin? He did like the family tradition of naming the child after stars, constellations, moons and such.

Polaris? No.

Lyra?

Ara?

Vega?

Libra?

Hydra?

Vela?

Elara?

Carina?

Adhara?

Alula?

Aurora?

Sirius went through all the names of his family. Although, the only family member he would even consider naming his little girl after was Andromeda.

However, he felt like his daughter needed her own name. Not named after someone.

He did want to follow the astronomy tradition.

The baby cooed in his arms and finally opened her eyes.

James, Remus, Lily and Marlene moved closer as Peter hung back.

"Oh, she's beautiful." Lily fawned

Marlene snorted, "Maybe there is a God after all." She teased warmly

Sirius laughed, "She takes after me." He replied, "Don't you, my star?" He asked the baby

James wipes his eyes, "She has a hint of the devil in her eyes. She'll continue our Marauders legacy." He said proudly

Most everyone of the six snorted at the jest.

"What's her name, Padfoot?" Remus asked

The new father considered the question for a moment before he decided, "Vulpecula Urania Black."

(Sirius's 19th birthday would always be his favorite one, the one he would regard as the day his life began, for nothing was as precious to him as his little star, Vulpecula.)
