Akriti was only child of Priyank and Shama. She was just having her parents as her family. She was never aware about her extended family as Priyank and Shama did love marriage which was not accepted by Priyank's family and they disowned him. Later, Priyank and Shama started their new life with a new surname and a new city.

Kabir was eldest son of Shashank and Rekha. He loved his family very much but he admired his father, the most. At first, he chose medical field only for his father so that he can stay more close to him but later medicine became his passion and he aspire to become a cardiac surgeon. He had a girlfriend during his college time and he was in a serious relationship but out of a sudden her girlfriend Kiara Mathur broke up with him and shifted to the States to pursue her degree. After that, he never fell in love again, he didn't want to make himself weak so he focused on his goal and achieved it.

Akriti lost her parents two months ago in a car accident. She was devastated after their death. It took a month for her to recover from the remorse. Later, Akriti continued working in the hospital and spent most of the time in hospital only.

Priyank and Shashank were best friends at their college times and their friendship was still intact even though they get busier in their lives. Shashank decided to reunite with Priyank so he went Bangalore to meet him. But he was shocked on getting the news of his best friend 's death.

He can't leave Akriti alone there and thought to take her along with him. Akriti was a girl with self esteem, she never wanted to be dependent on someone, so she denied Shashank. But Shashank made her understood and she was ready but on the condition that she would live in a flat by paying rent and not in the Mehra's Mansion. He agreed and also asked her that she can join their hospital. Akriti doesn't want to take any favours but Shashank explained to her that he is not doing any favour, he sent her qualifications and experience certificate and management has selected her as the senior gynecologist.

Akriti moved to Mumbai and shifted to the flat on that day only. The next day she has to join Sarvodaya Medical Hospital.

The next morning at Mehra 's Mansion, everyone was gathered at the dining table for breakfast except Shashank as he went to look out things for Akriti in the hospital. Kabir came late yesterday as he stayed for the post- op of his one patient to check whether he was stable or not. He wanted to come home earlier to meet his father but his patient was more important at that time. He was excited to meet his father after a week so he woke up early and after getting ready he came for breakfast but he didn't find his father.

"Good morning Maa, Papa kidhar hai?" , Kabir asked.

[Good morning mother, where is dad?]

"Good morning, Kabir. Your father went to the hospital early . Today his friend 's daughter is going to join the hospital so he went to check the preparations." , Rekha replied.

Kabir nodded. For a moment, he just thought that since when his father started doing favours. He chuckled. Kabir was also a part of hospital management but the doctors were appointed by the other heads only. He completed his breakfast and left for the hospital.

In the hospital conference room, the heads , the specialists and board members were sitting including Kabir and Shashank. Shashank started introducing Akriti and all the members welcomed her. Kabir looked at Akriti with corner of his eyes. Throughout the meeting, Akriti impressed everyone with her confidence and expertise. Kabir observed her interactions with the other members, noting her professionalism but still somewhere he felt that she got the opportunity due to favour of his father and he can't shake off it. Soon the meeting came to an end and everyone congratulated Akriti. Slowly , all members were leaving the room. Now only Shashank, Akriti, Kabir and two more members were left.

Kabir was excited to meet his father after a week and he was going to approach him but seeing him conversing with Akriti irked him. He stayed at his place only. Shashank was a well known gynecologist and due to this he was unable to spend much time with his family while Kabir always craved for his love and care. Kabir was a bit protective and possessive for his family especially for his father. His father's attention towards Akriti stirred up feelings of neglect and jealousy that he had long suppressed.

Suppressing his thoughts, Kabir started talking with his other colleague. When he heard voice of his father.

"Hey, Kabir."

Kabir looked towards the direction and he stood up from his place and went near his father. He hugged him and greeted , "Good morning Papa [Dad] , how are you?"

"I am good. What about you?" , Shashank replied.

"I am also doing well Papa [Dad]. I was just busy with the surgeries . But it's good to have you back. I've been looking forward to catching up with you." , Kabir answered.

"I'm glad to be back, Kabir," Shashank replied, his voice filled with sincerity. "And I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with you. How about we plan something special for the weekend? Just the two of us?"

Kabir 's face lit up with excitement at the suggestion just like a small child who gets his chocolate."That sounds perfect, Papa," he exclaimed.

Shashank and Kabir exchanged glances for one more time and Shashank called out Akriti. She quickly went near them.

"Dr. Akriti, meet my son, Dr. Kabir Mehra. He is a cardiothoracic surgeon." , Shashank stated with pride.

Akriti smiled warmly as she extended her hand towards Kabir. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Kabir," she said graciously.

Kabir shook her hand, returning her smile. "Likewise, Dr. Akriti," he replied, his tone polite yet guarded. "Welcome to Sarvodaya."

"Thank you, Dr. Kabir.", she said, appreciating his gesture.

"I 'll take your leave Papa, I have an appointment at 10." Kabir informed his father and left the room.

As Kabir left the room, Shashank turned his attention back to Akriti, "Dr. Akriti, if you need anything or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask," he said kindly.

Akriti nodded.

Over the next few days, Akriti immersed herself in her work. She encountered Kabir occasionally in the hospital corridors or during medical rounds, their exchanges remaining polite but distant. One day, Kabir went to meet his father's cabin after a surgery and found Akriti there, explaining a case to Shashank. Kabir settled himself on the couch only. He was quietly watching her presentation and he liked her skill.

"Surgery ke liye abhi rehne dete hai so keep the patient on medications only." , Shashank concluded.

["We'll hold off on surgery for now and keep the patient on medications only,"]

"Okay, sir. I' ll take your leave now." , Akriti replied.

"Don't forget to take some rest, Beta.", Shashank said with a smile.

Akriti nodded and left his cabin.

Kabir was impressed by Akriti for the moment but the word 'Beta' from his father's mouth lingered in his mind. A tinge of jealousy was evident as his father didn't address any other person like this except his family. Kabir put a hold on his thoughts and started talking with his father.

It was Saturday and Rekha asked Shashank to invite Akriti for a dinner, to give her warmth of a family. Shashank agreed and invited her. It was evening, Kabir was driving back to Mehra's Mansion, a sense of joy was present with him as today he would get a good time with his father. But on reaching home, he was shocked to see the unexpected guest, Akriti. Akriti was engaged in conversation with his siblings. He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as he watched Akriti integrate herself into his family dynamic .

Rekha noticed Kabir and approached him with a warm smile. "Kabir, beta, you're back. Akriti is here for dinner. We invited her over to join us."

Kabir forced a polite smile and replied, "Yes, I can see that, maa ."

Rekha sensed some uneasiness in Kabir's voice but she let it go for now and gestured him to freshen up and join them for dinner. Kabir went to his room and soon he joined them for the dinner with a facade of smile as his mood was already spoiled. He was silently eating his food and giving only subtle answers on being asked. Meanwhile, seeing his own siblings Shivam and Kashish talking freely and enthusiastically with a stranger, was irking him. For a moment, Kabir was feeling like a outsider in his own family. Not being able to tolerate more, Kabir soon finished his food and excused himself from the dining table.

"Bhai ko kya ho gaya?" , Shivam asked on Kabir 's disappearance.
[What happened to Brother?]

"He must be tired, Shivam Bhai.", Kashish replied.

"Kabir was having back to back three surgeries today, it was tiring." , Shashank exclaimed to halt the lingering tension.

Everyone continued their dinner and soon Mehras bid bye to Akriti.

Rekha and Shashank were in their room, Shashank was lost in his thoughts and Rekha noticed it.

"Is everything alright, Shashank?" Rekha asked with a concern .

"I am having a feeling that there is something off with Kabir." , he replied.

"Even I too feel the same. Was it due to Akriti's arrival?" , she asked.

"But how is it related..." , Shashank stopped in the midway and remembered his promise to Kabir to spend some time with him on the weekend.

"Main Kabir se milkar aata hu.", he suddenly spoke and left the room.

[I am going to meet Kabir]

Shashank went to Kabir's room but the bed was empty so he went to the study room and found Kabir sipping alcohol.

"Kabir?"

Kabir looked at his direction. "Papa, aap yaha?" , he asked.
[Dad, you here?]

Shashank approached him, "Are you okay, Kabir?", he asked with a concern.

Kabir nodded.

"I am sorry, Beta. I promised you that we both would spend some time with each other " , Shashank apologized. " I forgot about it and when your mother suggested to invite Akriti..."

Kabir interrupts, "Papa, you don't need to worry. The evening will not come back. Don't think much. It's getting late, I think you should take some rest , Papa. I'll take your leave."

Without saying anything further, Kabir left the study room. As Shashank saw Kabir leaving, he felt guilty and he too left the room. On the other hand, Kabir was lying down on his bed thinking about everything since Akriti's arrival. Lost in his thoughts, Kabir couldn't help but question his own feelings. Was he being irrational? Was his jealousy justified? With all these thoughts, he didn't realised when sleep engulfed him.

That's it for today, guys.

Along with Kabir, I too have same question that was he being irrational? And was his jealousy justified?
Or you think that as he is a CARDIOTHORACIC SURGEON so he must behave mature. Drop your views in the comments.

Do tell how was the first part?

Precap:

"Are you okay, Dr. Kabir?"

"How can I be okay Dr. Akriti, when you are here !"
