WOOOOOAH so now you met Lou Ellen! Yay!
Npov
As the days went by, I became more worried and more bored. I was worried that I wouldn't get out in time to see my family, and bored because I wasn't allowed out of bed.
This specific day was the day before I met with my parents.
Will kept me company, though. I would wake up in the morning, and Will was already there. He would stay until I fell asleep, giving me a goodnight kiss on the forehead, and saying 'I love you.'
The others would visit too. Hazel the most, other than Will. She couldn't stay as late as he could because she had to get home. The rest of them have jobs or college to attend to so they can't see me as often. I don't blame her for it, though. They can't help that they need money to buy food and keep their houses.
Right now it was midnight. Will had left to go to sleep, because chairs are hard to go to sleep in.
I had woken up from anger nightmare about Bianca. But, honestly, I'm not sure if I could count it as a nightmare. Bianca had said that, yes, she was dead. But she had said she had been watching me, protecting me. But it must have just been a dream because It doesn't seem like I've exactly been protected.
"I've been watching you and Will. But when someone you know tries to break you up, don't let them. You love eachother. He loves you. Don't believe anyone who tells you differently." She had told me.
Surely it's just a dream.
I closed my eyes and hoped for a few more hours of sleep.
The nurse came in, though, and I guess assumed I was asleep. "I guess he's not having nightmares...."
Do I open my eyes and tell her? Do I pretend to be asleep? I'll pretend to be asleep. Human interaction is bad.
"Okay....I think Will is going to want to know this."
I heard her leave.
I opened my eyes again, sighing. Are they concerned about my nightmares? I didn't even know they knew about my nightmares.
I heard footsteps about five minutes later.
"Are you sure?" I heard Will ask.
"Completely." The nurse replied.
I shut my eyes again. My human interaction alarm was going off.
"Okay." Will said. I heard them enter the room. I felt weight on the bed and knew Will was sitting there. He took my hand. My eyes shot open.
"Nico, I uh, I know that you've been having nightmares...." he nervously glanced at the nurse, "We thought you didn't have a nightmare tonight so-"
"I did." I interrupted. I looked away from him. Would he be mad that I didn't tell him?
"Oh. Did you wake up from it?"
"Yes."
"And you fell back asleep...?"
"I-uh-no. I was trying to, but I couldn't."
"Oh. Okay. Do you want to talk about it?"
"I...." I was reluctant to say the least.
"I guess you don't have to if you don't want to. I was just thinking it might help."
"No....I don't want to talk about it." I said. Besides, I didn't even know whether it's a nightmare or not.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. I mean, honestly, I can't even tell if it was a nightmare."
"You....can't tell?"
"It's kind of complicated. Bianca was in it, and she told me she was dead. But then she said she's been protecting me."
I left out the part about Will and I.
Will snorted, "Protecting you? Yeah, right. Octavian stabbed you. You almost died! No offense, but there is no possible way she's protecting you."
I sighed, "Yeah. I know. It still helps to think that she's trying."
"Yeah. Well, Nico, I'm going to set up a bed in that chair, so I'll know if you have a nightmare."
"Will, you don't have to-"
"I want to Nico. I want to protect you, because Bianca can't."
Bianca can't.
Bianca can't.
Bianca can't.
His words echoed around my mind. Bianca can't. Bianca is dead.
"Okay. Fine." I decided.
The nurse had left at some point, but I hadn't noticed when she did.
"I love you, Nico." He said. He kissed my forehead. My eyes drifted close and the last image I saw of Will, was him smiling at me.
"Goodnight."
------in the morning---------
"Nico! You get to see your parents today!"
My eyes widened with excitement. "That's right!" I jumped out of bed, nearly knocking Will over.
"Whoah, there! Don't hurt yourself again." He laughed.
"I've gotta get ready!" I ran out of the infirmary. Five minutes later he was staring at his closet.
I heard Will approach from behind me.
Suddenly I was doubting even going. All my clothes were black, except for the Christmas sweater, which has a bloodstain on it.
"What if they don't approve of me wears this stuff?! And I was planning on telling them about how I'm dating you but what if they don't like gays?!" I looked up at him in panick.
"They're going to love you no matter what. They'll just be glad to see you."
"But what if-"
"Nico, you have to listen to me. They aren't gonna care because they love you."
"Okay...." I picked out my nicest not-covered-in-blood shirt and jeans. Will drove me over to the address Hazel had given me. Will seemed happy for me.
"What do I say?!"
"It'll be okay, Nico."
"What if they're like Octavian?!"
He snarled at the name. "I hate Octavian. Besides, they really aren't going to care."
"Are you sure? Maybe they'll hate me!"
"They met you once. Over the phone. Now you just have to explain why they have to be careful when hugging you. I don't want your wound opening up again. That would be a disaster."
(A/N: No, that will not happen. I'm not that mean.)
"Yeah. But honestly, how do I word that? Do I just say 'Oh, by the way, I was stabbed.' or what"
"How about I tell them." He suggested. "How about that?"
"Okay. Yeah, that'll work. Thank you so much, Will!"
And then we were there. My heart started beating faster. Will got out of the car before I did and jogged up to the house. I watched from the car as he knocked on the door and explained what happened. My dad was in the doorway, his expression changing from excitement to sadness. I watched as Will gestured to the car and my dad's expression brightened.
Will jogged back over, his expression grim. My father must have told him something.
I was suspicious but I didn't say anything.
When I got up to the door, I felt tears of joy slip down my cheeks. I pulled my dad into a hug. He laughed.
"You're here, you're really here!" I said.
"I thought I'd never see you again!" My dad cried.
Hazel bounded into the doorway. She saw me and grinned. "Hi, Nico."
But then both of their expressions turned grim, just like Will's. My dad pulled away, serious.
"Nico, there's something we need to tell you."
I'm leaving y'all with yet another cliffhanger!
