'You ready to go see?' Clay says. I look up at him. 'Of course! Where to?' I ask. 'Want me to show you?' He asks. I slap his arm 'you know I do, lets just go.' I say as I slip on my shoes. He chuckles and gets up as well.

The drive is short and we stop in front of a beautiful small house. A man is waiting outside. The man shows us around. All of the rooms are empty. 'It's beautiful' I say. The dark wooden floor, the wooden and stone walls and the grey paint on the walls give it a cozy and warm feeling. The big Windows compliments the darkness of the walls inside. There is a small balcony inside the house, looking over the living room. There is a fire place. And the kitchen is beautiful. 'I'll let you guys look around by yourself.' The man says as he leaves us alone.

We decide it's not for us. Too expensive for where it's located. But something like this would do.

Its my birthday. November now.

I think Clay doesn't know so I start the day normally,
Eating breakfast with Clay before getting ready.

After breakfast we're in the car, going somewhere I haven't been before.

'Okay. I didn't want to do this till later today. But I can't hold this in much longer.' Clay says. He parks the car in the middle of a neighborhood. 'Do what?' I ask. He gets out, walking around the car to open my door for me and helping me out. 'Look around you.' He says.

I do as he says.

I look around, seeing the houses. They are nice and one of them has a for sale sign with sold on it. It's a nice neighborhood. Calm but busy non the less. The houses are quite big and terraced houses on the other side of the road. Living here wouldn't be bad.

'What do you think?' He asks, trying his best not to be too exited. 'Of what? The neighborhood?' I ask. He nods. I look around once more 'it's really nice.' I say. He smiles 'A store just five minutes by foot. Calm neighborhood but not boring. The houses here have big gardens. A park and small woods, and walking trail down the street. City on 10 minute distance as well.' He says.

I look at him as he speaks, trying to figure out what he's getting at. 'Yeah. Why are we here though.' I ask. He turns to me, holding out his hand. I take it and he starts to lead me. He stops in front of the house with the sign. It has a driveway for at least two cars. The front door is a dark wood with stained glass. It's beautiful.

My eyes fall onto the sign again.

Sold

'Clay?' I ask as I turn to him while still looking at the house. 'Yes?' He says. I turn my head to him now, meeting his eyes. His green eyes shine in the sun and his hair seems golden. 'Clay, what did you do?' I ask with a laugh.

He pulls something out of his back pocket. It's a black box. Not one for jewelry, but something alike. 'Open it. This is my birthday present for you.' He says as he holds it in front of me. My eyes linger on his before I look down at the box he has on his hands. I carefully take the top off to reveal a key. It looks new.

I look at him, mouth agape as I turn to look at the house again.

'Clay....' I turn back to him with teary eyes. He's smiling brightly. 'Will you live with me?' He asks. I stare at him, still shocked. He raises his eyebrows with a expecting look. 'Yes... Yes!' I throw myself to him and wrap myself around him. As I'm laughing and smiling a tear falls. He pulls back and holds my face in his hands, I place my hand over his big one and lean into the touch. 'Wanna go see the house?' He asks.

I shake my head as I hug him again. 'I need a kiss first.' I say. 'I can do that.' He says. He kisses me passionately. We break the kiss and my hands rest on his shoulders 'I love you so much.' I say softly as more tears fall. He chuckles 'I love you too. So insanely much I can't even begin to comprehend how much I need you around. I need you... Amelia.' He says. I smile as I dry my happy tears. I kiss him again. 'Clay this is so perfect.' I say as I rest my forehead against his. 'So are you.' He says. I chuckle.

'Want to go inside?' He asks again as he opens the box again. I take the key out of the box. 'Race you to it!' I yell as I start to run to the front door. 'Hey!' He yells out as he follows.

I look at the beautiful door as I gently trace the wood. Clay places his hands on my waist. 'It's nice, huh?' I nod. As I look through the stained glass I can see a hallway that leads to a bright and empty room. I turn around to face Clay. I look at him as I bite my lip, not sure what to say. As we stare at one another something changes in me. This man. After so long of already being with him, here I am. Standing in front of our house. Ready to make this our home.

Home.

For the first time I find a meaning in the word. How I never felt at home before. I found that home, doesn't mean the marble counter in the kitchen. Or the philodendron above the inlaid table. It's who you share the space with. And right now.....

His green orbs look back at me.

He makes it home. No one but him.
I hug him, resting my head against his shoulder. We stand there as I'm securely wrapped in his arms.

In front of our house.
