Lilly's POV
Christmas was coming, so that meant Hagrid and I were going to decorate the castle and the trees he's bringing in.
Harry found himself to be inbetween Hermione and Ron's arguments. If he stayed around Ron he found Lavender to be around as well. He hung out with Hermione in the library mostly, she refuses to be in the common room if Ron was there. Hermione warned Harry to be careful with what people gives him. Romilda Vane wanted Harry to take her to Slughorn's Christmas party, along with a lot of other girls. They got to the common room and Hermione went up to bed early because she saw Ron and Lavender entwined in the same armchair.
I just got back moments before from the Kitchen getting a few snacks. I muttered to Neville, "Geez, he says we show off too much. Look at him, entwined in the chair with her, that's bloody disgusting!"
Neville said, "It just is a load of dung, really." I nodded and continued to snack and read my book.

Transfiguration was horrible the next day. We were supposed to change the color of our eyebrows, and Ron made a mustache on him. Just about everyone laughed, but Ron made fun of Hermione which Lavender and Parvati found amusing. She was in tears. Harry went after her and I saw that Harry asked Luna to Slughorn's party, I was happy for her, she really needs friends, it's unfortunate people thinks she's mental, I find her to be extremely talented, smart, and sane.
We went to dinner and I sat by Harry, then Lavender and Parvati came over. I scooted one seat over and so did Neville. Parvati said, "Lilly, you don't have to!"
I said, "I would prefer to stay at least two seats away from the snog fest, if you don't mind." She nodded understanding the annoyance I had and then Hermione said hi to us. She asked Parvati and I if we were going to Slughorn's party. I said "Yup, Neville and I are going together."
Parvati said, "No invite, I'd love to go, it sounds like it's going to be really good... You're going aren't you?"
"Yes, I'm meeting Cormac at eight, and we're-"
There was a noise like a plunger being withdrawn from a blocked sink and Ron surfaced. Hermione acted as if she didn't hear anything, my jaw dropped.
"-we're going to the party together. "
"Cormac? Cormac McLaggen, you mean?" said Parvati, surprised,
"That's right, the one who almost became Gryffindor Keeper." Hermione empathize the word 'almost'.
"Are you going out with him, then?" asked Parvati very curiously.
"Oh - yes - didn't you know?" Hermione did a giggle that was nothing like her...
"No! Wow, you like your Quidditch players, don't you? First Krum, then McLaggen..." Parvati was very good at observing,,,
"I like really good Quidditch players. Well, see you, got to get ready for the party..." She left and Lavender and Parvati were discussing the news they had just heard.
I slapped my head to my forehead and closed my mouth. I groaned and whispered to Neville, "She's smart, but she's going to ruin her night... She knows that is going to annoy Ron, but she's going to regret going with Cormac!"
Neville asked, "Why are girls so complicated?"
I said, "I don't know, we think weird... Then again, boys have an equal level of complications."
He nodded and I stood up saying, "See you at eight, tonight meet in the common room?" He nodded, pecking my lips and I went to my room getting ready for the party with simple makeup, but with noticeable eyes. (See picture above. ☝ Lighter and longer hair, switch the headbands, and I finally revealed what the locket would look like and what Neville's bracelet he gave Lilly looks like. :) )

It was eight and I met Neville in the common room and we went to the party together. I saw Harry and Luna and we walked in together. Slughorn immediately grabbed Harry and I, who sized our dates' hands, and introduced us to Eldred Worple, an old student of his, author of Blood Brothers: My Life Among Vampires- and his friend Sanguini.
Worple wanted to write a book about Harry and a book about me. We politely declined and found Hermione. She said the only reason she asked Cormac was because she thought it would annoy Ron the most... I said, "Smart, but I would have went with Harry, if I were you. Ron thinks you fancy him and it would get under his skin, just a bit..."

Slughorn talked to Harry more and Malfoy was caught in the corridor and Snape had a word with him.
I saw what Harry saw, Snape was offering Draco help in his endeavors. He made the Unbreakable Vow...
Neville noticed my unease and I shook it off saying, "Nothing, I just don't want Slughorn to keep showing us off to his colleagues, it's rather annoying." He chucked and pecked my lips. We got drinks and talked a bit. It was fun, but I didn't like that Slughorn was trying to get close to me due to my connections in the Ministry. The one thing I hate the most in the world is be used...
