"So he's an idiot then?" I blurt out, which send the twins, Jack and Melody laughing lightly, once I've had a drink I have a tendency to ramble on a bit.
"Have you been drinking?" Molly asks and I shake my head and try to stay serious.
"But why, why is he being an idiot? If Dumbledore- "
"See Harry agrees Fudge is an idiot." I whisper to Melody as Arthur says something to the group.
"Frightened on Dumbledore?" Harry asked.
"Frightened of what he's up to, Fudge thinks Dumbledore's plotting to overthrow him. He thinks Dumbledore wants to be Minister for Magic." Arthur says.
"But Dumbledore doesn't want -" Harry starts saying.
"Of course he doesn't. He's never want the Ministers job, even though a lot of people wanted him to take it when Millicent's Bagnold retired. Fudge came to power me instead, but he's never quite forgotten how much popular support Dumbledore had, even though Dumbledore never applied for the job." Arthur tells us, mainly directing it at Harry.
"Deep down, Fudge knows Dumbledore's much cleverer than he is, a much more powerful wizard, and in the early days of his Ministry he was forever asking Dumbledore for help and Advice," my uncle tells us. "But it's seems he's become fond of powers and much more confident. He loves being Minister for Magic and he's managed to convince himself that he's the clever one and Dumbledore's simply stirring up trouble for the sake of it."
As they sit there talking I drink a bit more than I first intended to, I think it's because I was just taking sips every minute forgetting that it was alcohol.
"How can he think that? How can he think Dumbledore would just make it all up - that I would make it all up?" Harry said angrily and rightly so.
"Because accepting that Voldemort's back would mean trouble for the Ministry like they haven't had to cope with in fourteen years. Fudge just can't bring himself to face it. It's so much more comfortable to convince himself Dumbledore's lying to destabilise him." My dad says.
"So what does he think happened to Cedric - how did a seventeen year old suddenly die?" I ask. "A seventeen year old doesn't just get killed 'by accident.'"
"You see the problem, while the Ministry insists there is nothing to fear from Voldemort its hard to convince people he's back, especially as they really don't want to believe it in the first place. What's more, the Ministry ms leaning heavily in the Daily Prophet not to report any of what they're calling Dumbledore's rumour-mongering, so most of the wizarding community are completely unaware anything's happened, and that makes them easy target for Death Eaters, if they're using the Imperius curse." My uncle says.
Thinking to myself, no one knows that Cedric got killed by Voldemort and if they knew of his death what did the think happened to him?
"But you're telling people aren't you? You're letting people know he is back?" He looks at the adults on the table.
They gave him a small smile.
"Well, as everyone thinks I'm a mad mass murder and they Ministry's out a ten thousand Galleon price on my head I can hardly stroll up the street and start handing out leaflets can I?" Dad asks sarcastically.
I sit there drinking more and more paying less attention to what was actually happening in the meeting, as I done little plaits in my hair. Although I think people were starting to notice.
"But Dumbledore says he doesn't care what they do as long as they don't take him off the Chocolate Frog Cards." Bill says grinning.
"It's no laughing matter," Arthur says, "if he carries on defying the Ministry like this he could end up in Azkaban and the last thing we want is to have Dumbledore locked up. While you-know-who knows Dumbledores out of the way, well, you-know-who will have a clear field."
I lay my head on the table and close my eyes listening to the conversation as Melody took the flask from me.
"But is Voldemort's trying to recruit more death eaters it's bound to get out he's come back, isn't it?" Harry asks.
"I don't think he matches up to their front doors Harry." I say, not opening my eyes. "He will black mail them, trick them." I say before I hiccup.
"He is well practiced at operating in secret. In any case gathering followers is only one thing he's interested in. He's got other plans too, which can put into operation very quietly." My dad says taking over from me.
"What's he after apart from followers?" Harry asked.
"Stuff he can only get by stealth." Dad replied. "Like a weapon. Something he didn't have last time."
"When he was powerful before?" Harry asked.
"Yes." Dad replies.
"Like what kind of weapon? Something worse then Avada Kedavra -" Harry said before being cut off.
"That's enough!" Molly shouted which made me sit upright. "I want you in bed, now. All of you."
"You can't boss us -" Fred tried to protest.
"Watch me." Molly said then looking at my dad, "you've given Harry plenty of information. Anymore and you might as well induct him into the Order straightaway."
"Why not? I'll join, I want to join, I want to fight." Harry said.
"Me too." I add in.
"No." Uncle Remus said. "The order is comprised only of overage wizards who have left school. There are dangers involved of which you can have no idea, any of you... I think Molly is right, Sirius. We've said enough."
"Bed then." Molly says sharply.
I go to stand up and fall straight on the floor.
"Y/n!" I chorus from the people in the room could be heard and I just started laughing.
"She may look like her mother but she has her fathers personality." Uncle Remus said.
"Have you been drinking?" Molly asks and I try to keep a straight face.
"Come on you." Fred says picking me up, "Melody can you help me take her up please?" Fred asks her.
"Yeah, sure." Melody says.
We all leave the room with Fred carrying me up the flights of stairs instead of apparating.
"You're so handsome Freddie." I say looking up at him as he carries on walking up the stairs.
"Yeah? And you are very drunk." He says with a small laugh.
"Have fun looking after her." Ron says, trying not to laugh.
"I don't need to be looked after, I'm perfectly fine thank you very much." I say, and I hear a laugh from behind us.
"You very much are not." Molly says. "Make sure she gets to bed okay, Fred."
"I will, don't worry." He says as he walks up the flights of stairs until we reach the bedroom door.
"I sorted out your pyjamas, I'll let Fred look after you tonight." She said before leaving the room and Fred places me on my bed.
"Right I'm going to grab some pyjamas quickly." He said before apparating into the room and back within thirty seconds.
"I think I need a little bit of help." I say, barely being able to sit up.
"I was going to help you," Fred says moving over to me.
"What's up Fred?" I ask him, the confidence goes up when I drink.
"Nothing." He says quickly.
"Clearly something is, Fred, you literally moved seats from next to me." I say with a hiccup at the end.
"Im just worried about you and you not telling me things." He says.
"I'm sorry, I should of told you but I was scared not just telling you but our parents." I say.
"It's fine, anyway let's get you changed into these pyjamas." Fred says, taking my clothes off and putting the pyjamas on me.
Fred then gets changed into his pyjama bottoms leaving his chest bare, before getting into bed with me and pulling the covers over the two of us.
"Goodnight Freddie, I love you lots." I say as I cuddle up to him.
"Goodnight, y/n, I love you too." He replies and I close my eyes, shortly after falling asleep.
I woke up in the morning to Melody, Jack and George all talking in the room.
"Look they are finally waking up, how's your head y/n?" Jack asks, with a small laugh on the end.
"If I knew you brought the flask down I would of sat closer to you." George says and I groan from all the sudden commotion.
"I think that answer means, 'I shouldn't of drunk so much and I am deeply regretting it." Melody replies and I nod my head.
"Anyway, you two need to get up, breakfast then cleaning." George says which makes Fred and I groan even more.
"What are we even cleaning today?" I ask.
"Cleaning in the drawing room, there are more Doxys than she thought and she's found a nest of dead Puffskeins under the sofa." Melody says, as I sit up and rub my head.
I quickly get dressed and go down the stairs for breakfast.
"You look rough." My dad says laughing at me.
"I feel it." I say gulping down a goblet of pumpkin juice, before eating the whole plate of food rather quickly.
We then go to the drawing room where Molly and the rest of the kids are and tied cloth around our noses and mouths, then grabbing a bottle of black liquid.
"Cover your faces and spray, it's Doxycide. I've never seen an infestation this bad. What's that house-elf been doing for the last ten years- " Molly starts saying.
"My head hurts." I say to Melody.
"I'm not surprised, you were downing the Firewhisky like there was no tomorrow." She laughs lightly.
My dad walks into the room talking to Molly politely, unlike the night before. When the bell started ringing from down the stairs.
"I keep telling them not to ring the doorbell!" Dad says, hurrying out of the room and rushing down the stairs as the house filled with the screams of my grandmother.
"Stains of dishonour, filthy half-breeds, blood traitors, children of filth..."
"Close the door please, Harry." Molly asked him.
"I need to get some sort of potion for this bloody headache." I say rubbing my head as Molly turns to us all.
"Right, you lot, you need to be careful , because Doxys bite and their teeth are poisonous. I've got a bottle of antidote here, but I'd rather no day needed it." Molly tells us and I look at Fred uneasy as we walked close to the curtains.
"When I say the word, start spraying immediately." Molly says, "they'll. one flying out at us, I expect, but it says on the sprays one good squirt will paralyse them. When they're immobilised, just throw them in this bucket."
We all got the sprays at the ready waiting for Mollys word.
"Alright, squirt!"
We all began spraying and after a few seconds fully grown Doxys came flying out of the curtains and we sprayed them and threw them in the bucket.
"Fred, what are you doing?" Molly asks, "spray that at once and throw it away!"
I turn and look at my boyfriend who was holding a Doxy in his hands and I just shake my head knowing what he was doing.
"Right-o" Fred said and when Molly turned her back he quickly squirted the Doxy and then pocketed it.
"We want to experiment with Doxy venom for our Skiving Snackboxes," I hear George telling Harry in whispers.
"What are Skiving Snackboxes?" Harry asks and the twins begin telling him about there latest invention. As I continue spraying the Doxys with Melody and Jack.
"What are they talking about?" Jack asks.
"Telling Harry about the Skiving Snackboxes." I whisper.
They carry on telling Harry about the Skiving Snackboxes and we keep tackling what's left of the Doxys and Molly goes and makes some sandwiches for lunch.
