"Yeah, just nervous, right let's go to the toilet." I say and we hurry into the bathroom down the hall; locking the door behind us and she hands me the test.

"So how long have you not had your period for?" She asks.

See there was two possibilities for why I haven't had my period since mid June. Firstly, stress or a baby and I was hoping it was option one.

"Since mid June." I say, in wrapping the test from the packaging, whilst Melody read the instructions.

I pee on the stick and put it on the side. "How long do we wait?" I ask Melody.

"Five minutes." She says, and I sit there nervously.

"What will happen if you are?" She asks.

"I don't even know... How would we tell anyone?" I ask her.

She pulls me into a comforting hug. "You'll be okay, you always are." She tells me whilst rubbing my back.

"I don't know how to feel right now, everything feels weird and I can't explain it..." I say into her shoulder.

We stand there for a couple of minutes hugging each other when Melody starts talking to me.

"Y/n you should look now..."

We pull away from the hug and I go to look at the test result which will or will not change mine and Fred's life.
