Not the best previous chapter, but I'll try to wrap up Azure Waters with this one. Y'know, can't be lazy about it. Actually nah, it's training arc time boys. I'll just assume you read the Azure Waters manga/played Honkai Impact 3rd to know what happens to Seele and Bronya. This story's gonna focus on Kaiju for the most part.

[Kami's Lookout, Sleeping Quarters]

"Hey Kami, you never told me why I'm considered special. Mr. Popo kept saying that too. Mind telling me?"

The Namekian pondered this. It wouldn't hurt to tell the boy about the evil within him, or that evil's background.

"Very well my boy. Think of this, as a bedtime story."

Kaiju grinned, going under the covers.

"Cumber, also known as the Evil Saiyan, was amongst the strongest warriors in the universe. Born with a disease that infected anyone who touched his Ki, he took over the universe with this power."

"Back in his prime, anyone who so much as touched his energy, would go completely berserk, destroying everything in their path. He was capable of controlling these berserkers, conquering the universe during his time alive."

"Fortunately, his brother Yamoshi, managed to put a halt on his tyranny over the universe. Yamoshi was the Saiyan God, that legend that you've probably already heard."

The Saiyan prince's eyes widened at this revelation. To think a Saiyan God really existed...

"Sadly, Towa, the queen of the demon realm has brought him back. Thankfully, divine intervention brought him back within you."

"You, my boy, are Cumber's vessel."

"WHAT?! I HAVE SOMEONE INSIDE MY MIND? No way! Is that why..."

Memories flashed through Kaiju's head of that night, where he massacred those ex Ize Force soldiers. That wasn't him, that was Cumber.

"Thankfully, he doesn't have control over your body, and is nowhere near his full power. The reason I brought you here from that forest, was to prepare you. You have the potential to take down Cumber. At this point, you're the only one that can send that monster to hell.."

Kaiju sat there, befuddled. This was a revelation to him. If he's this guy's vessel, then his life's definitely gonna be worse. Having his body taken over by some evil Saiyan didn't sound fun..

"Now Kaiju, tomorrow is going to be tough on you. I'll be teaching a plethora of techniques until I believe you're ready to leave."

Kaiju nodded, getting ready to sleep. Kami looked at the boy and noticed his worry, reassuring him.

"The children at the orphanage believe you're missing, but that shouldn't be a big problem. Due to your status as an orphan, a missing person report would not be filed, nor would the police get involved."

"What about Bronya... and Seele?"

Kami felt that getting Kaiju stronger was far more important than those two, so Kami reassured the boy, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Right now, I believe the increase in your strength and ki control is far more important. You won't stay here forever my boy, trust me.."

Kaiju thought for a moment. I mean, there's no way he'd be gone for too long, right? As long as nothing bad happens, he'll come back to those two, stronger than ever!

"Alright Mr. Kami, I'll head to bed now."

Kami ruffled the boy's hair, walking out of the room.

"Good night, my boy."

The next morning, Kami led the Saiyan boy down a flight of stairs, their journey ended at a single wooden door.

"This, is the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a place where one can train and get stronger in a short amount of time. There are a number of conditions that make the Time Chamber a perfect place to gain strength quickly. To begin with, the flow of time within the Chamber is compressed."

"So this Hypersonic Lion Tamer can help me get stronger?"

Kaiju fumbled the name accidentally, which caused Kami to facepalm.

"The Hyperbolic Time Chamber, try to get it right. One day of real-world time is equivalent to one year inside the Chamber, or one minute of real time is approximately six hours, five minutes, and 15 seconds in the Chamber."

"You won't be spending too much time in here, especially with how inexperienced you are at the moment. There's also the gravity of this room. The gravity in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber living area is "different", though it seems to not be much higher than Earth's gravity of 1g. Alternatively, the gravity of the training area outside the living area is 10g."

"I'll be accompanying you into this room to teach you quite a bit of techniques, and to help you get stronger. Such as the Chō Shinken, a technique that allows you to multiply your power infinitely, at the cost of high amounts of stamina. Kaiju, are you ready?"

The vessel gulped. After everything Kami just described about the room, it seemed crazy to be in there..

"If I don't go in, I won't be able to get stronger... I'll be behind this Cumber guy, and he'll wreak havoc... I'll go in, Kami! I'll make sure to get strong enough to beat the Evil Saiyan!"

"That's the spirit. Now,"

Kami opened the door.

"Enter."

"Woah, this place is.... empty. Is the space inside it infinite?!"

"Yes my boy. Now, we'll have to get you accustomed to the gravity first, then we'll work on your techniques. Now, leave the living area and just have a little walk."

Kaiju just raised an eyebrow at this, and went for it.

"Alright, whatever you sa- GAAAH!"

Kaiju fell on the ground, his body unable to move due to the gravity's pressure on his body.

"Damn...it. I'm not gonna let some room... beat me!"

"Take your time my boy! We have six months in here!"

The temperature around him drastically increased, causing him to pant.

"This place, it's like hell... How am I supposed to get stronger here..."

"No! If I can't overcome this, then I'll never defeat Ize!"

Through sheer will, the boy stood on two feet. This will came from his desire to kill Ize and to defeat Cumber.

"Impressive.."

Kami caught the boy who fell unconscious.

"Not half bad my boy.."

Within 1 month, with meditation, Kaiju finally managed to adapt to the gravity. He sparred with Kami, who'd absolutely annihilate him each time. How was such an old man so damn strong?!

Three months in and Kaiju had learnt how to fly, shoot ki blasts and reinforce his body with ki. He was on the way to that special technique, but just needed a little push.

"The... Chō Shinken? What's that?"

Kaiju awkwardly asked, utterly confused by the term.

"It multiplies the user's ki for a "heartbeat" and turns their aura sky blue - amplifying their power and speed to overcome previously stronger foes at the cost of extreme bodily recoil. Strong ki control is required in order to wield the Chō-Shinken properly. It's why we've been working on that for the past few months."

"Use it only as a last resort or in short bursts, or else you'll just end up dying mid use, my boy."

"Right now, I'm preparing you for the threats that may come upon this world. Have you ever heard of Honkai?"

This was a new term for the Saiyan, though it seemed familiar.

"Honkai? Is that some kind of food?"

Kami couldn't help but chuckle at the boy's guess. Food was always the first thing on his mind.

"The Honkai is a mysterious life-threatening phenomenon that comes in the form of natural disasters, Honkai radiation, Honkai beasts, Herrschers, etc. Neither Popo or I know its exact origins but we know that it's hellbent on annihilating the entire human race. We also know that the Honkai is a hivemind that answers to a supreme Honkai being known as the Will of Honkai or Honkai God."

Kaiju attentively listened, his curiosity piqued.

"So basically, they're bad news right?"

Kami nodded, turning to Kaiju.

"Correct."

"Wow, this world has a ton I don't know about huh?"

"....We should continue training, I don't wanna fall behind, y'know?"

Kami could only nod, entering a battle stance.

"Very well then, have at it."

{3 months later, 9 months after Cumber's Revival}

[Kami's Lookout]

Three whole months flew by within the chamber. Not only did Kaiju grow in power, he also grew in height. The boy was currently 15 due to the 6 months he spent in the Time Chamber. Kami, who saw Kaiju as his student, also gave him a new outfit to show that.

A standard white gi with a blue undershirt, matching wristbands and boots. It also features a blue sash-style obi over his waist. The kanji "God's disciple" imprinted near his chest.

Kaiju smirked, finally getting to see the sun after so long.

"It's been so long, bright ball of light in space! I missed this place!"

"Kami, is it fine if I go down for a little bit? I sense some people, and it does get kinda lonely up here.."

Kami, who already knew what had been going on below Korin's Tower nodded, allowing the Saiyan to go down.

"Go take a look, it'll help you out with training I suppose."

Kaiju pumped his fist into the air, running to the edge of the Lookout.

"I'll be back before you can even say Hyperglycemic Crime Chamber!"

He jumped off the Lookout as Kami shouted back.

"It's Hyperbolic Time Chamber!"

Kaiju landed on the ground, noticing a village nearby. The Ki signatures down there being low didn't help. The Saiyan sped over to the village, noticing multiple dead bodies within the area.

"Who could've done this...? What a horrible thing to do...!"

Before he could press on, two Ki signatures behind him alerted the Saiyan. Kaiju turned his body, blocking two fatal blows.

"That would be... us."

"So, who are you guys? I don't like what you did to these people."

The two elderly men chuckled, feigning fear.

"Ooooh, what an interesting fellow."

"It's just business."

"You seem like a martial artist. Curious, which side are you from? The Turtle School perhaps, or are you one of my own?"

The man in green and yellow asked the Saiyan, quite curious of his origins.

"Factions? Side? I'm not part of any of whatever you're talking about, and I sure as hell ain't one of your own, so beat it!"

The man in pink and blue chuckled, deciding to cut to the chase.

"We'll have to kill you, can't leave any survivors after all. Before you die, I suppose you'd want to at least know the name of your killers. Call me Tao."

"You may refer to me as Shen in your final moments..."

"NOW DIE!"

Kaiju braced himself, blocking a blow that was headed straight for his jugular.

"You guys sure know how to play dirty!"

Tao jumped up above with a log in his arms, throwing the sharp end toward Kaiju. The minute Kaiju dodged, Shen came behind him and kicked the Saiyan in the back, launching him through the forest.

"These guys aren't as strong as me, but their teamwork's through the roof..! How am I gonna get around this?"

"Dodonpa!"

The two men shouted at once, firing a yellow beam from their fingers. Kaiju had been able to avoid this, but he couldn't help but be astonished. That technique was crazy, definitely more lethal than his own blasts.

Tao swooped in, trying to chop Kaiju's neck. The boy ducked under it, only for Shen to kick him in the stomach once again. This time, Tao caught Kaiju and headbutt the Saiyan.

"Shen, now!"

"Very well then! Goodbye monkey boy!"

The two assassins dashed at Kaiju and started to launch a flurry of coordinated attacks at him, a few seeming to land as Kaiju just couldn't keep up. The lack of actual combat experience put him at a massive disadvantage.

Shen landed a devastating blow on Kaiju's forehead, followed by Tao kicking him in the back, stunning Kaiju.

The two assailants charged up another blast, seemingly with more Ki infused within it.

"Super Dodonpa!"

Kaiju had already been drained by that kick to his back. The blast hit him, causing a massive shockwave within the village.

"Darn it all.... Should I go for it...? If I use that technique, who knows what'll happen to my body?"

Kaiju fell to the ground, exhausted like crazy.

"Whew, you're too strong Kami..."

The God of Earth sighed, hitting the boy in the head with his stick.

"OW! What did I do?!"

"Kaiju my boy, I need you to listen carefully."

"Not all battles can be beat with pure power, especially here on Earth, There's thousands of talented martial artists who'd still give you a run for your money despite being far weaker than you. It's the difference in technique between you and your opponent. Yes, power and speed is still the most important factor in a fight, but technique can give you the advantage. So, use your brain, not your brawn.

"........"

"My brain, huh? You already know I don't know how to use that..."

"We know you're not dead boy, now come out and we shall continue!"

Kaiju came out of the building he was sent into, stretching his body.

"Guess I'll try another way....."

"Visualize it Kaiju, visualize winning. They rely on catching me offf-guard after I dodge an attack... I GOT IT!"

Kaiju had finally locked in.

"....."

"He's gone quiet, maybe he's accepting his fate."

"Enough messing around Shen. We should finish this."

Shen fired a Dodonpa, only for Kaiju to dodge it. Tao used the opportunity to sneak up behind Kaiju, only for the Saiyan to duck under his attack and gut punch him.

Shen launched himself at the young fighter. Kaiju, sensing this, grabbed Tao and threw him at the other man.

"I'll take you both on."

Kaiju quickly fired a blast at the ground to create a cloud of smoke that surrounded them. The Saiyan would quickly put his strategy into play, flying toward both men haphazardly.

Tao, seeing this, quickly sucker punched Kaiju into the ground.

"What an insolent brat."

He stepped toward Kaiju, only to notice a small light under his foot. The microscopic blast exploded, doing massive damage to the man.

"Tao!"

Shen fired another blast at Kaiju, who ducked under it and decided to try something.

The Saiyan's aura flared up blue, as his speed had massively increased. He outpaced Shen and knocked him down, kicking him into the air.

"Here's the biggie!"

He put his arm back, charging up a white one-handed blast.

"Astral Hammer!"

Kaiju fired the blast into the air, eradicating Shen.

Tao looked up into the air in despair. If he was able to kill Shen this effortlessly, he had no hope.

"YOU!"

Tao hit Kaiju square in the face, who just ate the punch.

"....That tickled."

Tao panicked, bowing his head onto the ground.

"Please, spare my life! I promise I'll stop being an assassin and live a peaceful life, just please.. don't kill me!"

Kaiju, as kind as ever, sighed. This decision was hard, while they did kill a ton of people, maybe he felt remorse and would correct his mistakes..

"Fine, but no more killing! Okay?"

Tao, who had his head low, smirked.

"Yes... Sir."

Kaiju turned back, looking at the village. So many lives were lost today. Maybe he could come back to Kami's Lookout a little later and bury the other villagers.

Tao threw a grenade at Kaiju, which caused a massive chain of explosions, mines being set off around the village.

"Ha, what an insolent fool! To fall for the oldest trick in the book. I never said I was a prideful fighter, I'm an assassin!"

The smoke cleared, revealing an enraged Kaiju.

"You... You burnt all the bodies in that explosions! How dare you... Tao?!"

Tao was shocked, and really scared. How the hell did this brat survive?!

"You survived... How?!"

"Tch! I'll never forgive you."

Kaiju flew toward Tao, gut punching the man. He grabbed the assassin's face and headbutt him.

"This is it!"

Kaiju shoved the man's head into the ground, charging up a blast.

"Take this!"

Tao's muffled pleas were drowned out by the blast. Kaiju had finally won his first real battle.

"......"

"This world is truly cruel. Please, forgive me."

He spoke to the air, referring to the charred villagers.

{Two years since Cumber's Revival.}

[Kami's Lookout]

It was pitch black out, currently night. Kami and Popo nervously stood over the edge of the Lookout.

"Kami, do you believe it's..."

"Yes, Popo. I believe the Third Impact has begun."

"If I may ask, Kami... Why did you send Kaiju down there?"

"He wanted to meet that Bronya girl, who just happened to be near the now birthed Herrscher. He'll be fine if push comes to shove. Cumber won't let him die due to his lack of another Saiyan vessel."

"That's bound to change though. If another Saiyan's within the universe, Cumber will stop at nothing to find them and take over their body."

"Stay safe, Kaiju."
