When my alarm went off, I didn't throw it like I had the previous day. I turned up the volume and started jumping up and down on my bed. "Kyliiiiieeeee! WAKE UP! Wake up, wake up, wake UP!" I started throwing pillows at her, followed by stuffed animals. By the time my Dolphin plushie hit her in the head, she sat up and glared at me. "Come on lazy bones! Get ready! We have to get some shopping in before we can't move because of all the fangirls!" Understanding hit her in a second and she was up and in the shower before I could blink.
I stared after her a bit before I pulled my clothes out of my bag. I decided to go for something simple, something I would wear every day. I didn't want to broadcast to the world that I was going to an IM5 concert, since people still thought it was super weird. As I was putting on my beanie, Kylie came back decked out in her Dana gear. I had to laugh. I finished tying my shoes before grabbing the car keys off of the dresser. "Breakfast today?" I knew we would be super busy, and probably wouldn't find a spot for lunch. She agreed without hesitation. The girl loved her food. We skipped to the elevator with our arms linked, and skipped to the dining area the same way.
We were both freaking out and laughing, so I didn't see the blonde girl in front of me until I ran straight into her. I instantly let go of Kylie and grabbed the girl's arms to help her up. "I'm so sorry, hun, I didn't see you there." By the time she was on her feet, I noticed she was the girl who helped me up the previous day at Universal. "Oh. Hi! Seems like we just keep running into eachother!" I laughed at my horrible joke, but she laughed in return as she brushed off her torn up skinny jeans.
"Oh! No prob! And hey, to you too! I'm Sophie, by the way." She fixed her hair as Kaylie and I grinned. There was still something familiar about her, but we just couldn't place it.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Charlie, and this is Kaylie." That's when her jaw dropped a little bit.
"No way! I knew you guys looked familiar!" She pointed at Kylie first. "You're its-danassnapback from Tumblr, right? I fricken love your blog!" Kylie just stood there with the biggest grin on her face, probably from finally getting some attention. "And you," she pointed to me. "Your videos are the best things I've ever seen. Your original songs are awesome! By the way, totes thought it was you yesterday, but didn't have the balls to ask." I had to laugh. This girl was adorable. I just wanted to pick her up and pinch her cheeks and all of the things that big sisters did.
"That's awesome!" Kylie finally spoke up this time, the blush from her face now gone. Sophie was sizing her up, and I raised an eyebrow when she stopped at Kylie's IM5 snap back.
"You like IM5, huh? Going to their concert at the mall today?" Kylie instantly nodded, petting her hat like it was her child. I answered, though, since Ky was in her own little world.
"Yeah. We're huge fans. We're going early to do some shopping though." That's when I thought of something. Shopping was always better with a group. "You wanna come with us? We have plenty of room in my car." Sophie's face lit up.
"Let me just ask my mom real quick!" She shot off a quick text and we made small talk. Like where we were from, if we had siblings, the normal things. Finally, her phone beeped and she squealed. "Mom said I can go! Now let's get some grub so I can get my shop on!" I had to laugh. This girl was too hilarious. I still couldn't pin point where I had seen her before.
We ate as fast as we could before piling into my car. Kylie gave me directions to the mall, and I was actually able to find an alright space. We weren't surprised to see gaggles of 5ers huddled in groups everywhere. The three of us just laughed as we went on our little shopping spree. Sophie and I instantly attacked Hot Topic. Kylie went in, but she didn't really buy anything. I, on the other hand, came out with four full bags. I had even bought Sophie a shirt she had been staring at for ten minutes. After a trip to Build A Bear, it was finally time to get a spot by the stage. Sophie said she had read up on everything, so she knew that the sound check was going to start soon. That was all we needed to hear. So we went off with our Dalton, Dana, and Cole bears.
I clutched my dolphin to my best, not wanting to lose it, as we made our way to the stage. There was still a spot open at the front, so we ran to it. Sophie and I set our bags down and sat our plushies on the stage. That's when she asked. "That dolphin looks like a certain blonde someone, you know that?" I felt like an idiot for the blush that crossed my cheeks.
"Yeah..Well..I'm kind of hoping to give it to Dalton, okay?" I blurted out the words, and Sophie just laughed. Of course, Kylie piped in.
"Dana's getting mine, for sure. I mean. We're meant for eachother. He followed me on Twitter. Our love is official." Sophie and I laughed at this until we heard someone tapping a microphone. I looked up and there he was. Dalton Rapattoni. Half hidden by a screen, but I could still see him. I tried to contain myself, but it was hard with Kylie already screaming like crazy. Of course, she was spam tweeting him, hoping he would look at his phone before the show started. It seemed like she was getting her wish. I saw Dana's head pop out from behind the screen, searching the front row. I waved my hands to get his attention and pointed at Kylie, who was spam tweeting.
She didn't even notice him walk over until I shook her. "Kylie...Kylie! KYLS! LOOK UP!" She snapped her head up from her phone and dropped it. Sophie and I were snickering, well, until Sophie's phone beeped. She hid it from me, and I didn't pry. Then the TARDIS theme music came on and she held the phone to her ear. I turned my head away so I wouldn't listen to what she was saying.
Dana was still grinning down at Kylie, who looked as if she hadn't breathed yet. I poked her, and she snapped back to life, whispering a hi to Dana. "So. You're Kylie?" She nodded. "It's nice to finally meet such a big fan of mine." He gave her his toothy grin, and I swore the girl melted. Kylie still couldn't speak properly, so I pointed to the Penguin Dana on the stage.
"She made that for you." Dana's eyes lit up, and Kylie nodded, grabbing it so she could hand it up to him. He took it with a smile and gave it a bit hug.
"We should hang out after the show, Kylie. Finally get to know eachother." And with that, Dana was gone, and Kylie was back. She looked as if she were going to faint, but I held her up. That was when I remembered the dolphin.
"Dana! Wait a sec!" He turned around and I took a breath, grabbing the Dolphin Dalton I had made. "You think you could give this to Dalton?" He gave me a bright grin and nodded, and that's when Sophie piped in, her phone finally away from her ear.
"And this to Cole?" She handed Dana the Koala Cole, and he just rolled his eyes at her. I don't think she wanted me to notice, but Sophie gave Dana a wink before he ran back off behind the stage. Sophie and I were finally getting Kylie calmed down when we all jumped, hearing a shout from behind the screen on the stage.
"SHE MADE WHAT FOR WHO?! OH BALLS NO!" Sophie instantly tried to duck down, and Kylie and I were confused as fell.
"Busted..." Sophie whispered, with us still staring at her. That's when he came onto to stage. All beautiful and angry. Obviously, Sophie hadn't hid well enough.
"Sophie! Where have you been?! Do you never tell me where you're going anymore?! Mom only said you went 'out with friends'. What does that even mean?!" Sophie gave a sheepish grin as she looked over at us, chuckling a bit.
"Guys...Meet Dalton. My super famous, super RUDE, brother." My jaw dropped. Holy Rapattoni Batman! No wonder she had looked so familiar! She was Dalton Rapattoni's little sister! I was only shocked for a moment, but Kylie was full on freaking out.
"YOU COULDN'T HAVE TOLD US THIS BEFORE?! GIRL YOU CRAY! PULLING THE 'I HAVE A FAMOUS BROTHER' CARD! WE WOULD'VE LIKED YOU ANYWAYS!" I rolled my eyes and smacked her on the back of the head. Though, Kylie wasn't the only one still freaking out.
"Sophie! Hello?! Speaking to you! Explain!" Sophie rolled her eyes and glared back up at Dalton.
"Dalton! Jeeze! Chill! You remember when I told you I thought I ran into that girl from PlusOne? That Youtube channel I really like? Well, I did! And I ran into her at the hotel this morning, and her and Kylie asked if I wanted to go shopping. Mom said it was okay. Anyways! This is Charlie and Kylie. Charlie's the one that made you the Dolphin Dalton." As Sophie spoke, Dalton's face fell. It was obvious that he felt like a dick.
He gave a sheepish laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. "Wow. Sorry. I feel like a total dick for all of that. It's nice to meet you girls." We both gave our replies and he plopped down onto the stage, sitting in front of where the three of us were standing. He pointed at me. "So you're Charlie?" I nodded. "One, thanks for the plushie. It shall forever remain sticking out of my guitar case. Two. Sophie here loves your videos. I have to admit, I'm a fan as well. You've got a hell of a voice on you." I had no idea what to say. So I just said thank you, making him laugh. "You don't have to be so shy, jeeze. What did you say in that one video? You're 22 or something? Act like it!" I know he was joking, but that hit a nerve.
"I can act whatever age I please, thank you very much!" I stuck my tongue out at him for emphasis, which he laughed at. "And thank you...I've found that I have a lot of fans around here." He gave a nod before he whipped his head around. Cole was peeking his head out, whispering to Dalton. Until he saw Sophie, anways. Then he skipped his way over and plopped down right next to Dalton, giving him a huge hug.
"Ah, Colton in action." Kylie whispered into my ear, and I couldn't help but laugh. I could tell that she was focused on something else, though, and that was when I noticed Dana using his hands to make numbers at Kylie. A gave a little smirk before Sophie poked me in the ribs. I squeaked like a cat getting stepped on, blushing as I turned back around to the group.
"I saaaaaaid. Charlie. This is Cole. He's a big fan of yours, too. We watch your videos every time Cole comes over to see Dalton." I gave a shy smile, hoping I wouldn't get another comment from Dalton.
"Hi. Sorry, my mind was somewhere else, it's nice to meet you." I reached out my hand, and he shook it, and I blushed at how large his hand was around my tiny one. I may be 22, but I was short for my age. Barely five foot three. I coughed a little bit and pulled my hand away, still blushing. I felt like an idiot. He was only 17! I had to stop crushing on boy band members.
"Sophie and I were actually watching your videos last night after the Ustream. Your cover of Superman was perfection." I had to laugh at that, giving him a bit of a shrug.
"Oh, it wasn't that great. Though it was my favorite out of all of the covers I've done. Do you have a favorite original?" Cole instantly nodded, and Sophie rolled her eyes. Dalton had gone off somewhere, I hadn't even noticed. Huh. That was odd. When did I stop noticing Dalton? He's literally all I talk about on Tumblr and Twitter...I even had the unofficial Charlton ship with him! I shook the thoughts out, though, as he answered.
"Perfect's Not So Perfect. The emotion you put into that song was just...I can't even describe it." He went to go on, but Sophie cut him off.
"He even sings it in the shower! The boy's obsessed!" She had this wicked grin on her face, and I caught Cole blushing from the corner of my eye. I tried my best to hide my smile as he started to stutter, denying Sophie's claim.
"Hey. It's okay, really. I sing Superman in the shower all the time." I gave my own shrug before Cole held up a finger. We all nodded as he got up and ran behind the screen. That's when Kylie held out her phone to me.
"Girl. I'm texting Dana. I'M TEXTING DANA!" She squealed out the words, and I wrapped her in a hug.
"Girl, I told you Dylie would happen. But do you ever listen to Mama Penguin? Nooooo." I stuck my tongue out at her, and she returned it just as Cole came back, a huge grin on his face. I raised my eyebrow at him. "Why so cheery, Pendery?" His grin got bigger as he sat back down on the stage.
"Well. If you'll agree to it. I got Jill to agree to let you sing during one of our breaks." My heart stopped. All I could feel was Sophie and Kylie hugging me, and all I could do was keep looking at Cole. I hadn't even realized he'd spoken until he answered me. "Of course I'm serious. And maybe...If you do Perfect...I can sing it with you? It seems like it would be a great duet." I was going to die. Plain and simple. This, was the best day of my life.
Sophie finally nudged me back to reality. "Um..Yes! I'd love to! That would be so awesome!" Of course, I was freaking out. I didn't do crowds. I was horrible with a bunch of people staring at me. But I couldn't pass up an opportunity to sing in front of this many people, possibly with a member of a famous boy band!
Cole's grin widened as he hopped off of the stage. Of course, it was hard to hear him over all of the screaming behind us. The fangirls had started lining up. He leaned forward and whispered to me, grabbing onto my hand. I instantly latched on to Kylie, who grabbed Sophie. "Come on. Let's get back stage and figure this out, then." I nodded as he led us all around the stage, into a small little tent where the other boys were.
The normal greeting came. Sophie flopped down on her brother, who was between Gabe and Will, and Kylie shyly sat on the floor in front of Dana. I, on the other hand, was dragged to a set of bean bag chairs in the corner, a printed out sheet sitting on each of them. I picked it up before I sat down. it was my song. I gave a bit of a smile to Cole, who returned it without hesitation. "Well then. Let's get working." We scooted the chairs closer, pens in hand, and started to work out the details of the song.
