"Those are Dragons!"

Viola couldn't stop her self from blurting out when she saw the ginormous beast enter the arena. She hit Hugo hard on the shoulder.

"Hugo! Look! Dragons!"

"Ow!" Hugo cried out, grabbing his shoulder. "I agree it's brilliant, But there is no way I could possibly miss seeing that giant thing!"

Ava laughed, but Viola ignored both of them. She jumped to her feet.

"I have to get closer."

With that Viola set off through the crowd to get as close as possible to the dragon. She pushed her way through a clump of people so she was right by the railings of the stadium.

Her brown eyes were wide as she stared at the dragon. Viola recognized it as a Swedish Short-Snout by its bluish-gray scales and, of course, its short snout.

"Look, there's Cedric!" Hugo cried as him, Ava and Clemi came scrambling up behind Viola.

Viola glanced around to see a nervous looking Cedric Diggory entering the arena. He was sporting Hufflepuff colors as well as a green face and his wand was gripped tightly in his hand.

"Go Cedric!" Hugo yelled loudly.

All the other Hufflepuffs were shouting their support as well.

There were several shrill screams as the dragon noticed Cedric. Her enormous wings spread across her eggs protectively.

Ludo Bagman announced with his magically magnified voice that it was the champions job to try and get the golden egg nested amongst all the others.

It was quite an exciting chase. Cedric transfigured a rock in a dog in an attempt to distract the dragon. It sort of worked. The crowd screamed, shouted as the dragon took after the Labrador, and Cedric bolted for the eggs.

Viola couldn't keep her eyes off the magnificent beast as it chased after the dog, then whirled around to run in the direction. She watched as it's jaws opened and let out a billow of fire.

Hugo screamed. Viola looked around in bewilderment.

"Hugo, what're you screaming for?" Viola asked, eyes wide.

"Did you not see?" demanded Hugo.

"Cedric just got burned," said Ava.

"Wait, really?" said Viola.

Her head swung around to see Cedric in the arena. Sure enough he was gripping a wound beneath his singed yellow shirt. But he was grinning triumphantly as he held his golden egg aloft. The stadiums had erupted into cheers.

The dragon tamers had rushed in to contain the dragon. One of them had hair as red as Ginny Weasley.

"I hope Cedric is okay," said Hugo, craning his neck around so he could watch Cedric exiting the arena.

"I'm sure he will be," said Ava comfortingly.

The whole task was actually very exciting for Viola. She'd always wanted to see a dragon closeup, and now she got to see four of them.

The next dragon was a Welsh-Green. Fluer Delacour was the one versing it.

There was one terrifying (and slightly amusing) moment when her skirt caught fire. She put it out quickly though.

When Viktor Krum came out to face a Chinese Fireball, the majority of the girl's in the stand started cheering for him. Viola rolled her eyes, but then moments later she herself started screaming. But it was for a much different reason - Viktor hit the dragon in the eye with a spell. The creature panicked, and started trampling around and ended up squishing half the real eggs.

"No!" Viola shrieked jumping out of her seat in alarm. "Those are real live baby dragons! What are you doing you idiot? Why would you do that?

Viola fell back in her seat and covered her face with her hands. She was unable to look at the smashed eggshells on the ground.

Hugo patted her on the back sympathetically.

Ginny sat in the stadiums with Hermione and Ron as the dragon tamers, including Charlie, cleaned up the broken eggshells and started putting out the new ones.

"Harry's next," said Hermione with a moan. "I can't watch!"

"He'll be all right," grunted Ron.

Ginny looked at her brother. She could tell he was a lot more worried than he was letting on. His face was white from a combination of nerves and cold. Despite the fact that they hadn't spoken recently, it was his best friend who was about to go up against a full sized dragon.

Ginny herself felt very nervous for Harry, but she was trying not to show it. Her hands gripped the edge of the seat beneath her.

"There's the dragon," cried Ginny as a huge, spiky black thing came lumbering into the arena.

"Oh my God," said Hermione, her eyes widening. "Harry has to go up against that thing?"

Her question was answered as Harry came walking slowly into the pen. Ginny felt a pang as she saw how small and scared he looked. But his chin was also set with determination. Ginny was sure he'd do well.

"Go Harry!" Ginny heard Colin shriek from not far off.

Hermione cupped her hands over her mouth and shouted, "Whoo! Harry! You got this!"

She elbowed Ron. Ron looked around at her. "What?"

"Cheer for your best friend you idiot!" said Ginny.

"C'mon Harry," Ron called in a low voice.

Ginny and Hermione both rolled their eyes.

"Well, I guess it's a start," said Ginny.

Harry just stood there for a moment, looking around. He seemed completely oblivious to the cheers and boos coming at him from the surrounding audience.

Him and the dragon made eye contact. Ginny tensed. Then Harry raised his wand.

"Accio firebolt!" he shouted.

The crowd let out a collective gasp as, after a moment, Harry's wand came zooming toward him out of nowhere.

Harry grabbed onto his broom, jumped on, and shot off into the air.

From that moment on it was a crazy series of dodges, jolts and dips as Harry dodged the dragons fire and tried to dive down to get the egg.

Beside Ginny, Hermione was digging her fingernails into her skin as she gripped her cheeks in fear.

Harry flew high into the air, so high the dragon had no choice but to follow. It took after Harry.

Ron jumped into his feet and started cheering as loudly as he could.

"Go Harry! Go Harry!"

Ginny joined in.

Harry dived before the dragon had time to see what he was doing. He dove down, snatched up the golden egg and then with a huge spurt of speed he was off, soaring out over the stands.

The crowd erupted. Even people who weren't supporting Harry as the Hogwarts champion were cheering for him.

Ginny couldn't stop grinning.

"That was really -" started Ginny, but then she stopped.

Ron and Hermione were already gone, Hermione dragging Ron after her as they sped through the crowd.

"Where are you going?" Ginny hollered, but the two didn't hear her.

Ginny folded her arms across her chest in vague annoyance.

"I guess I'll just go find someone else to walk with then," said Ginny.

She quickly spotted some friends walking nearby and she ran to join them.

"I just want to have a quick look," said Viola as she walked down the path that lead to the exit door of the arena.

"But I wanted to go talk to Cedric!" complained Hugo.

Along with Ava and Clemi, he was following Viola.

"Fine then," said Viola. "You go see Cedric, while Ava, Clemi and I go see the dragons."

She was still walking. Hugo pushed out his lower lip into a pouty expression.

"But I want you guys to come!" he whined.

"No," said Clemi.

"Please?"

"No Hugo," said Ava.

"Pretty please?"

"No," said Viola.

"Aw, cmon guys!" said Hugo. "We need to show Cedric our support!"

"NO!" said all three girls together.

"We can see him later," added Ava.

"I'm going to start singing the school song until you guys give in," said Hugo stubbornly. He crossed his arms over his chest, then opened his mouth and started to sing. "Hogwarts, Hogwarts Hog warty Hogwarts-"

"Oh my," groaned Clemi.

"Teach is something please - whether we be old and bald, or young with scabby knees!"

People around them were staring to stare.

"Hugo! Shut up!" said Viola urgently.

"Our heads could do with filling, with interesting stuff -"

"Please stop," groaned Ava with a laugh, looking more amused than angry.

"For now they're bare and full of dead air and bits of fluff! So teach us things worth knowing, bring back what we forgot-"

"Find!" yelled Clemi. "I'll go with you if you'll just shut up!"

Viola glanced back at Hugo to see him grinning at a disgruntled Clemi.

"Who even came up with that song?" Clemi demanded.

"Clementine Sargent-" started Hugo.

"Don't call me Clementine."

"Clementine, you're a savior."

"Yeah, whatever," said Clemi.

Hugo looked like he probably would've gone in for a hug if Clemi hadn't turned on her heel and started walking in the opposite direction.

"C'mon let's go," said Clemi.

Hugo stuck out his tongue at Viola and Ava, then turned and followed Clemi.

Ava laughed as they watched the two Hufflepuffs walked away, than she glanced at Viola.

"Do you think those two will ever end up as a couple?" Ava asked.

Viola laughed.

"Hugo and Clemi?" Viola snorted. "I'd sooner expect Snape and Gilderoy Lockhart to get together, but I guess you never know. Let's hurry. I don't want to miss the dragons."

Viola broke into a jog and Ava came hurrying after her. They arrived at the exit of the stadium just as the red headed dragon tamer was coming out.

"Excuse me," said Viola as she approached. "Are all the dragons out of the arena?"

The red head looked around at her in surprise.

"Oh, yep. We were just taking the the last one," said the young man.

"Oh," said Viola. Her shoulders slumped in disappointment. "I guess there's no chance of us getting to see them then?" She looked at the boy hopefully.

"Well," said the boy, rubbing his neck. "We aren't allowed to let any students near them."

"Oh," said Viola again, with as much disappointment as before.

"They're right down there though," said the redhead, pointing.

Viola looked in the direction opposite of the way they had come. There was the huge black dragon Harry Potter had faced.

"The Hungarian Horntail!" said Viola excitedly.

"Yeah, actually," said the man in surprise. "I'm impressed. Not many people know there dragon breeds."

"I love animals," said Viola, immediately talkative now that the subject had arrived. "I have a rat, a snake and a bat as pets. I've always wanted to see a dragon! They are such magnificent creatures! And I also-"

"Charlie! I didn't know you were coming!" cried a voice happily, interrupting Viola.

Viola looked around as Ginny approached, grinning. She hugged the redheaded dragon tamer.

"Oh, well, I'd better go," said Viola.

She hardly spared Ginny a glance before she turned and started walking away as fast as she could.

"Bye! Nice talking to you!" the redhead man, Charlie, who Viola assumed was Ginny's brother, called.

Viola gave a vague wave without looking back.ย ย

๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿฆ‡๐Ÿฆ‡

After visiting Charlie and running into Viola, Ginny headed up to the castle. She ran into Hermione in the great hall where people were still streaming in, chattering loudly about the First Task.

Ginny was surprised to find Hermione in hysterics.

"Hermione!" said Ginny in alarm. "What happened?"

Her cheeks were red and tears were streaming down them.

"Your brother and Harry happened!" cried Hermione. "They are such -such - such - idiots!"

The Hermione took off, wailing like she was Moaning Myrtle.

"Alright then," said Ginny, with a confused frown.

After that a party was thrown in the Gryffindor common room. Ginny wasn't sure why Hermione was so worked up as the boys seemed to be getting along perfectly well.

"What happened to Hermione?" Ginny asked Ron.

"I dunno," said Ron with a shrug. He was piling his plate high with food. "Me and Harry made up, then she went mental."

Either way, it was nice to see the two boys together again. In fact, Ginny hadn't seen either of them look to happy since Fred and George accidentally gave themselves beards . . .
