Kyle POV

The last few weeks have been terrifying. It's like someone is out to get me. I get these threatening messages and it would help if I know what I did but I don't. It's really annoying. People bumping into me and lashing a finger across their throat signifying a threat of death. What did I do wrong? Sometimes I think I'm hallucinating but it's real.

I got to school today in Sawyer's car. I can't be driving when I know I might have an accident. I haven't told anyone, not Lilia, not Eugenia, not the guys, no one. Eugenia is scared of me and Lilia suspects something is wrong because I'm sometimes paranoid. You can't blame me. I don't eat from home because I think it might be poisoned. I mean if someone can get to my room and write on my mirror in blood without being seen I think poisoning my food would be easy. So instead I buy food or snacks from the mall and pick from a wide range of snacks. They can't poison the whole rack I guess. I also don't leave my food and drinks unattended and I lock my room steadily. I don't wanna die.

I hung my backpack on my shoulder and walked into the school. Girls flashing me smiles and boys staring at my stern face. I want to be left alone and I'm not really in the mood for bullshit today. These past events have made me quite cold and distant.

I sat through two classes before lunch. The rest of the class? I missed them. For some reason, I felt irritated and for every question the teacher asked me I either ignored or gave them offensive remarks so I figured it was best I miss the rest of the class rather than get into detention.

Ring, ring, ring, rin- I sighed, it is Lilia.

I picked the phone and put it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Kyle where are you?"

"Back of the school."

"Come to the cafeteria."

I sighed. "Lilia I-" she hung up.

Lilia POV

Amira and I  got to our table and greeted Caleb and Sawyer while noticing Kyle's absence.

"Where is Kyle?" I asked.

Caleb shrugged. "I don't know, for some reason he has been distant."

I sighed and picked my phone to call Kyle.

"Hello?" He said softly.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"Back of the school."

"Come to the cafeteria," I said and hung up not even caring about what he has to say.

For some time now Kyle has been behaving weird. He keeps this blank face, doesn't talk much and hardly comes to school. I've asked him repeatedly what's wrong but he has been saying nothing. It gets me really annoyed and irritated. It's like he doesn't want anyone to disturb him and has this killer look.

I'm confused and scared. Has he stopped liking me? Did I do anything wrong? Is he going through some difficulties? Honestly, I could help if I knew what was wrong and even if he doesn't trust me enough for some reason he should talk to the boys. He should just say something!

My thoughts got interrupted by the slamming of a tray on the table. He's here with a cold expression on his face. I, Amira, Sawyer and Caleb kept giving each other glances till I retired to continue eating. He wants silence, let's give him.

I stepped out of the school building waving to Amira without saying a word to Kyle. I tightened my jacket around myself trying to preserve the warmth till I reach the cafe. Setting my backpack comfortably on my shoulder I walked on the sidewalk getting weird looks from the other walkers like there was something wrong with me, whatever.

I walked into the cafe heading to the back room to set my stuff up. I was just saying random stuff to the co-worker when the doorbell chimed signalling customers have arrived. I hurried out greeting the family while asking them for their orders.

I felt my heart sink looking at them as I brewed fresh coffee for the parents. I wished I had this kind of love and affection.

I served the drinks to the waiting family earning words of gratitude from the three beautiful kids. The family soon left and I was left attending to the rest of the customers that came in.

After an hour of bustling about trying to quickly get the drinks out to the many customers I was exhausted. We were three who worked here apart from the manager who is hardly ever around. Together we were serving drinks and helping customers to choose their desired coffee.

It was late in the evening when the cafe quieted down and we started cleaning up. By the time we were finished, I checked the clock and it read 9:15. I'm done! I quickly gathered my stuff waving to my co-workers before heading out the door, into the cold.

I got on the bus and watched through the window as it moved on the road. I looked at my phone, no message, no calls. Not once has Kyle crossed my mind while working in the cafe.

I struggled with the keys sighing in relief when I heard the familiar click of the lock opening and pushed open the door stepping into my house. I set my bag on the stand at the side of my room, slipping off my jacket and my shoes. I plopped on my bed and closed my eyes sighing. I'm not hungry just tired. I decided I was going to text Kyle. His silence is somewhat disturbing.

Lia💞: Hola novio😏

I waited for a couple of minutes before he replied.

Kyle❤: Hey

Hey? Just hey? Ugh! This guy is impossible.

Lia💞: What's up with you?

Kyle❤: Nothing.

Of course, he was going to say nothing he acts like he doesn't need help.

Lia💞: Why have you been distant?

Kyle❤: Just because.

Lia💞: Just because? Kyle everyone is scared. You're not talking, you keep a stern face, you behave like you're a ticking bomb ready to explode.

Kyle❤: Okay.

Lia💞: Okay?! Just okay? Kyle, tell me what's wrong, what's happening, I need to know, you are scaring me, you are scaring us.

Kyle❤: Lia there's nothing wrong, I'm just going through some things on my own. It will be alright.

Lia💞: And you expect me to believe that?

Kyle❤: How was work today?

Oh so now he is deviating!

Lia💞: Kyle please take care of yourself and settle what's wrong. I need my boyfriend back😔

Kyle❤: Lol sure babe❤❤❤

Lia💞: So... work was good, I'm exhausted though.

Kyle❤: oh, you should rest...

Lia💞: I know I know...

Kyle❤: I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Lia💞: Love you!

Kyle❤: Yo también te amo❤

Aww, Spanish! I'm in love!

I walked into class, today is going to be a good day. Mid-terms were over and after two long gruelling weeks I could finally relax again. To celebrate midterms being over we planned to hit the club tonight. Kyle is back to normal and I couldn't be happier. It's like whatever troubles he was facing vanished. I didn't even bother asking him what he was battling then. For some reason, I think if I raise the issue up he would go back to his old self so its best I keep shut.

I took my seat and waved to Amira mouthing 'hi.' A few people were in class but I got there early. I and Amira sat next to each other and waited for everyone to file in.

Class today went by slowly. I almost plucked my eyes out from staring all day at the teachers. Some classes were annoying as usual for example history, some were fun like art and some were just there like Math. I decided to ride today with Amira since I was still going to see Kyle tonight.

Amira's mom came to pick us from school and boy she's nice. She's fun and jovial just like her daughter and guess what, she had a scarf on, serious Muslim, unlike Amira.

"Your mom has a scarf on," I whispered to Amira from the back seat.

"So?" She whispered back.

"So she's a good Muslim."

"So I'm a bad one?" Amira asked raising her eyebrow.

"Sort of," I said chuckling.

"You..." She trailed off throwing a tissue at me while giggling.

I easily dodged it and threw it back at her smirking.

"So mom I'm having a sleepover at Lilia's," Amira said.

"Tonight?" Her mom asked, her eyes still on the road.

"Yep!"

"No problem. Lilia you guys already talked about this?"

"Yes," I replied, smiling.

"Okay, I'll drop you off by nine then."

"Thanks, mom."

Wow, look at how Amira swiftly lied to her mom. So Cliche!  Even I couldn't have done that. Amira knows her mom won't allow her to go to the club so she's using my house as a getaway.

"Thanks! See you by nine Amira!" I say to Amira and her mom while they smile and wave goodbye.

I walked into my house eager to just sink into the warmth and comfort of my bed after the exhausting day at school. I felt my heart stop as I heard the sound of the television from the living room. I didn't turn on the TV before leaving for school, in fact, I don't turn on the TV so I'm shocked as to why it's on. Looking around for a weapon I spotted an iron rod and grabbed it. My stature wasn't intimidating at all in fact any strong person could carry me with an arm.

I walked into the dark living room cautiously and slowly despite how fast my heart was racing. The curtain was down and the living room appeared pitch black. The only light that was seen was the one from the television. I looked ahead and saw a figure sitting on the couch watching a TV programme. I gave up trying to be cautious and raced towards the couch. I raised the rod in the air preparing to hit the burglar on the head when he turned to face me.

"What the hell?!"

"Kyle?! What are you doing here?" I yelled, absolutely exasperated.

"Why did you try to hit me?"

"I thought you were a thief or a murderer!" I said a little freaked out trying to calm my racing heart. Why scare me, he should have just said he was coming by. The most important question is how he got in. I didn't give him my keys.

"How did you get in?" I asked still pissed. He made my heart race for nothing.

He turned back to the television holding the remote while flicking through the channels. "Why do you have crappy stations." He said not even minding my rage.

"Kyle! that's not what I asked you." I bite out through gritted teeth.

He turned his head to look at me. "Anger doesn't look good on you." He said smiling.

Ugh! How can I stay mad at this face?

I sighed trying to calm myself down.

"You scared me. I almost had a heart attack."

He stood up and walked to me. "But you didn't, that's a good thing." He smirked leaning to plant a kiss on my forehead.

"Why didn't I see your car outside?" I asked confused.

"I parked it around the corner."

Oh, assuming I saw it I wouldn't be startled.

"I need to go take a shower," I said while working away.

"Ok, I'll join you soon." I heard Kyle call after me making me spin my head around to look at him.

"Don't even dare!"

"Watch me." He said smirking.

"I'm gonna lock the doors and I expect you to sit here."

"I can't just sit here! The television is shitty!"

"Well, you were watching it before I came, continue!" I said, running up the stairs to lock the door to my room. Pervert!
