Third Person POV
It was past midnight and the two were seated in a 24 hour café in New York. The café was far from fancy and it had barely any customers at this hour.
Oddly this reminded V of their first date. The first time he had finally convinced her to see him after failing several times.
"So... how are you?" V spoke up first. He watched the way Jisoo's eyes focused on the coffee in front of her, stirring it continuously. It was probably cold at that point.
Jisoo could only mentally curse the director who insisted on making her come with him. That also includes Dara, what kind of manager trusts a stranger with their artists?!
"I'm good." Jisoo responded blatantly, cutting the conversation short.
V wasn't surprised. Actually he expected the outcome to be worse. He thought the next time he saw Jisoo, she would have at least thrown something at him or punched him. He knew he deserved it.
The scenario from that night still taunts him till this day. It was a constant replay of that night that appears as a nightmare each nightfall. This explains his consistent lack of sleep, aside from their tours.
"I saw you recently had your final show of the Nutcracker last night. Congrats." V tried to start another conversation.
"Were you the one who sent those flowers?" Jisoo coldly asks.
V began to rub his nape, "uh— actually... yes, yes I did." He confesses.
Jisoo still refuses to look his way, she grabs a sip of her now cold coffee, "Why?" Her blunt questions continue to keep V on eggshells around her.
"Wh—what do you mean, why?" He asked, confused.
Finally Jisoo stared at V, who to no surprise was already looking at her.
"Why did you send me flowers? It's been five years V."
V began to feel nervousness, his body temperature rising and sweat began to slowly form. He didn't quite know the answer himself.
Maybe it was due to his wishful thinking that maybe, just maybe, he could finally have the chance to right his wrongs. Now that he's famous he finally has the confidence to approach her.
V opens his mouth slowly, but Jisoo grows impatient, cutting him off.
"You know what. Just cut to the chase V. Why did you really bring me here?"
"Wait isn't that— THAT'S V FROM BTS!" Loud whispers and passersby caught the two by surprise.
"Who's that girl? That's not Jennie right?!" More scattered voices are heard.
Jisoo stood up abruptly and placed a fifty dollar bill on the table.
The server that night definitely got lucky with that huge tip.
"Wha-" V looked at her with confusion but before he could comprehend the situation, Jisoo took the initiative and grabbed him by his wrists.
V was left no choice but to follow her.
The two began to run, run away from those fans that had spotted them, with their hands wrapped around each other.
Jisoo was leading the way while V looked at her from behind, memorizing this very moment because he knows it'll be over soon.
After several minutes of running with no stop, Jisoo arrived at her desired destination.
She let go of the grip around his wrists, crouching down as she pants for air.
V on the other hand, looked around trying to identify where Jisoo had taken him.
Jisoo began to walk towards the entrance of a building, punching in the code before she finally decided to turn back, "what aren't you gonna come in?"
V kept a safe distance behind Jisoo, making sure he's not invading her bubble. His eyes continue to roam around the apartment. Seeing that it's located in central New York, the price for this apartment definitely was not on the cheap side.
Jisoo unlocked the door to her apartment, removing her shoes and jacket upon entry and walked her way towards her living room.
"You can just put your coat there." Jisoo pointed at her couch.
Now the two is back at square one, the awkward atmosphere, silence that fills the room, and a greater gap between the two.
Jisoo sat in one end of the couch, and V sat on the other.
"So this is your place?" V started a small conversation.
"Yeah. I just moved in like a year ago, it's closer to NYCB." Jisoo answered back.
"Cool... Ho-how have you been?" V dared to ask another question.
"Look V, we both know you didn't just ask for coffee for small conversations. Can you just get to the point?" Jisoo has had enough. She didn't need this, she didn't need to rekindle and make up with her ex.
V took a large gulp of his saliva before cautiously opening his mouth.

flashback — five years ago
It's been two weeks since V and his band have been on tour, two weeks till their Busan show, their last stop.
"Man I'm exhausted." Jungkook complained as they sat on the small couch in their dressing room backstage.
"Can you believe the crowd tonight though? This one has definitely been the loudest." Jin remarked.
"Did you see the girl in red, front row? She's hot. I'll be taking her out later." Yoongi overly shares.
This would have been a normal conversation between the boys in the past. Seeing ladies during their tour and having no string attached relationships was not uncommon. But that phase is over for Jungkook and most especially V.
"Man you need to get cuffed." V responded, slightly disappointed at his friend.
"Okay, JISOO. Can't believe you're such a simp over a girl. Who would've thought our number one playboy would turn out like this." Yoongi mocked back.
"Oh shut up you little fuc-" V was unable to finish his sentence when one of the crew members entered their room.
"V, someone here is asking for you." the girl informed.
V was already up and had Yoongi in an armlock, he removed his hold around him and left the room in anticipation.
"Is my girl surprising me again?" V thought in excitement. It's been a week since he last saw her, when she surprised him at their show in Incheon along with Rosé.
Weirdly the crew lead V to a black Mercedes. "She's just waiting for you inside."
V found the whole set up to be odd, why is someone asking to meet him, especially privately in a car, now he was definitely losing confidence this was Jisoo.
Without asking any further questions, V entered the car hesitantly.
Upon opening the door, a female sat dignified, her arms and legs crossed.
"Why does she look familiar?" V thought.
V sat reluctantly and closed the door.
"Kim Taehyung, BTS V in short, correct?" The unknown female asked.
V was taken by surprise upon hearing his real name. Hardly anyone knew of it, he hated it, because it was his past that he wanted to forget. So how can this stranger possibly know?
"How—"
"I'm BoA. Jisoo's ballet teacher."
V immediately straightened himself out, his palms rested on his thighs as he bowed deeply.
"Sorry I did not recognize you, BTS'S V imnida." V formally introduces himself.
"How serious are you with Jisoo?" BoA wasn't hesitant and went straight to the point.
This was a question that took V by a surprise he almost choked on his own saliva.
"I am very serious with Jisoo Ma'am. I intend to spend the rest of my life with her if she lets me." V answered honestly.
"Based on my background check, you're a playboy, you barely lasted a month with the same girl."
Yes. BoA was right. V was a playboy, but that's the past. Prior to meeting Jisoo, V never believed in commitment. How can he when the two people he loved the most, his parents, showed him that there is no forever in love. Every relationship fails.
But then he met Jisoo, she was different. She captivated him in a way he never expected, he was changed just by her mere presence and before he knew it, he was in love.
For the first time, V fell in love, saw a future with someone, had something to treasure and cherish.
"That was my past Ma'am, but I can assure you that I love Jisoo, and only Jisoo." V spoke confidently but remained respectful.
"Alright then. I was hoping you'd say that." BoA answered back.
"This should be easy then. You say you love her, so break up with her." BoA didn't even stutter saying those difficult words.
V's mouth slightly hangs open, he couldn't respond immediately as he needed time to process if he heard her correctly.
"Sorry Ma'am, I don't think I understand what yo—"
"You've been nothing but a distraction to my star ballerina. You will hinder her success and all the years of effort she put into this, will all go to waste because of your so-called love." BoA cut him off.
"Do you even understand that Jisoo is the breadwinner of her family? She has three other siblings. Her mother is unemployed and her father is just a mere factory worker."
"Her family has trusted me and their money in hopes that she will succeed. I believe she will succeed, as long as you're not in the picture."
"Ever since she met you, her practice hours in the studio has decreased. Because she's too busy going out on dates with you! Her auditions are less than a month away! The most important audition of her life."
"If Jisoo loses ballet, she will crumble. Ballet is who she is, ballet defines her."
"Without you, she will blossom like the beautiful flower she is and fly like a swan that she will become."
"So Taehyung, if you truly love her..."
"Let her go."
