"jasmine cephas jones: the love of my life, my dear, my everything. i love you more than words can describe. every single time you walk into a room i get excited to see you. every single time we kiss i can feel the sparks fly. every morning when i wake up to see you still sound asleep i fall for you again," anthony spoke with a dumb look on his face just showing how much love he had for me. people in the restaurant started to crane their necks to see what was going on.
my boyfriend opened the ring box he had gotten from his pants pocket, "would you do me the honor of promising to me mine forever and always?"
tears were starting to escape my eyes and i wiped them away with my finger. "what are you saying?" i questioned.
"i can't wait to propose and ask you to become my wife, but i want it to be romantic. i want to ask your parents for permission, i want to film it, and i want everyone to be there. i know we're young and have only been together for a few months but i wanted to make sure you knew how much i love you. what i'm trying to ask is- would you, jasmine, want to be engaged-to-be-engaged to me?"
"a billion times yes!" i squealed and jumped into his arms. he held me like he never wanted to let go and we mumbled "i love you" into each other's hair.
we pulled apart and heard people cheering for us. i smiled at them and sat back down at our table for two. anthony took my left hand and slipped the ring on.
"you couldn't have picked a better ring!" i exclaimed to anthony in awe. it was a simple silver band with a small heart and i loved it. i leaned across the table and pecked his lips.

i'm very glad that went well because my nerves were everywhere. i wasn't even this much of a wreck during any of my shows- ever. oak and daveed had to calm me down earlier when i was getting ready.
i was so lucky- i have a girlfriend who is absolutely beautiful inside and out, i have a part in a successful almost-broadway show, and wonderful friends and family.
as far as our future was concerned, i knew we would have little angels with a bounties of curls and be a tight-knit family.
"anthony are you okay?" jasmine asked, shaking me out of my daydreams.
"yeah i'm fine. i was just picturing our future together," i smiled.
she rolled her eyes a bit, "i'm guessing we have the curly haired children pippa and renee always talk about?"
"you bet!"
"watch us have a little baby with completely straight hair!"
"you're right they've probably already jinxed baby ramos," i told her and we both burst into laughter.
the desserts that we ordered came along with a small cake that said 'congrats!' because of my proposal. jasmine ordered the chocolate lover's dish and i ordered a slice of cheese cake.
we finished our desserts quickly and took the cake home to eat later, and had come to the decision to walk back to our apartment.
when we got home, the two of us changed into pjs and snuggled together in our bed.
i faced jazzy and leaned my forehead against hers. "you're gorgeous, do you know that?" i tell her.
"only because you tell me all the time," she laughed.
"i can't wait until we get married and go on a honeymoon and have kids and watch them grow up and be with you."
she smiled at me, "let's imagine our wedding. i bet everyone will be there and i'll wear a beautiful dress-"
"and i'll be dressed in suit and tie," i interrupted.
"and it will be magical!"
i smirked and said, "then on our honeymoon we're going to really enjoy ourselves when we don't leave the bed for the whole vacation." that earned an eye roll from jasmine.
"if we're going somewhere fun i gonna go exploring and swimming during the day, but you've got me all night ramos," she said.
"deal." we shook hands.
"what about our kids?" jazzy asked.
"curly hair, lots of energy, musical talent, and loves us."
"i think that sounds fairly accurate."
"do you want them to grow up being 'the kid with the famous parents' though?"
i had to think about this one for a bit before answering, "i don't know. it could give them more opportunities, but people could also just be friends with them because of us."
"yeah," she nodded. "i mean i grew up kind of like that and i'm fine, but i also don't know if i want that for my kid."
"but then when the kids leave we get to have grandchildren and spoil them," i said, picturing it.
"and then we grow old together," jas laughed, and god i love her laugh.
"i can't wait to spend everyday with you."
"me neither," she agreed.
and we laid in bed just like that. very close together and very loving.
