As we all know, level 8 is in no way fun.
The cave system is extremely dangerous, because of the darkness, because of the entities, the bacterias, etc ...
Many people who wandered as far as this level, never managed to get out alive, even if it is groups that can go up to twenty people, with full protection.
Things there can escalate very quickly.
For example at one moment, everything is somewhat peaceful, but the other...

You'll be running and screaming for help while something hunts you down.

The group you were in begged you to stay with them in a safer level back then, but you didn't listen to them.
It's funny how you managed to make such a silly mistake, really.

You were roaming around trying to find your way through the caves, you still had a little spark of determination even after being chased and hurt so many times.
But having determination doesn't mean not being worried and scared.

Plus, you could feel your determination slowly disappearing the more you walked deeper in these claustrophobic, tight spaces.
You silently prayed that this couldn't get worst by accidentally going into the hive, accidentally drinking something you shouldn't have ... or meeting another entity, or worst.

Entities.

The thought made you shiver, just thinking or saying the word entity almost made you have a panic attack.

You went into a darker space and tried to find your way with your hands.

You touched a wall, only to realize that it was damaged.
But not in the more natural way...
In the way that something giant damaged it.

There was a humongous scratch on the wall.
It was so big that it reached the ceiling.
You started breathing heavily.

what could've possibly caused this ...?

After that discovery you immediately ran towards a lighter zone.
You knew that it wouldn't save you, but it did reassure you a little bit...
Until now.

After walking for a few hours, you were very tired but yet you still kept going.

You just sat a little bit to just take a break, even if you are in the middle of a fucking level that could kill you.
You looked around to check for the next way to go through.
But at the corner of your eye, you managed to distinguish a giant crack in the ceiling.

And it's at that moment you knew you were fucked.

Faint scratching started to echo around the walls of the cave system, only enlarging your worry more.
You could start noticing small reflections, like the reflections in the eyes of a spider.

You really started panicking at that point and you quickly got onto your legs.
But it was sadly, too late.

The spiders started crawling out of the crack, but not only from there, they were coming out of places you didn't even notice.

They were everywhere.

And to add onto that shit, these spiders were extremely dangerous and plus, you didn't really like spiders.
No actually you didn't like them at all.

You were surrounded by them and what you thought was your final time coming, a wrangler appeared from the shadows.

You noticed it and couldn't help but feel hypnotized by it.
But it seems like the spiders were too focused on you.
The wrangler continued moving towards the scene and started twisting it's body and started cutting the spiders into pieces, and literally just ate them like it was nothing.

When it ended it's massive genocide, it slowly turned towards you, and it made you snap out of your trance.

Now, it was your turn to turn into a meal.
That ain't in no way good.

You were about to start moving the hell out of there, when it unexpectedly stated speaking in a low distorted like voice :

''Hold on ! I'm not going to hurt you or turn you into a meal, human.''
You were very confused as to why a wrangler wouldn't take the opportunity to have more food for itself.
At the lack of response you were giving, the wrangler said another thing.
''Listen, I know you are probably confused but I want to help you get out of here only if you can give me a service back.''
You hesitated to respond, a wrangler wouldn't go through all the trouble of helping a human get out of here only to eat it or kill it later on ...
''Hmm ... okay. But could you tell me what is this 'service' you are talking about ?''
The wrangler looked at you and took a little moment to answer, but it still answered.
''So... you know, when you are an entity, most of the time, people will be scared of you and will run from you... right ?''
You nodded silently as a response.
''Well, i just wanted to ask if you could be my... uh.. friend ?''

You really weren't expecting that answer.

It just wanted a friend ?
''So all of this time you just wanted a friend ?''
The wrangler nodded it's head.
You gladly answered.
''Yes ! I'll be your friend !''
You could feel the wrangler starting to move around from joy.
''Thank you so much ! C'mon follow me, I'll get us out of here !''
You smiled excitedly and followed it.
''Also, thank you for saving me from those disgusting ass spiders earlier... I really appreciate it.''
The wrangler chuckled before answering.
''It's no problem, you're my friend now !''
