Yeah this has been rewritten for like... the second time, don't mind this lmao.
___________

Running throughout seemingly endless empty spaces, rooms and hallways, you thought how possibly could've you ended in this stressful and incoherent situation. The thing coursing after you at a rapid and inhuman pace is surely not normal, not a human and neither is it an animal, from what you could tell.

It all started normally, you were purely and simply having a normal, average day, you were having a race with your best friend, you both were racing to the local center park located not too far from your apartment.

''I bet you 10 bucks that I'm going to be the first to get there !'' Said your best friend in a daring tone.

''Oh you bet !'' You replied back with a playful tone.

While running and mid way on the path to the center park, you turned a really sharp corner and you ended up drifting and tripping from how fast you were running. And as you were embracing for the painful impact with the rough surface of the street's pavement, you didn't feel the hard stone floor, but you instead felt dizziness and a feeling of transportation, you ended up falling onto a carpet-like material.

You slowly and carefully opened your eyes, propping yourself up with the force of your arms and you looked around only to just realize that you weren't with your aforementioned best friend anymore. You weren't even on the way to the park.

You took note of your surroundings.

You were in an incredibly uncanny and yet somewhat familiar place, the zone you were in consisted of walls placed around randomly and in places they weren't even supposed to be in, the walls were decorated with a yellow-ish, old looking wallpaper with a faint pattern on it, covering the walls of many, many empty rooms, hallways and spaces. You could hear the unusually noisy buzzing of the lights hanging above you, which was already starting to annoy you very much.

Thinking you were daydreaming, you rubbed your eyes, hoping that you just got knocked out while falling and it was just you having a very weird, unusual dream.

But yet unfortunately, you weren't dreaming. While you were in your inner thoughts, you didn't realize that your feet started to become  damp, you looked down only to realize that the carpet you were standing on, was moist and wet, with a sickening yellowish color.

"Ew.'' You said with prominent disgust.

You really wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, the sound of the lights buzzing was starting to drive you mad and you didn't want to get weird stuff on your feet, plus, you weren't exactly fan of unknown and unnerving places where you were alone. Suddenly, a thought spiked up :

*''Wait ! Since I came from the ceiling, I could maybe come back home from there !''*

Although the idea may have seemed plainly stupid, it was better to try and test it than not do anything and stay here. You started jumping the highest you possibly could to try and reach the cheap, big tiled ceiling at the top.

You kept repeatedly jumping, desperate to try and at least touch it or something. But to no avail, it didn't work, the ceiling was too high up to reach it. But too distracted by what you were currently doing, you didn't notice a tall, wired, black entity detecting you from afar.

It's only when you heard loud steps and ear piercing screeching that you truly noticed it.

Your mind went blank for a split second and you started running, the only objective was getting as far away as possible from that thing, you avoided screaming because it might provoke the entity coursing after you even more.

____________

You were currently running from whatever the hell that thing was.

You're surprised that you managed to keep up for this long, it has been what seems like hours on an end, you couldn't exactly confirm, considering the fact that you didn't have a watch nor a phone at the moment, and you doubted that  it would work in this place.

Rushing as fast as you could with adrenaline still pumping through your veins and you heart racing like a car, your lungs burned and your legs were about to crumble from exhaustion.

While passing a corner, you spotted a few meters away from you what seemingly looked like a...-

red balloon ?!

*''What the hell is that thing doing here ?!''* you thought to yourself, your expression twisting in one of frightened confusion.

You thought that you were hallucinating, because something seemed to materialize out of nowhere behind the balloon, it slowly revealed itself and you immediately froze in your tracks.

The being that revealed itself before your very eyes was radically different than the one that is approaching dangerously fast to the spot you were currently at.

It had yellow-ish skin that looked like carpet, which somewhat reminded you of the carpet you were running on, it had a red face, it looked like it was directly and messily carved with a knife on the carpet material that the entity was composed of, you squinted your eyes and noticed that the face was carved with what looks like blood. Adding to that, the entity was pretty tall.

It reached the ceiling.

Although the entity's appearance appeared slightly friendlier than the one that was about to reach you, you sensed very high danger radiating off of it, which was telling you to get the hell out of there.

The yellow-ish entity twisted it's body to take a good look behind you, detecting the rushing entity around 9 meters away from tearing you apart.

It quickly motioned with it's head for you to quickly get behind it, you knew that it was either that or you'd get your face torn off.

You were worried about what was going to happen, the creature spoke up without turning back.

"There's no need to worry, Dear, I'll take care of this, my way. =)"

You tried processing the words spoken out, you saw the other entity arriving and suddenly stopping with a high pitched screech.

In less than a second, the monster in front of you swung it's arm at the throat of the dark entity, it clamped it's... hand teeth ? You didn't even realize it had those until now, around the screeching entity's throat, causing it to have heavy bleeding, it was gurgling out barely audible and painful screeches.

Although it was trying to kill you, you truly felt bad, but you were too afraid to do anything, as it might result to you getting the same treatment, you shakily covered your eyes, you hated seeing it suffer.

After what seemed like 2 minutes, the screeching stopped, you uncovered your eyes only to have them widen at the horrifying sight that was visible.

The thing that was chasing you previously, was lying on the floor, the corpse had severe wounds at it's wiry throat, it's head was hanging by a few slim treads of dark flesh, dark substance was leaking out of it's throat.

The sight was too much for your poor eyes, and your brain did you a favor, and decided to shut itself down.

With the very last bits of consciousness that were left, you felt yourself getting picked up in bridal style and a few faint words being spewed out, barely audible.

"Nighty night, Sweetie !~ =)"

Your eyes slightly twitched, and you slowly and cautiously opened them, your vision slightly blurry, you rubbed your eyes to see better.

You looked around, calculating your space, the zone you were in somewhat still looked apparent to the one you were in before fainting, except it had a few furnitures, like a mattress, the one you were laying on, a small nightstand with a lamp neatly posed at the top, with it's light flickering now and then.

You noticed there was no annoying buzzing lights in this space anymore, which you were pretty thankful for, though it did take away most of the light away and you couldn't see much, apart from the one on your nightstand.

The space looked a bit more like a room, it was small but big enough for it to not be claustrophobic.

You heard slow footsteps and you stopped breathing, you could see the thing that previously helped you quickly peek out of the corner of the wall.

Your heart started beating, not of love, duh, but of pure fear, you were stuck and you couldn't get out, so no matter where you would go, you'd get caught.

The first reflex that you got was to grab the small elderly looking night lamp standing on your bedside and point it towards the thing, if there wasn't any context to the situation, it would've been pretty comedic, actually.

It looked like your move amused the creature, who paid no mind to the fact you were literally threatening it with a goddamn lamp.

The being slowly approached you and you could feel yourself stressing more and more as the distance got smaller and smaller.

It raised it's arms in a comedic manner and with a somewhat glitched and high pitched tone, it exclaimed something that put you in disbelief :

"Hey, you shouldn't worry about me, i don't have any weapons on me right now ! =)"

You starred at him like he was a wizard of some sort, why was this thing acting all lovey dovey when it just killed something right in front of you with absolutely no mercy ?

"Dude ! You just killed someone in front of me, brought me here without my permission, and expect me to just accept it and trust you ?! You're sick !" You said, in a pretty angered tone, but not hostile enough to provoke it.

"Okay, look you little Martian, I couldn't leave you out in the open because you'd get mauled down by another entity, and if I didn't kill that thing, you'd literally be dead, what did you expect me to do ?" It said, with a matter of fact tone, which annoyed you because it was kinda right, but still.

"I'm still not letting you get closer to me, you carpet fetish rat."

___________

Even if you didn't want to stay with it, you decided it was best to just stay a bit because you were a newbie and had no idea what to do around this weird place.

During the first few days, you had maintained no trust towards this... what is it called again ?...

Oh right,

Partygoer.

That name was absolutely ridiculous for a creature, if you asked me, but you just had to stick to it for the time being.

The partygoer had offered you food, which was a cupcake, you refused it because you thought he was going to poison you and you really didn't want that, plus, who knows what he did with that...
It did ask you questions, those type of questions that you randomly ask people, like your name, your birthday, etc... it seemed like it genuinely wanted to get to know you.

The more days passed, the less you became suspicious of it.

"Please, you have to eat something, you'll starve. =(" it said, with a rather sad tone.

"How can I be sure you didn't poison it ?"  You sharply responded, you felt your stomach grumble of starvation, and you knew you had to aliment yourself in nutriments and calories if you didn't want to just embarrassingly die just because you didn't want to accept someone's food.

"You know what I did to that creature. I could've done the same to you if I wanted, yet I didn't. "

"..."

"Damnit."

The more weeks passed, the more you became neutral about him.

"Look ! I have drawn something for you ! =)" the partygoer was in front of you, it shoved the drawing in your hands, he was shaking with excitement.

Your eyes glanced down at the paper, and honestly you were shocked, the drawing was pretty decent, it was a drawing of you and him holding hands, the drawing was just innocent in your eyes, just a friendly, platonic drawing... but in his ? It was so much more than that.

You smiled, something that it rarely sees in you when you're next to him, it's an image it wants to keep deep in it's head, make sure that it's engraved in it's consciousness.

"That's a beautiful drawing."

Such words will stay with him.

Forever.

The more months passed, the more you became fond of him, the partygoer.

You learned to appreciate his company, turns out that when you get to know him, he's in reality a lonely partygoer, who has been wandering these spaces for who knows long, in a desperate and feeble attempt to grasp at the single once of comfort he could ever find, even if it's just for a few seconds.

He gave you shelter, he gave you delicious cupcakes, he gave you safety, he gave you comfort, he gave you happiness.

_______________

Partygoer was sitting on the floor, he was drawing on the walls of your room, those walls that you had become oh so familiar with over the course of these few months. You were happy here, but something felt oddly ... wrong for some obscure reason.

You were zoning out and starring at him draw moments that you both spent together, out of pure memory. You haven't asked him about it, but you guessed partygoers were far more intelligent than the average entity here, and it seemed like they had an incredibly good memory, even better than that of a simple human.

You felt bad thinking about this, but... the routine that is now your life is becoming way too repetitive and extremely boring, and your family and friends were starting to reallyyyyyy miss you.

You liked this partygoer, not as a lover, but as a true best friend, and you felt bad about this but you wanted to really get out of this place.

You got snapped out of your thoughts when the partygoer quickly stood up without the use of it's arms, and quickly left the room with a bit of a hurry.

3 minutes later, you saw it come back in the room with another one of his delicious cupcakes, you smiled, but it immediately died down, and the partygoer noticed it.

"Hey ? What's wrong, did something happen ?!"

Something that you had noticed, but that you yet tried brushing off, was the fact he was always panicking about you. He didn't want to leave you alone and when he did, he would always come back in less than 3-5 minutes or so. He was really concerned about you, so much it was becoming overbearing and all you did in return is try to suck it up and act like nothing is happening.

You silently took the cupcake out of his spiked hand, you just decided that you were going to tell him about your plan of going out of here after eating your pastry. You knew the partygoer would be very upset, but you didn't want to stay here any longer.

Without a word, you ate the sugary dish, all while the partygoer was starring at you, with a look of worry and concern.

You starred back at him. You had just finished devouring your food. You're going to miss eating those, they tasted amazing.

You let out a tired sigh that you didn't know you were holding until now, you spoke up.

"Look... You're an amazing partygoer, I appreciated every single moment I have spent with you till now. But you see... I'm a human, and humans... they can't live here, and uhm..."

You were trying to explain the situation in the most comprehensible and calm manner but your words were running out and you felt a wrong energy coming out of him.

You went quiet, something was wrong. He wasn't saying anything and his look didn't tell you anything good whatsoever.

"So. What you are currently telling me, is that you don't want to stay with me..."

You gulped, your pupils shrunk and you quickly stood up, the adrenaline started flowing through your veins for the first time in a long time.

"YOU WANT TO LEAVE ME LIKE THE REST OF THEM !!!"

____________

You ran, your life depended on it, you knew he was going to be upset, you knew he was going to be sad, you knew he was going to be desperate, but you didn't know that he'd be so angry. You were just scared right now, you were scared for your life, that wasn't the kind and considerate partygoer that you had gotten to know for those months spent together.

"COME BACK, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER, HAHAHA !!"

You heard his booming and angered voice resonate around you, it encouraged you even more to run, and find a way out of this place.

You looked behind you, you knew that you shouldn't, as that would trigger him even more, seeing the fearful look in your wide eyes, but you just needed to see the distance between him and you.

You were horrified to realize that he wasn't that far behind. Instead, he was 3 meters away from you, rapidly approaching, he was almost close enough to grab you by your neck.

Running even faster than before, you try to get the distance to be bigger, but to no avail, the distance didn't move a single inch, it's like he was following you in rhythm.

In your field of vision, a cubic hole is present.

This is your chance.

You take a last quick breath and do one last sprint, you jump without a single thought in your head, apart from the one telling you to just get the most far away from him as truly possible.

You closed your eyes, feeling yourself fall into a pit you had not a singular idea about, and in the last moment, you heard him.

"NO ! PLEASE NO-"

_____________

"OUCH ! Owww..."

You felt the impact of the floor on your back, it's a miracle you haven't died from it.

Groaning in pain, you slowly lifted yourself up just like the first time you have come around here, everything feeling so much more familiar. The place was quieter, no lights were really present, which was somewhat good, considering they used to persistently buzz your brain out with their annoying noise. But, that also meant the place was darker, which was by far scarier now.

You completely stood up and you realized a staircase was present, a wooden one, down the staircase, on the floor you were currently standing on, towards the staircase's right side, was a kitchen, on it's left, was a bathroom.

You decided to first go to the kitchen, as the chase tired you out and drained you from your energy and calories.

You walked to the kitchen in slow, careful steps, Upon entering, you could feel the soothing coldness of the fridge. You opened it and you felt like you were in paradise, so many different types of food were inside of it. There was a lot of sugar, but you decided against it, as the only thing the partygoer was mainly feeding you were cupcakes, and sometimes he rarely gave you other types of food.

It's weird how you somewhat survived so long with just cupcakes... makes it feel like he put something in them.

You decided to just take a nutritional plate of food and a bottle of water, which quite literally had cold fog coming out of it, it was fresher than you, literally.
