"P-pregnant?!" I scream.
"Lacey. I don't even know if it's mine." He tried to sound innocent.
"DON'T EVEN TALK TO ME." I scream and get out of the car. I walk in the daycare, "Hi is Genesis awake?" I try to sound polite even though I wanted to rip Jack's head off.
"Hi mommy!" I turn and see Genesis running towards me.
"Hey baby girl!" I say with a huge smile on my face and pick her up.
"Mommy can I go over Carol's house?!"
"Did Ms. Jill say it was okay?" I say while I see Jill and her daughter Carol walking towards us.
"Yeah, Genesis can come over. Do you and Jack want to stay for dinner?" She says while giving me a hug.
"Jack is busy. But I'd love to go." I slightly lie. We walk outside and I see that Jack left. Asshole.
"Jill. Would you mind giving me a ride since Jack decided to leave?" I ask extremely pissed off.
"Of course."
We get to Jill's house and Genesis and Carol run off and start playing.
"So. Are you and Jack okay?" She asked while pouring juice into a glass.
"Not really." I say rolling my eyes.
"Do I need to beat someone's ass?" She jokes.
"Please do." I laugh. I told her about the whole Tiana situation.
"What a bitch." She said.
"I just don't know what to do." I feel a tear run down my face.
"I say you find her and beat her ass." she slightly yells while handing me a tissue.
"I would but she's pregnant."
"Oh right. Damn it." I heard the door open and Jill's husband walks through the door.
"Hey hon." He says giving her a kiss.
"Jake this is Lacey." He turned and gave me a smile. He looked really familiar. Like really familiar. He had dimples, hazel eyes and the perfect face structure. It was creepy as hell, he looked so familiar.
"Lacey are you okay?" I realize that I zoned out.
"Oh yeah sorry, I zoned out a bit." Jill's husband just chuckled. His chuckle even sounded familiar.
"Jake, Lacey is staying over for dinner."
"Okay I'll get an extra chair from downstairs." Jake heads downstairs.
"Shit. I have to pick up Carol's prescription from CVS. I'll be back Lacey." Jill says while running out the door.
I get up and open her fridge to get a can of soda. I close the door and look at her family photos.
There's a lot.
Her and Jake at Times Square, and in Florida and another one in Hawaii. Then there was one with Jake just by himself. He was smiling. I pick up the photo and look closer.
I felt like such a creep. But there's something about him that I don't like. His presence just made me so uncomfortable.
"Lacey?" I jump and turn around and see Jake carrying a foldable chair. I quickly put the picture down.
"Sorry to scare you." He chuckled.
I gulp, "It's fine."
"Where's Jill?" He asks while placing the chair down.
"She went to CVS to get a prescription for Carol." I say trying to act calm.
"Alright. Well I'm be in my office downstairs. There's food in here if you're hungry." He said pointing to the cabinets.
"Okay thanks." I smile ans sit down. Right when he goes back downstairs I go upstairs. I know I shouldn't be doing this, but this guy just freaks me out. I go into him and Jill's room. I go through the tiny desk and see a bunch of bills. I open the drawer and see a document. It says something about a change of name.
I look and see an old passport that said Jake Wilkinson with a picture of Jake on it. Wait, what the hell?
Then I see a new passport from a few months ago that said Jake Vertez. Why would he change his name?
I keep looking deeper and see a picture of Jake when he was about 15 with another boy who looked a bit younger.
No fucking way.

Jake is Sam's brother.
