harry and neville were at the front of the class training with a dummy.

but his wand just flew back, everyone ducked and it hit the wall.

hermione was getting praised and giggling with the patil twins, hope, and ginny.

harry was helping cho with the levicorpus spell.

he had been guiding cho on how to place her wand.

"a little higher." he said.

when he let go of her hand, she looked at where his hand used to be then to harry, leading to nigel falling.

it happened so fast, hope couldn't catch him with her magic.

she ran up to nigel, giving him her hand.

he had gotten up with hope's help, looking at cho, both hope and nigel giving her a dirty look she didn't notice before nigel shook his head and walked away, smirking at hope knowingly.

"that was great nigel!" hope praised, and nigel smiled brightly.

"working hard is important, but there's something that matters even more. believing in yourself. think of it this way, every great wizard in history started out as nothing more than what we are now, students. if they can do it, why not us."

"duro!" hope yelled, turning it to stone.

"reducto!" ginny cried, making it disintegrate.

everyone looks at the 2 amazed.

"now we're not going to meet again until after the holidays—" harry says before there are sounds of dislike.

"so just keep practicing on your own as best as you can. and—and well done, everyone. great—great work." harry says and there is applause.

"top job, mate."ron praises.

"see you in the common room, harry" hermione says as hope, ron, and hermione start to walk to the door. hope frowned and walks semi-quickly to the door.

"you'd think a bit of snogging would cheer her up." ron says.

"don't you guys understand how she must be feeling? well, obviously she feels sad abou cedric and therefore confused about liking harry, and guilty about kissing him, conflicted because umbridge is threatening to sack her mom at the ministry and frightened of failing her owl's, because she's so busy worrying about everything else." hermione says.

"can you like simplify that? or shorten it?" hope asks.

"if one person can feel all of that, they'd explode." ron says.

"that's because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon." hermione says.

harry, ron and hermione start laughing.

hope all of a sudden felt she didn't belong here, and felt like a side piece, she put on a fake smile, but it didn't reach her eyes like it used to, which neville noticed when he walked in the common room.

he sent her a look saying 'we're talking about this later.'

hope nods and sends neville a reassuring smile.
