If you would have told me the day before college move-in day that I would end up having my first kiss with a random boy at a nightclub near my school, I would have thought you were nuts. If you would have told me that we would end up "dating" a week later, I would have known for sure that you were nuts. Dating to make someone else jealous almost never works.
