She wasn't anywhere near genius, she wasn't into expensive galas and bars, and she certainly wasn't a picture worth hanging on the fridge. She hated her parents, tolerated her brother, and was always a drink away from self-destructing. Meeting Carol Danvers though, gave Raya something worth getting her act together for. Someone worth caring herself about for. Something so raw and powerful and dangerous, it was never bound to last. So she got in the car on December 17th, 1991 and she didn't even have much of a life to fall apart when she got dragged away to HYDRA. And Raya definitely doesn't have any pieces to put back together when she ends up over twenty years later, with a younger brother who's now older, and her old girlfriend somehow alive. But now with glowing fists. God, the future is weird. But maybe, hopefully, it'll be enough for Raya and Carol.…
