She stood there on the balcony, facing out to the horizon that was illuminated by the day's final moments. For a long time her face was unchanging; she was stuck in the same loop of thoughts while the bottom of her dress swirled around her in the wind, which made the waterfalls of silk and tresses seem alive. The sky had long since faded to grey by the time she came in and joined the rest of the party, and her presence there was instantly noticed. The eventful chatter filling the room suddenly ceased as everyone laid their eyes on her. It is her, they all thought in unison. It was a though she could feel the thick silence she created just by existing weighing on her. The King, one royal hand full of rich wine while the other stayed paused over his chest, looked between her and all the guests. He knew they all remembered when she first came to this kingdom. She was called from a land none of them had seen, and yet they all could see it in her. They could see it in her features, she was set on completing the mission given to her by their king, even if she lost everything to do so.…
