Traces of Regrets
Who isn't afraid of having regrets? Who hasn't once or twice been haunted by the thought of what they could've had, who they could've been, where they could've been, what they could've achieved, and whom they could've been with if only they had chosen a different path to take or made different decision? If you were to ask Euridice Jewel Gales about her greatest fear in life, it would be making a huge decision that would lead her to her biggest regret. Because she knows that having regrets means being haunted by the things she could have had, the person she could have become, the places she could have gone, other things she could have achieved, and the people she could have been with. It means her present self will continuously remind her past self of the foolishness of her choices. That she needed to face the painful outcomes of the paths she has taken, the pain because of opportunities she lost, and the people she left behind because she thought she'd chosen the right path and thought regrets afterwards would be less painful. That she'll curse herself for everything she knows she can never bring back or can hardly bring back. She never thought regrets would be as bitter as drinking unsweetened, freshly brewed coffee or as bitter as the life she was learning to live because of the choices she thought she could accept. She believed she could endure watching her whole world gradually break into pieces before her without the guy she's willing to risk everything for beside her. She thought she could always convince herself that she was only holding a stranger's hand, not the hand of someone she had always held dear.
