Two young biologists are lured to the World Wide Research and Development Laboratory stationed somewhere on an island in the Pacific Ocean. Nothing is what was promised them when they arrive. Instead of studying viruses and bacteria, they are the ones being studied. They are not sure they will make it out of there alive.Roman felt as though it was an opportunity to look around the laboratory on this occasion while S.L. was asleep atop the stainless steel work table. The cages were cleaned, and the rats and mice seemed content, even though Roman thought they were better cared for than he and Alex. Apparently, what S.L. was trying to tell him is that certain DNA had been injected into the rats. When and how Roman asked only receiving a confusing and disjointed explanation that defied reason. "Is there documentation of this experiment?" Roman asked, thinking finally he would be getting into the research and development activities. The response was jumbled and nonsensical.…
Dov lives on an island that is divided by inhabitants at sea level and those on the Limestone cliffs. Those on the cliffs are genetically engineered and require an elevated environment to survive. Those at sea level, like Dov and his mother and father, have access to the mainland, where they are educated, and trade for supplies to furnish both areas. Dov's father is an Elder, or ruler of the inhabitants at sea level, while the people of the cliffs have an Elder as well. Princess Miriam is the daughter of the Elder on the cliffs; she is so named because of her supernatural powers.Dov, a strong, powerful youth, light hair, and light complexion, pleads with the Elders of the mainland to assist in the evacuation of his people when an underground volcano causes a tsunami to strike at sea level, cutting the shoreline in half. He is forbidden to assist in the evacuation of those on the cliffs. A second tsunami hits, sweeping away the remaining inhabitants, including Dov's parents, leaving a sliver of beach along the foot of the cliffs. Dov is devastated when he returns from his rescue mission to find his island is dying, and his parents swept away too.The cliffs are in danger of collapsing, and something or someone is compelling him to save Princess Miriam. With a power he did not realize he possessed, he scales the Limestone cliff, rescuing Princess Miriam.Finding refuge in a small town in the northeastern part of the United States, he and Miriam marry and raise their family, but as Dov gains more power, Miriam's power is diminishing.…
