It took Hydra twenty years to subdue Sergeant James Buchanan Barns and create The Winter Soldier. What was the last straw for Bucky? What was it that finally broke him into submission? This is a snap shot of Bucky at his breaking point, the moment that he gave up, gave in, thinking that there was no hope left for him in his world of Russian wastelands, and handlers turning him into the weapon to control as they will to shape the century to their benefit. This scene was inspired by Aaron Gibsons cover of Hurt. I encourage you to listen to it with this in mind. I think it is a beautiful rendition of the song, and it embodies the turmoil that Bucky lives with.…
