"Kaito said we'd always be friends!"
"Mm!"
"Right!"
The three friends sent smiles to one another. At each the boys' sides were one girl. One was named Alluka Zoldyck whom stood by her big brother's side, Killua Zoldyck. On the opposite side stood (Name) (Last Name), who stood at the side of Gon Freecss. They weren't standing for a reunion, however, as this would officially be their departure from one another, until due time.
(Eye Color) eyes looked with an cerulean blue, giving a nod towards the albino. Killua, in turn, placed a hand on his azure eyed sibling, who was waving shyly. It was no doubt emotional, and she could tell they were trying to compose one another; Killua and Gon that is.
With a swift motion, she engulfed the Zoldyck male in a deep hug, shocking him into a stupor. His cheeks flared red, yet he made no attempt to end it. Lightly, he returned it. Though she wondered why Gon and Killua didn't hug, she didn't question it. Once departing, she spoke lowly to him, smiling a small smile.
"I'll miss you and your stupid smirks."
(Name) then turned to Alluka, who seemed shocked to be approached. Without hesitance, the dark-haired Zoldyck was pulled into a hug too.
"Alluka.. Thanks! I owe you one. Ask your brother if we could play some time, will ya?"
This pleased the little wish granter, as a eager nod taken place. Stepping back, Gon locked hands with the girl, before giving a nod to Killua. Like a silent agreement, they both turned then, facing away from one another. She was going to miss this. Their antics with one another, the adventures, the argues. She was gonna miss them all.
Being too caught up in her own thing, (Name) missed the sad smile both Gon and Killua held.
✿
"Gon."
She repeated his name for the past few seconds, yet he didn't let her hand go. He just held tighter, while looking ahead.
"Gon... I know you heard me.. This is my last stop."
They just reached the tree. He seemed to freeze then, hesitantly turning his head towards her. He was met by an apologetic, regretful look, whereas she was met with a confused one.
"Last stop? But... why?"
"Killua made a good point. You and Ging hadn't have an actual talk by yourselves. I don't want to intrude."
If he had ears of a dog, they'd be slouching right now. With her other hands, she held it atop his, applying light pressure for a squeeze. He thought they'd go back together. Since they still had a lot ahead of them, and there was so much he wanted to do with her. They'd have their own adventure!
"Gon.."
The soft tone reached the Enhancer's ears, and he squeezed back. His stare held much intensity, it was a wonder how she never fell victim to his eyes.
"Where would you go?"
The answer came after a bit of thought, though not at all reluctant. A smile made it's way to her face.
"Wherever my heart takes me, duh."
Though his spirits was down, he didn't let it show. A nod was given, as if accepting his fate. Planting a peck along his cheek, the girl released her grip, taking a few steps back. Letting go a breath, she pivoted, on her way to leave when the Hunter spoken again.
"Will I see you again?"
He hadn't expected the answer he gotten, yet he should've known better. Nonetheless, it made him smile. Placing a finger to her lips, she gave a smirk, quirking a brow.
"That would be spoiling, wouldn't it? You know I don't agree to things, even if you are an exception."
And he watched her back as she walked away, leaving his thoughts to drift to whether he'd see her again. But he didn't dwell on it too long, as he noticed the sun setting. Turning around, a determined look fell onto the tree.
He had to see Ging.
✿
The boat ride back to Whale Island seemed to be shorter than he remembered, though that might've been because his thoughts were preoccupied with that (Last Name) girl. He couldn't shake it away, and it made him fill...unaccomplished.
His goal was to find and question his father, which he did do. Yet something felt off..
The shaking thud signaled the boat met it's destination, and the green-clad teen hopped to his feet. Strolling through the others who too resided on the boat, waves and smiles were given around, right up until he hopped off. He didn't expect to be met with cheers and welcomes from the people on the island. They asked him questions about his journey, and he'd answer politely. Though he did decline some, as he expressed he needed to see his Aunt Mito. And so he began running.
Aunt Mito was like a mother to him. Gon wouldn't change her for anything. So, he was in a bit of a stupor for why he saw both his aunt and grandma standing outside his house waving. His running slowed to a jog, confusion written in his features. How'd they know he gotten back? Which did bring the question, how did everyone else know? It couldn't have been the fact they saw the boat, as the same boat came and went throughout the week.
His surprise couldn't get higher than it was now, but what happened next just shocked him. Walking out his home was the exact person he wanted to see.
"Hey! You missed me?"
He felt his heart skip. He felt the world around him freeze. He was sure his mouth was hanging open, but there she stood. In the spotlight, right before his eyes. She stood there, and she was waiting. Waiting for him. Without warning had his legs picked up momentum, going from a jog back to a run.
(Name) blinked before raising her hand in mock surrender, sweat-dropping.
"Woah! Gon, slow do-"
But he didn't. In fact, he was preeetty sure he couldn't.
OOF!
The two collided right then and there, with Mito and Abe off to the side. Though Mito was shocked and worried, Abe was chuckling. Gon recovered, shaking his hurt head so he would stop seeing stars, whereas (Name) laid beneath him. Only when she gave a light groan did he focus on her once more, lips moving at a mile per second.
"(Name)!! What are you doing here?!"
"Didn't you hear me before? I'm going where my heart takes me, and it wanted to be here."
Sliding off her, he rested on his knees whilst she did the same. But, he didn't respond, he just kept staring at her. To make sure this image was real. The hinted blush at her cheeks made the boy's heart skip another beat. And that was when he decided to make a moment.
Though it was eager, and he practically rushed into it, it didn't at all hurt when he slammed his lips onto hers. Though it shocked her, she didn't hesitate in kissing him back. The boy's rough hands grasped onto her shoulders, pulling her in, and undoubtedly taking her breath away. After what felt like forever they pulled away, and it took every willpower Gon had not to steal her lips once more.
"I've been waiting so long to do that!"
A big victorious grin played on his lips, whereas the girl held onto her beating heart. Her face was completely red, whereas the boy's was tinted a light pink. He didn't care.
"Now, now."
Abe Freecss spoken then, gaining the attention of the young lovers.
"Save it for the honeymoon."
"Grandma!"
Mito screeched, placing her hands on her hips. Gon just gave a smile before pulling (Name) into a hug, releasing a breath he had been holding. He felt complete. He finally felt accomplished. (Name) whispered along into his ear, paying no mind to the bickering ladies before them.
"I love you, Gon."
He did accomplish his goal, but along the way, he too accomplished love.
"Yeah..."
Something he would hold onto forever, as long as his heart kept beating.
"I love you too, (Name)-chan."
