These kids. . .Are truly fucking terrifying!
“You guys built a ship?! A cellphone!? A GPS!? No-Wait, maybe I should ask how the fuck you all freed me–Medusa!? Or maybe it’s better to ask why–what–uh!?” yea. . .your brain was already being fried with everything you had to process. Where should you start? From the fact that thousands of years passed. . .that every human turned into stone. . .or that the weird kid you used to babysit is slowly bringing back modern technology to a primitive world?!
“Calm that small brain of your, lieutenant. You are ten billion percent gonna short circuit if you keep asking yourself all those questions. I’m gonna explain everything as time comes” Senku muttered in his usual blank tone, too busy tinkering with some rocks to pay attention to your absolutely melted body on the ship’s floor. That kid told you those same exact words when you have been unceremoniously thrown on the ship deck just as you woke up from your stoney sleep and yet. . .nothing has been answered yet!
“Who. . .who are you anyway?” a feminine voice broke you out of your daze, bringing you back to reality as you snapped your head to the side and immediately thousands of questions kicked the previous ones you had. “You are the first adult that Senku wanted to revive but the only thing he said was that you knew America” a young blond girl peered at your lying body with curios blue eyes, her blond hair were tied up in a ponytail as her dark blue dress covered enough to reach her thighs. Despite her soft look, she carried around a strong and confident aura, you wouldn’t be surprised if she was a warrior or soldier.
“America. . .of course he would say that” you deadpanned, sitting up slowly and finally deciding to focus on one thing at the time. Senku grabbed you and threw on a ship to sail to America? Maybe you should get to know who else are the lucky survivors and most likely the mad scientist’s teammates (if he caught you calling them his friends you are sure you would find a firework under your pillow next time you will go to sleep)
By the blond girl's side stood a boy with long wavy hair, tied in six ponytails, which fell on the soft fur around his shoulders. His posture was tall and almost intimidating, red eyes looking down at you warily "We found you in a weird pose. . .like you were previously holding a gun or a rifle prior your petrification" he pointed out, lifting a finger in your direction. From his tone alone you could almost feel the distrust about you. And who could blame Tsukasa? He had bad experience with the adult from his old world after all.
"Oh everybody! This is _____!" Taiju familiar booming voice made you subconsciously relax your shoulders slightly as you felt his hand slap your back with an absurd amount of strength. That boy was truly something else. You have always said that. He could push a tank with bare hands, you are sure of it. "Hey Taiju, kiddo" you turned around with a smirk on your lips and your hand couldn’t help but immediately go and ruffle his hair "You are here too? Pff–of course you are. Senku wouldn't dream of leaving his dear best friend behind"
At your words the brunette's smile widened excitingly while you could feel a certain scientist's annoyed gaze burning holes in your skull. "Wait! Wait, wait, wait, wait! You know them too, Taiju?" You almost jumped when a high pitch voice reached your ears and a. . .melon? head popped between you and the brunette. Why the fuck is there a smaller child in this goddamn ship, sailing toward America!? Did Senku really resorted to child exploitation?
It was now him who felt two eyes burning holes in his skull.
"Why yea! They were Senku's babysitter! They used to hang out and play with us when we were children!" Not even a second that those words left his lips that everyone immediately snapped their heads in the scientist's direction, almost with a loud crack "Oh? You needed a babysitter when you were little, dear Senku? Were you a misbehaving child?" a chuckle accompanied the smooth voice, slightly muffled by a large sleeve. Another boy around Senku and Taiju's age, his half-colored hair were the first thing you noticed, immediately followed a slay as a fox expression.
Finally lifting his head from his work Senku placed a pinky in his ear, looking disinterested as always "More than a babysitter they were just a tag along to make my father less worried about me. Ten billion percent I didn't need a babysitter" his lazy explanation made you roll your eyes. He definitely needed someone to watch him over in his younger years. . .especially to make sure he wouldn't explode something with his wild experiments.
He might say that he kept you near him only to have someone translate him the English books to Japanese but you could see how happy it made him being able to show his experiments to someone. He was still a kid, no matter how terrifying his knowledge was for such young age.
However you had more pressing manners. Not counting Senku, Taiju, Yuzuriha and the little girl, every other kid was kind of still wary or distrust you. If you are gonna travel with them you can't keep getting weird stares! Now. . .how do you make a good first impression with teenagers?
". . .who wants to hear Senku's embarrassing childhood stories?"
"!"
And just like that, you immediately got everyone hooked and the tense atmosphere dissipated with the snap of a finger. "Don't even think about it, lieutenant. It's a pain in the ass to make fireworks" it was like you all knew each others for years just to have the chance to hear the level head scientist loose his cool. Senku shook his head "Tch, you all are ridiculous. Maybe I shouldn't have freed you and used the revival fluid on a bird" he let out a sigh, watching how you dramatically whispered something to the huddle group of teenagers, eager to gossip.
It was nice seeing you getting along with everyone. He was worried the other would had a harder time getting used to you. It would have been a pain in the ass to deal with tension between the two parties, of course!
"Oh but Senku, why did you revive your babysitter out of everyone? Just because they are American?" The blond girl asked, placing her finger on her chin "Ah! You choose them so they can act as a translator with the other Americans!?" A boy with brown hair and a rope around his head exclaimed with a big smile. Senku smirked, making finger guns "Half point for you Chrome. That's one of my motivations. None of us know English as well as someone who lived there after all. However that's not only why I choose them out of everyone"
Senku snapped his fingers before pointing at your figure, busy doing an arm fight with Taiju "They are lieutenant ____, one the best American soldiers!"
". . ."
"Dear Senku, are you implying you were so bad as a child that a literal soldier had to babysit you?"
"I thought that by now you understood that nothing about me is normal."

These kids are truly. . .fucking insane!
All of them are reckless as hell! Multiple times you had to drag Kohaku back to the ship deck before she would accidentally slip on the rail and fall down in the ocean! Then there was Chrome with also his fascination with science and rocks. You had so many war flashbacks when you saw him tinkering with some of them.
The giant hole Senku was able to make with just hitting two rocks against eachothers still hunt you to this day. You had been barely able to drag him away and cover his tiny body with your own from being blown to pieces. The crazy thing? He was actually more amused from the results of his experiment rather than almost dying. You knew that scientists are batshit insane but this was a fucking 12 years old kid!
Then there was that rich kid, Ryu, who is apparently the captain of this ship. He was. . .surely an excited one. You just thanked whatever god was up there that you weren't sea-sick. In the end, however, you genuinely had to kidnap Senku and drag him away from his work just to finally being able to make sense of everything. The only normal one was that French cook, Francois, bless their heart and amazing food.
"While I learned to stop questioning your reasonings, dear Senku, I can’t help but still be confused on why them being an American soldier is such a deal breaker" Gen hid his hands inside his big sleeves, eyeing you with an almost nervous look. He won't lie. The knowledge of having a soldier on the ship is kinda intimidating. Not that Gen would fear your presence, if both Taiju and Senku are comfortable with your presence then he has nothing to worry. Plus a magic trick and he is sure he will get his way anyway "We already have our lovely fighters who are strong enough. Are you sure you simply didn't miss your babysitter?"
At his words both you and Senku turned your heads toward the mentalist, deadpanning at the same time. It was kinda freaky, he won't lie "Are you implying that I'm not strong enough, kid?" You lifted an eyebrow, eyeing his placid smile nervously twitch, while the red-eyed teen by your side let out a chuckle and crossed his arms.
"That might be true, we have a lioness, a brute force and even a criminal on our side. All great assists when it needed for an offense, but that's it. They only know how to attack anything in their way but not how to defend. Lieutenant here went through a heavy military training, they know best how to keep us safe" he replied with a smug smile.
Your deadpanned expression shifted on his direction, frown deepening "So at the end I AM still on babysitting duty" you exasperated slumping on the chair.
"Call it whatever you want"
"Is that why you had us build all that junk there?" Chrome asked, pointing to a huge suspicious box sitting next to the captain's room. It was nothing much, just a simple wooden box with a sheet over it. "What the hell is that?" You shot Senku a suspicious look. Over the years, you had learned to distrust anything he created for you as there was always an ulterior motive.
"Why don't you go check it out? Consider it a welcome gift from everyone" his words didn't help ease your suspicions however you had no choice but to do as he wanted. After all, what do you expect kids to be able to create? Suika followed you, holding a crowbar and handing it to you. “Oh here! You might need it to open the bo–"
*Crack!*
She didn't have time to finish speaking that you had already opened the box with your bare hands alone, scaring the little girl to death "W-What a strength!" Her and other kids awed at the sight. You might be even stronger than Tsukasa himself! The strongest teenager! In the background Senku let out a string of chuckles at their surprise. If they knew your exact location and Taiju hadn't found Tsukasa first they would have used the revival liquid on you to protect them from the lions all those years ago.
You looked inside the wooden box, your eyes widening at the objects displayed "But these are–" you grabbed an object, bringing it to your eye level "An ACH!" Your mouth was agape at the sight of the helmet. Sure, it was more a primitive form of the Advanced Combat Helmet you used to have in the army but it was still it!
"Ah! Is that a MICH!?" You cheered with joy taking out another helmet and putting it over your head and feeling a communication headset attached to it "You guys even built a motherfucking communication headset!? Does it work!?" Out of every helmet you had this one was one of your favorite. It was light and a bit smaller than the other but you could attach communication headsets and night vision devices without them straining your neck. And while sure, this primitive version didn't reach the same result as the modern ones it still was a close call.
"[Of course it works, lieutenant. Who did you take me for? You know I never leave my work halfway done]" a distorted version of Senku's voice came out from the headset making your smile widening more. "Ehe, I still haven't learn my lesson despite the years" you chuckled, going back to see what else these crazy kids built just for you. "Oh! This must be a Modular scalable vest, and this is a primitive gun–is that suppose to be a rifle!? It looks just like mine! And look over there! Those are heavy shields!"
On the sidelines the rest of the science kingdom could feeling an impeding doom at your overly excited face while you were holding a murder weapon like it was your child "Senku. . .a-are sure we can trust them?" Ginro asked, hiding behind Hyoga with a terrified face, while tears threatened to fall from his eyes. He absolutely didn't want another gun fanatic like Yo Uei!
"Ehe, you guys are most likely more safe sticking close with them rather than a tank" the young scientist smirked, placing his hands over his hips. You twirled around with an helmet between your hands "Oh Senku! You did all of this for me!? So you care! Aren't you such a sweet kid!?" You stopped, dramatically sniffing and wiping your tears as everyone deadpanned at your over the top display. Then a smirk made its way on your lips "How long will it take us to reach America, captain?"
Ryusui let out a loud laugh, uncrossing his arms "I like your entusiasm lieutenant! From our calculations it should be around 30 days without any drawbacks or sudden impediments" you nodded at his words, taking your new rifle and turning it around your hands to feel its shape "That's good to know." You hummed, before pointing it toward the group of teens "I want everyone who knows how to fight to follow me on the deck! Senku appointed me as your defense and offense trainer, and I have only 30 days to make sure you have eyes even behind your heads"
Moz tched, crossing his arms and lifting an eyebrow "Do you expect us to lern how to use a gun or something?" To which you immediately retreated your rifle, hugging it close to your body "As if, these are my babies. I would never let someone inexperienced risk to damage them"
"You bastard! We built them for you!"
Ignoring his words you spun on your heels and walked toward the deck with a joyous expression "Come on kids! I wanna see you kick asses from now on!" You truly were an odd adult to them.
"Tch, if they think they are stronger than me I will wipe off that smirk from their face so fast" Moz grumbled, marching after you, followed by Kirisame. The blond warrior hesitated to walk away, letting her eyes fall toward Senku, Taiju and Yuzuriha "Aren't you guys worried? They might an adult but they are quite confident on their capabilities" Tsukasa nodded "Too much confident"
Taiju waved a hand with a big smile "You don't have to worry! _____ is strong! They are lieutenant–or well, almost one!" Senku nodded, confirming his words "Plus is not just brute force that helps you win a fight, but also a tactic to use against your enemy" just as he said those words from the upper floors, on the deck, came a loud thump, followed by your voice 'You should never underestimate your enemy' which made everyone sweatdrop "See?"
Ukyo let out a nervous laugh, awkwardly nodding his head "Yea. . .they are certainly scary. . ."
Just as the battle team made their way toward the deck, feeling like the were walking to their doom, the rest of the science kingdom slowly started going back to their works. "Senku, before any of us go back to work, I have a question about your babysitter." Gen called the young scientist, moving his gaze from the entrance door to his red eyes "This will be their new nickname, uh?" He smirked, to which the mentalist simply let out a chuckle "Perhaps" Silence quickly fell between the two, signaling Gen to continue.
"Why do you think we will need the strength of a soldier? What do you think we will have to deal with in America that will require their experience with firearms?"
"You never know, Gen. I've heard that bears can be really vicious around there."
♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧
And so began your 30 days of training a bunch of kids while reaching America on a ship safe and sound. During this month you had the opportunity to get to know all the citizens of the science kingdom better and while you shared your military knowledge with their battle team, they told you everything they had been through in the last years. Their inventions, struggles and discoveries. The 'why'-man and medusa and how they were now trying to reach America to find corn, the last ingredient needed to revive all 7.8 billion of people.
Wild plan for a bunch of kids but knowing Senku, not impossible.
You also learned about Byakuya and the end of the international space station crew. You won't lie, you spent a good fifteen minutes in pure silence watching the sun set into the ocean when Senku had told you. Neither of you had dared to say a vowel. Byakuya was the first person you befriended when you reached Japan, and how could you not? His personality alone was enough to soften the heart of any soldier.
He will never know this but he played an important role in your life. At the just the age of 21 in a foreign country he was the one who helped and guided you through everything. You remember how he would excitingly talk your ear off about his job and the space. It kinda gave you war flashback about someone but it also made you feel more at home. It was also thanks to him that you had the honor of knowing his son, Senku, and his madness with science.
It's amazing how 30 days can pass in the blink of an eye "Land! I see land in the distance!" leaning against the mainmast you watched as all the kids ran towards the bow of the ship, all excited at the sight of the continent. Who knows if Christopher Columbus and his crew had reacted the same way. The familiar shores of San Francisco began to come into view as a flood of memories almost overwhelmed you. God, for the longest time you wanted to come back home.
Thanks to forces higher than you, you ended up in Japan for an indeterminate period of time. In those six years you missed America, there you left a lot of things, a lot of people. You wonder how Anna managed without you by her side. She was a strong kid, barely sixteen when you had to leave her, and now her statue was somewhere in San Francisco, waiting for you to find her again.
She would get along with the kids of the science kingdom, you were sure of it.
"Here you are again" you would never have thought that your return to your homeland would happen in this way and with these conditions 3700 years later "America. Home sweet home" you just hope everything goes smooth.
But oh well.
You have always been a tough unlucky cookie.

A/N: With amount of research about USA military equipment, training, bases, etc I'm not gonna be surprised if the F.B.I will try to arrest me for suspicious activity or they will think that I'm trying to join the USA army, lmao. Once again, I'm sorry for any inaccuracy/ooc, and thanks for reading.
