Quinn stared at the book before her. The sky blue cover was intricately drawn on, creating gold patterns. The title, "Apricity," was painted with the same shining colors.

She had bought it when everyone at the orphanage went shopping, but it wasn't the cover that caught her eye. The main aspect that made her want it at the time wasn't a simple reason.

It was the author.

That name...she didn't quite know why it felt so familiar. Almost like a distant memory. The name was right there, in her brain, but she couldn't quite grasp for a reason why.

She had asked around, trying to figure out who it was. A famous person, perhaps?

"Maybe you recognized them from another book you've read," Linda inquired.

No one could tell who it was, even Near's curiosity being piqued by her find.

"I've never seen a book like this," he studied the cover.

Feeling lost, she decided to finally sit down and rest, leading to her current predicament. Then, the identity seemed to come to her.

Allison Blythe was her mother's name.

It had been so long since she had heard that last name, she had almost forgotten it was her own.

When Quinn was just a toddler, her mother had died of an illness. She remembered her mother being an author, and teaching her about writing as well.

Then, she was brought by Watari to Wammy's House for her exceptional ability in language arts.

"Well? Did you find out who it is?"

Quinn accidentally dropped the book she was holding, looking up to meet her eyes with that of Mello's.

She blinked nervously. Should she tell him?

He stood there stoically, waiting for a proper answer.

"This book was written by my mother," she said, picking it up from the cold floor. "I know we're not supposed to share anything about our real names, but it was written by her."

"Really?" Mello said in surprise. "I didn't know your mom was an author."

Quinn grinned, "I didn't remember until I got this book. It's been a while since I thought about my family. Thank you for helping me. Mello."

"I didn't do anything!" He turned his head away from her, hiding his flustered face.

"You helped me reach it on that bookshelf. That's enough in my book. Pun intended," She responded.

Mello deadpanned, "Of course you made a stupid joke."

"Shush!"
