"Carp are totally cool! Shiro and Tamaki just weren't able to tell you that part since they don't know too much,"
You tried to comfort the girl who was still dejected from what she'd heard in her last host visit.

"Really?"

"Yeah! I think you should embrace it. I'm sure you can get some very nice koi themed outfits or accessories?"

The girl began to smile thinking of the possibilities,
"You're right!"

She grabbed onto your hands,
"Thank you so much! I'll have my parents commission a dress for me right away!"

She ran off to find somewhere quiet to fully formulate her idea, and you let out a sigh of relief as she did so. After the damage Tamaki and Shiro did to her self esteem, the chances of cheering her up didn't seem too bright. But of course, you prevailed!

"Well played, (y/n).  If you wouldn't mind, could you follow me?"
Kyoya asked.

You didn't see why not, so you followed him out the school and into his limo. You were just a little bit worried he might be stealing you away to sell your organs to all the other rich folk, but that limo just looked so cool!

"And that's how I got here before you, Haruhi,"

You explained as you took a long sip from your cold drink.

"Well it certainly seems like you're enjoying this,"
She commented, sitting down on the chair beside you.

You stretched your arms out, taking in the artificial sun,
"I've been meaning to do some relaxing,"

"(Y/n)-chan! I brought you another juice!"
Honey ran up, holding a glass cup whose contents were largely spilled during the short boy's trek over to you.

You grabbed the cup from his hand, handing him your empty one.
"Thanks, senpai!"

Honey went over the Haruhi and got her drink order before running off. You could notice her staring at Mori, and nodded,
"He's been standing like that for ten minutes now,"

The twins soon got their hands on Haruhi, and there was this whole song and dance about how Tamaki made her wear a parka instead of a swimsuit, all of which you mostly tuned out.

Honestly you were glad Haruhi wasn't wearing that swimming cap, but you'd keep that to yourself.

A few more things happened while you took your fake nap in the sun, including a revelation about Honey trying to secure his spot as the cute little boy type, and a water gun war between the king and the twins.

Before you knew it, Honey was swept away by a large wave, meaning your little artificial vacation was over as you joined the search party for the small boy.

Mori seemed especially concerned, which made sense considering he was always responsible for Honey. You put a hand on his shoulder to reassure him.

"I'm not gonna tell you not to worry, we'll probably find him soon,"

He nodded, feeling just slightly better.

"I'm gonna go search over that way for a little bit, if you hear me screaming, I've probably been got by an alligator,"

And with that, you walked away from the rest of the group, letting out a sigh of relief as you got out of earshot. You just needed a little breather from their antics, that was all. Just a minute or two, then you'd rejoin them.

But as you tried getting back with the group, you'd realized you'd somehow gotten lost, and even when calling for them, you got no response.

'Those bastards...'

Did they really leave you behind like that?! What the hell! I mean you were trying to get away from them, but you weren't trying to navigate a fake forest with a very real alligator infestation.

So you ended up walking around aimlessly, being careful not to encroach on any angry alligators while also keeping an eye out for any familiar faces. It was pretty nice being able to walk amongst the trees, but still, being lost left a sour taste in your mouth.

And was it starting to rain too?! Why the hell would a tropical resort need rain?!

Thankfully you found a nice canopy to hide under until the rain passed, losing track of time as you daydreamed of being at home in your comfortable bed, eating snacks.

The rain stopped, and you began your trek once more.

The sound rustling leaves behind you caught your attention, and rather than running away or scoping out the situation, you immediately shot a punch behind you, planning on retreating right after.

Unfortunately you punched another host square in the stomach, who was now collapsed on the ground writhing with pain.

"Kaoru?! What the hell were you thinking sneaking up on me?!"
You knelt down to rest his head on your legs while you looked to see if you'd bruised him.

"I forgot how eager to murder you were..."
He managed to say in between breaths.

"How bad does it hurt? Oh I'm so sorry man, if I knew it was you, I wouldn't have hit so hard!"

So you were gonna hit him no matter what?!

It was nice though how you figured out it was him without him even needing to say anything, though he knew that maybe you used your little pain-reaction trick again.

You helped him stand up, having him wrap his arm around your shoulder while you wrapped yours under his.

"The others are over that way,"
He pointed off into the distance.

"That's good to know. What're you even doing here with Hikaru?"

He shrugged, not wanting to tell you how he lost rock paper scissors.

Kaoru stole a few glances at you while you walked towards the other hosts, seeing how your eyebrows furrowed with guilt and concern. Maybe you felt too much guilt for your own good, but it was pretty amusing to see.

Flashing a mischievous grin, Kaoru groaned loudly,

He squirmed out of your grasp and sat on the ground, clutching his stomach.

Once again you knelt down next to him, examining the situation while spilling out apologies.

"Hold still for a second,"
You commanded.

Kaoru waited patiently as he waited for your next move. Were you going to pretend to kiss his pain away? No, that was something Hikaru would do when there were bystanders around.

"1... 2... 3!"
You scooped up the twin into your arms bridal style, struggling just slightly to not fall over.

"That better, princess?"
You teased.

'God damn that felt gross'
You cringed internally.

Instead of cringing or laughing, Kaoru found himself with a pink face. Since when were you this good?! You didn't even like hosting that much!

"Kaoru? Hello? Earth to Kaoru!"

He shook himself from his thoughts,
"Huh? What?"

You raised a brow,
"Nothing, you were just spacing out there for a sec,"

It was your turn for a mischievous smile,
"You're pretty different without Hikaru around, I kinda like it,"

He scoffed, crossing his arms with a pout. There was no way he'd let you fluster him again.

You reconvened with the rest of the group, and Hikaru couldn't help but tease his twin for needing to be carried around like a damsel in distress.

"I didn't need to be carried! It just happened!"
He defended.

"Oh yeah? Then why didn't you get down?"
Hikaru retorted.

Kaoru couldn't quite come up with a response, so he looked over to you while pointing to his twin.

"(Y/n)! Pick him up, now!"

Getting another opportunity to humble a host, you obliged, appearing right behind Hikaru before lifting him up from the ground.

He squirmed around,
"Let me down!"

'Kind of like a cat...'
You thought to yourself as he attempted to claw his way out of your grasp.

You had experience needed to hold onto kids unruly cats to make sure they'd be able to get their shots, so this wasn't all that different for you.

Once his face was sufficiently red, you let him down, letting him go off to chase his twin.

After a while, Honey was located by Haruhi and Mori, the two of them witnessing him take down a whole horde of armed men within a matter of seconds.

Apparently he was some martial arts prodigy or whatever, in any case, he was found and you'd all be able to get home.

"(Y/n)-chan! Did you miss me too?"
Honey asked with big puppy eyes.

"I missed you a lot, senpai! I was so worried about you,"
You played it up a little for the smaller boy, knowing that you hadn't been the most receptive to him recently.

He cheered in celebration, jumping onto Mori and insisting you walked with them.

While walking back in the artificial evening sky, plans were made to head to the beach, with you and Haruhi being on board with the plan.

If you were lucky, a shark might eat Tamaki.
