"What's going on Cas? You didn't say a word the whole car ride." Dean said softly as they were walking into Olive Garden.

It wouldn't have been Dean's first choice, but Cas said pasta and damnit he was getting pasta.

Castiel stood beside him, almost completely mute besides the few sniffles he got. It worried Dean to see him so quiet. It reminded him a lot of himself when his mother died. The only thing that broke him out of it was knowing that Sam would be alone if he didn't get himself together, and he had to be there for his brother when his father never was.

"Can we just get through dinner please?" Cas whispered as they walked in.

"Um yeah, sure, of course. Sorry."

Dean squinted his eyes a little, wondering what he had done to make him like this.

What if he was mad?

What did he do?

Dean wracked his brain, hoping that he hadn't done anything to piss him off.

Maybe he just needs to be left alone.

Maybe Gabriel was the one who pissed him off.

Yeah. Yeah probably.

When do Castiel and Gabriel ever get along?
