OH FUCK I FORGOT TO UPDATE YESTERDAY IM SO SORRY-
y'all gotta remind me or sum i keep forgetting 😭

The first stop on the Addams family trip was the beach. Not in the way Enid thought it would be. She had freaked out, fretting that she didn't have a swimsuit until Wednesday had assured her there would be no tanning involved. A small part of Enid was disappointed that she wouldn't see Wednesday in a swimsuit, then again, the goth girl didn't seem the type to wear one.

Indeed the beach they drove up to, was warded off with a closed gate. That didn't stop the family who simply had Lurch rip through the chains in front and then drive them to a parking lot full of overgrown weeds growing through the cracks. The beach was gloomy, with a cold wind and ashy sand.

Yea, there was no way Enid could imagine tanning or making sandcastles here.

She followed the family with curiosity as they walked in a single file line to the edge of the beach by the water where several huge rocks stood. The waves pounded against the rocks, sending up a cold salty spray.

"What are we doing?" Enid asked as Lurch set down a chest. When he opened it up, he began handing out wet suits. Gomez and Morticia began to slip theirs on with practiced ease. Pugsley did too and Wednesday passed down a pink one for Enid.

"Are we going swimming?" Enid asked, confused as she began to struggle putting the suit on.

"You could say that," Wednesday said, with a bit of excitement in her voice. "We haven't done this in a while. I hope it still works."

"That what works?" Enid fretted and Wednesday gave her hand a small squeeze instead of an answer.

There was a splash as Lurch dove off one of the rock formations.

"You'll see," Wednesday said, Enid nearly bursting with anticipation. In the wet suit she felt warmer even with the cutting wind. There was a gurgling in the water and the Addams began to climb up the mossy rocks. Gomez held out his hand to help Morticia up after him, while Wednesday held out her hand to Enid. Pugsley and Thing made up the rear. Enid had to be careful. The water looked deep, the shore bed dropping away steeply.

They got to the top of the rocks and Enid watched in surprise as something surfaced out of the water slowly. It's great metal hulk came up, the top part swinging open to reveal Lurch was inside.

"You have a submarine?" she gaped.

Of all the things she could expect the Addams family to have, she never thought they'd have a submarine.

The inside was packed and tight, Enid needing a second to get used to the crammed sensation and the smell of heavy metal in the air. She followed behind Wednesday her eyes adjusting to the dark. They took a seat by some round windows on a pair of upholstered chairs. Gomez, Morticia and Pugsley went into a separate area of the submarine, probably to the control room to steer the submarine.

Within minutes it was submerging and Enid watched fascinated as the bubbles whirled outside the window and the sea got darker and darker as they got deeper and deeper. "Where are we going?" Enid asked, feeling the pressure in the cabin change.

"Just on a quick look around. We're going to see if we can spot some interesting animals," Wednesday said.

"And what are the wet suits for?"

"We'll be taking a swim," Wednesday said.

Enid couldn't stop the shock from bleeding into her face. "We're swimming?"

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," Wednesday said. "The suits are padded for warmth and pressured to withstand up to 18 atmosphere's worth of depth, the air tanks have air for hours, and I'll guide you through the entire process."

Enid had no reason to doubt Wednesday's words. After all, the girl had a way of succeeding at things without much effort. It was part of her Addams charm.

Wednesday placed a hand on Enid's to calm her down. A flash of silver went past the window and Wednesday began reeling off different species names that lived down in these cold depths, pointing to them outside the window if they happened to pass one. She knew a lot of facts and Enid allowed herself to be lulled into relaxation with her voice, looking out the window and trying to see the sea creatures Wednesday spoke off.

Eventually when they got deep enough, the submarine shuddered to a halt. That was their cue. Wednesday led Enid to a room where they had air tanks and masks and flippers. Wednesday deftly helped Enid put them on properly and explained their uses.

"I'll keep an eye on you. Nothing will happen," Wednesday promised. Enid nodded her head.

"I trust you," she said. And she did. Especially when it came to more dangerous tasks.

The rest of the Addams family was already waiting for them. There was a hatch opened up in the floor where black water greeted them. Gomez put the mask over his mouth and jumped in, without making a splash. Pugsley went with Lurch, and then Morticia followed, throwing a reassuring smile Enid's way. Only Thing stayed behind, waving them on.

Someone would need to keep the submarine operating in the meantime.

"Ready?" Wednesday asked and Enid nodded her head, putting the mask over her face and sliding in. The shock of the water hit her first. It was cold, but the wet suit did it's job in keeping her dry and relatively warm.

She flicked on her head lights, treading water with her flippers to stay afloat. She looked around, wide eyed. All around her different types of fish swam around, skittering around her and her light. Wednesday floated gently down next to her and Enid turned wide eyes to her.

Being this far down, was like nothing Enid had ever experienced before, and with Wednesday by her side, she felt no fear. "It's so quiet," Enid breathed out, her voice crackling over the comms. "The ocean is so vast and expansive....so mysterious..."

To their left Pugsley was chasing a school of fish, while Lurch floated dutifully after him. Gomez and Morticia were swimming hand in hand, observing the beautiful scales of a shark.

"It is impressive," Wednesday agreed. "I find it's daunting size peaceful. I first came here when I was six months old." Imagining a baby Wednesday swimming around in diapers was too funny and Enid could not hold back the amused giggle.

"What's so funny?"

"The idea of a baby scuba diving is absurd," Enid said.

Wednesday took no offense to this. She continued on. "I used to come here every summer when I was a young girl and just float for hours with the currents."

"Why'd you stop?"

Wednesday frowned. "Once I turned six, I had my familial training to complete. Fencing, learning new languages, memorizing the book of the dead..." Wednesday trailed off. "It's good to be back."

She turned to Enid with an expectant look on her face. Somehow, slow music began to play through the comms, and Wednesday held out a hand to Enid.

"May I have this dance?" she asked.

Enid grabbed her hand. "You may."

Expertly, Wednesday drew Enid closer to her, and they began a slow dance under many miles of water, listening to the tinny music on the comms. They spun, suspended by the water, hands clasped together, heads bowed closely, air bubbles streaming past them and swirling up forming a shape of heart before dissipating.

Enid felt herself relax into this soothing moment. How many people could say they'd danced romantically under the sea?

This was only something an Addams could ever come up with.

Enid closed her eyes and savored this moment.

After the magic of the submarine, Tuesday's adventure was mundane in origin.

"A suburb?" Enid arched a brow up when the family car pulled into what could be any small town in America.

"We've always wanted to visit one," Morticia said in that languid manner of hers. "We've heard so much about taking a walk in the park, going to the movies, having some ice cream, and oh, what was the other thing, darling?" She turned to her husband who kissed the back of her hand with fervor.

"Flying a kite," he said.

And that was what they did. Enid was just happy to be on this trip with them, because it meant getting to spend more time with Wednesday, and it meant getting to learn more about her family.

The family made for an odd sight, sticking out like a sore thumb as they walked through the suburban area dressed in all black. People cleared paths around them but the Addams didn't seem to mind.

They sat down for picnic in the park, Lurch presenting them with a well prepared basket of food and drink that was all surprisingly normal. Enid was prepared to eat weird food but they were all finger foods like sliced sandwiches which Enid supposed made sense if they were trying to be 'normal' for a day.

They flew a kite, though it had Pugsley attached to it. He yelped with glee as the wind almost blew him away if not for Enid's werewolf reflexes kicking in, in time to grab the string that had slipped out of Gomez's hands.

Enid had been expected to be thanked; she wasn't.

"It's all part of the flying a kite aspect," Wednesday had explained when Gomez had let go of the string a third time, only for Enid to catch it and return it again.

"How so?"

"Sometimes you lose a kite," Wednesday explained.

"That's your brother!"

"He'll enjoy getting fetched out of some tree he's flown into," Wednesday said calmly and Enid hesitantly relented, resisting with everything she had to not fetch the string a fourth time and watching Pugsley being swept away with the wind. Lurch went to find him, his shambling frame moving quicker than usual to not lose track of the boy.

After Pugsley was returned, spitting out leaves and with a bird's nest on his head that Morticia fussed over and removed, they went to watch a movie.

They weren't picky about it, going to see whatever was there. Enid had to stop Wednesday from gouging out her eyes halfway through the movie when it got too sappy for her. The last thing to do was a tour of the neighborhood and the Addams family examined the unimpressive cookie cutter houses with awes and oohs. They even took note of a nearby Walmart and went inside to examine the rows of items kept inside the store. Enid found herself explaining to the family how the modern day world worked and they listened to her with rapture.

It felt nice to be listened to for once.

It almost felt like Enid was part of their family, and not just Wednesday's girlfriend.

8 pm rolled around and the family settled down at an ice cream parlor. Gomez was amazed by how many choices there were and ended up buying one of each flavor for the table to try. They all crowded around the booth and sampled from the cups with their plastic spoons. Gomez ended up feeding Morticia bites of the ice cream from his spoon, delecting in her reaction to the flavors.

"How is this one?"

"Oh, divine, my love," she answered, humming at the mango habanero ice cream.

Enid found herself partial to the regular vanilla and chocolate ones. She enjoyed watching Wednesday scrunch her nose up at the flavors she did not like.

"This one is alright," Wednesday concluded, pointing to the mint chocolate flavor.

"I thought you'd like the pickle one," Enid said.

"Normally I would, but it fails to truly elicit the pickle flavor as it should. The ketchup flavor is a close contender for first place."

Wednesday went back to sampling the others, while Pugsley simply stuffed his face with as much ice cream as he could irregardless of the taste.

Enid sighed happily. Surrounded by the Addams family, she felt at home.
