"They said okay," Vlad said as he walked back into the room.
"It's not like they could've said otherwise. They need me and I need them. Simple."
"You're getting braver with your responses be careful they might not like that out there."
I sighed. "Thank you. For everything. I will."
Vlad smiled. "Training starts tomorrow at 5 o'clock sharp."
"What? How am I supposed to get sleep? When does it end?"
"You're a soldier now. Don't expect to be coddled like a child. And it ends when they think you're finished."
"I am still a child though. But, I'll be your perfect solider."
"Good girl." He patted me on my head. "I'll pick you up."
When I went to bed that night tons of thoughts filled my mind. The death of my parents. The fact I somehow am special. Me, an ordinary girl. Special. I thought about everything. But the most shockingly scary thought was the fact that I wanted to make my captures proud. That I can be their best solider. That I want to be. And I settled on a resolution. I will be because then taking them down will be that much sweeter. The next morning there was a sharp knock on my door. So it begins. I thought. I walked out of bed and opened my door. And spoke:
"Good morning Vlad."
"Good morning. Here are your training clothes."
People with racks came in full of blacks, leathers, whites, and reds.
"These are mine?! You guys don't joke around. Where are the colors though?" I chuckled.
"You said you wanted the best and we don't wear bright colors here. Bright colors make you more noticeable to targets, darker colors help you blend in. So we gave you the best variety we could. out of what we thought was the best." I stared at the clothes in shock. You could smell the brand new leather. And they even gave me under garments too. They thought of everything. Sparkly dresses, fitness clothes, even jewelry, and masquerade masks. "What are these for?" I held up a mask.
"Undercover missions."
"My eyes lit up. I'll get to go on those?" Before this would all seem like a dream but now that it is reality, it's mind-blowing. I felt bad because at that moment I had completely forgotten about all I lost. And I focused on what I was getting.
"Tell us when you're ready." He ushered everyone out. His voice brought me back to reality. "Hurry now. We have work to do." He walked out and I got changed, when I was done I opened the door. Vlad held out his hand and I held it. We walked to an empty room except for the mats on the floor, the boxing ring, and the weapons that lined the walls. All sorts of weapons too. My eyes found a special one.
"Vlad?"
"Mhm?"
"When I'm ready can you make me a special weapon like that?" I pointed to the wall.
"Mhm yes. What kind do you have in mind for it?"
My eyes landed on a beautiful whip. In the shape of two animals and gems for eyes.
"Something that looks like that but can change into different weapons and with different animals."
"You ask for a lot."
"Don't worry. I'll be worthy. I'll be your best soldier. I'll earn it I promise." I couldn't stop thinking about that whip. And how much I would do to prove I earned it.
I would do
Anything.
