My eyes flashed open, I could see every twinkle of dust sparking in the room. I got up on my feet gently rubbing my neck, the bite was no longer there. I was in the same room I was in before but alone.

“Hello?”

I gasped at the sound of my voice it sounded higher pitched, in a sweet and innocent way. I began to examine my arms they were extremely pale and flawless, I ran over to the near mirror my face was the same along with shimmering red eyes. Blinking a few times I realized that they wouldn’t turn another color. The door opened slowly and cautiously, followed by Alec. He stared at my examining my whole transformation and smiled.

“How are you feeling?”

I looked at him wide eyed, “Honestly Alec… I don’t know why you ask? Oh yeah you bit me! Turning me into into…”

“A newborn vampire?”

“Why? what-what did I do to be chosen for this?”

“You have mental powers” He responded calmly.  

“What do you mean?” surprising myself with the confidence in my voice.

“Well, from what I’ve heard from Aro, you should be able to see emotions and telepathically speak to others.”

“I have powers?” I smirked “How do I use them?”

Alec took my wrists and spun me around in a fast circle I didn’t speak or even flinch, when he set me on my feet I stood in front of him cocking my head.

“You know I wouldn’t hurt you, didn’t you?” He chuckled.

“Well I didn’t sense any threat…”

“Your power is for sure there, you just have to practice It’ll come once you know how to use it correctly, see if you were a normal newborn you would have seen me as a danger and tried to kill me right then.”

“Lovey” I sneered “So when can I go home?”

I began to walk over to the door, Alec placed his hand in my path.

“You can’t.”

“Uh, Ya I can”

“No you’re a vampire now, you can’t be involved in the human world.”

“Yes I can”

“It’s the law” He spoke to me sternly.

“Laws are made to be broken” I smart talked.

“And those who break them die, got that?”

I stood in silence not knowing how to respond to what was happening. I shunned my face away from his and walked back to the corner.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like-”

“Just go I’ll learn about what I’ve become by myself!” I said harshly not even glancing in his direction.

Alec walked so he was halfway in the doorway “One thing if I may ask?”

“Hmm?”

“How much do you remember?”

I looked forward for a second staring at the dusty books in the bookshelf. I tried to get any type of clue or information from my mind, but I could only remember the last two days before the… tour.

 “Two days”

“and your name?” He asked.

“n-no” I panicked.

How could I forget my name!?

“What is it?” I glimpsed up at Alec.

“Oh, its-”

Jane walked through the door her face just as upset as the day I was transformed.

“Your name is Evelyn” a small smile growing on her face.

“Jane!” Alec snapped.

“What wrong with my name Alec?”

Alec looked bitterly at Jane.

“Yes Alec, want to tell her, or just let it go? hmm?”

Alec looked at me with dismay “It nothing Evelyn… nothing”
