The first place you guys check is the flower meadow. Taking a brief glance around, everything seems to he virtually unchanged. You sniffed the air and found that it was just as flowery as it ever was.

"Nothing unusual." Garnet states.

"Achoo!"

"Bless ya." Spinel handed Steven a tissue from your bag.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your next spot was the geode, which was surprisingly still holding out, thanks to the tape still plastered across it.
"Nothing here, either." Pearl notes. "And the geode is holding nicely."
"Incredible." You rumbled, your brow lifted. Funny how some things so simple can be so strong. You thought.
You made a mental note to give Greg credit next time you saw him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Your next destination was an extravagant looking mountain of sorts called the sky spire.

"Whoa! Now that's something!" Ameythyst exclaims pointing to a goat with a pair of goat kids around it.

"Heh, Steven Jr.'s been busy." She smirks, with a sly chuckle. She then elbows you. "This makes you a great-grandma, Mama B!"

You blinked, furrowing your brow in confusion. "What now?"

Garnet pats your shoulder. "Congratulations."

Spinel squinted in confusion. "How did you-?"

"Hey, we're getting off task here!" Steven quickly exclaimed.

"We've looked all over!" Pearl exclaimed with frustration. "There's nothing here to find!"

Steven rolls his eyes, annoyed with pearl's insistence, and lowered his voice to a mutter. "But you're wrong."

Unfortunately, his voice wasn't low enough to he unheard by pearl. "EXCUSE me?!"

Steven shrank back, upon realizing he was heard. "I-I mean-"

"Steady pearl." You growled, making pearl tense up. "Don't snap at him like that."

"(Name), I've already stated to him, nothing on earth can use these warps but us!" Pearl explained, trying to keep her tone in check.

"And what if it came from space?"

Pearl stared at you, her eyes darting back and forth. "I- ...apologize for my outburst."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally you come up to the galaxy warp.
"These are the warps that once connected us to other planets. If something tried to come from space, it would be through here." Pearl explained walking towards one of the larger warps.
"But wait! This warp pad is broken!" There was a tone in pearl's voice that made your skin crawl. "Marked inactive by the very "depressed" cartoon breakfast sticker you placed here yourself!"
Steven walks over to the warp and places his hand on the sticker.
"Look, pearl's right, like usual." Ameythyst teases, nuzzling against Steven. "Ugh! You get used to it."
"I guess so." Steven states, seemingly defeated. Then the gems sighed.
"Oh man! Finally! That took all day!" Ameythyst exclaims.
"It was important to make Steven feel secure." Garnet assures.
"Yes, Steven feels much better now." Pearl assures, seemingly satisfied with herself.
You stared to feel the heat in your body rise. How can they brush him off like this!?
"Only, he isn't."
"Huh?"
Everyone looks at you, who now had a prominent scowl on your muzzle. "How are Gems so oblivious to Steven's feelings?"
Pearl scoffs. "(Name), we've checked everywhere for him, and now we have confirmed that he was in fact seeing things! Everything's fine now!"
"But he clearly isn't!" You gestured to the clearly tired, distraught child. "He's clearly still on edge! He saw something outside of that stream!"
"And I know he didn't!" Pearl reaffirms, raising her voice slightly in irritation. "And this proves it all!"
"Actually pearl doesn't know! This is just a speculation!" You exclaimed, making everyone flinch. Steven stood up, his brows lifting in what looked like surprise. "Gems just assume! They don't even bother listen to him! They keep brushing off his feelings like they mean nothing! Steven saw something out there! There must be something out there!"
"(Name), calm down! You're getting worked up over nothing!" Pearl shoots back, not even trying to hide her own defensive tone. "How many times do I have to say that there is nothing out there?!"
"But pearl doesn't know that!" You growled, your eyes glowing. "How can gems be so sure nothing is out there!?"
Pearl groans, rolling her eyes. "Because you just don't understand any of this."
"WHAT."
Your voice suddenly sounded out of nowhere, making pearl flinch and turn to you. You felt her shrink a bit beneath your contemptuous glare, and you were dimly aware of a subtle shifting in your mouth.
"Why wouldn't (Name) understand, pearl? What's not to understand?"
Pearl stared at you, wide-eyed. She was already regretting her words. "Uh..."
You saw her look you up and down and suddenly you felt something in your head click. A very wide, very toothy smile twist your muzzle.
"Oohh, It's the corruption isn't it?" Your voice dipped into a venomous pitch, and you were dimly aware of steam leaking from your muzzle.
"(Name) can't understand anything because she's corrupted! She couldn't POSSIBLY understand what feelings are!" You batted your lashes at the pearl and took a step towards her. "Is that right? O wise, uncorrupt gem?"
"I- N-No! I ju- I never meant it like that..." she backtracked quickly, taking a step back. "I... he... I-I was just confirming that his claim was... false?"
"Pearl only assumes he was false. Without even a second thought to his feelings. Gems just believe their words are law." Your smile strained against a snarl as you leaned towards the thin gem. "Be honest. It's because he's half human, isn't it? He's only half-gem, so that gives the almighty pure gems the privilege to half-listen. Right?"
Pearl went silent, her hands fiddling with each other as she was locked with your scornful scowl. She could only let out a squeak in response. "No-?"
"Look, (name). That's enough." Garnet stepped between you both. Her voice was stern, but you could sense her uncertainty as she stood between you two. "We were only confirming that Steven was seeing things. It has nothing to do with his human half. You both need to let it go."
"Right." Your smile dropped, and a surly scowl wrinkles your muzzle.
"But if it were Rose, Gems would stop at absolutely nothing to find what she saw, wouldn't they?"
The three gems gasped. Garnet's voice took on a more aggressive tone. "(Name), you have no right to bring her into this!"
"(Name)'s only making an observation." You snarled back. "In hindsight, Since he is her son, (Name) would expect better treatment." You then let out a mocking chuckle. "Then again, what does (Name) know? She's just a big, dumb CORRUPT GEM."
Garnet was tensed up, her fists clenched in rising anger. "(Name)-!"
"GARNET."
The echo of your voice hung in the air as a deafening silence came over everyone. Garnet felt the burning anger freeze over, replacing itself with icy dread as you stared at her unblinkingly.
"If Steven feels he saw something, he should be taken just as seriously as the rest of us." Your voice was stern and sterile. "We will wait as long as we need to to see if his claim is true, because just like Rose he's just as important as she was."
Garnet's mouth was half open. "But you-"
"End of discussion."
Sparks of (color) energy crackled from your horns, causing Garnet to snap her mouth shut. Her teammates looked on with shock. Spinel had her hand over her mouth, looking worried while steven had his brow furrowed in surprise. Garnet gulped.
"I... er... v-very well." Her voice was uncharacteristically small as she took a step back. "We'll... we'll ch-check around for any... clues."
You snorted, blowing a puff of steam into her visor. "That's more like it."
You turned to the two smaller gems, your voice softening. "Come Steven and Spinel."
You walked to a warp pad and stood atop of it. Without turning to face them, you spoke up one final time, your voice cold and flat, "Dinner in 10."
The last thing they saw was Steven hugging your arm with an oddly relieved smile and spinel waving nervously to the gem trio before flashing away.
The gems stared in astonishment.
"...the heck was THAT!?" Ameythyst finally exclaimed with absolute disbelief. "Garnet, did you seriously let that happen!?"
"Thi-This has gone too far!" Pearl's shock replaced itself with unnerved anger. "I-I can't believe she even thought to use Rose against us like that!" She turned to Garnet. "Are- are you seriously going to let her talk to you like that?!"
Garnet didn't reply.
"...Garnet?"
After a moment Garnet took off her visors, shuddering from the residual chill of your stare.
"Hoo... That was close."
