[ you are my sunshine || dumb tour shit ]
warnings: language, redneck attractions, cheesy stuff
concept: on a day off in small town ohio, there's really not much to do.

Whoever scheduled the day off for southeastern Ohio was an idiot.

Really, there was nothing much to do, since most of the crew and touring bands were sleeping off hangovers, and it's fucking Ohio, but a quick Google Search brought up some things.

Lewis scanned over the list, Logan watching over his shoulder tiredly. "We could... go to those cave things. Or visit Rocky Boot. Or... drop by the Ohio University campus and scare the shit out of some college kids."

"As fun as that sounds, I think I want to pretend to be a normal guy for once," Logan murmured. "We could go shopping and save the more touristy things for next time."

Lewis fondly kissed the other man's cheek, then gently pushed him backwards. He slid his phone into his pocket, and within moments, he was curled into Logan's side. "Let's sleep for a few more hours before we do anything. You look exhausted."

"We have energy drinks and coffee for a reason. But... if you insist."

-

The extra sleep was definitely a good idea, even if it meant they missed the hotel's breakfast. It just meant that they got to go out and argue over where they wanted to get breakfast like a normal couple.

They ended up in a small café, the tired looking blonde behind the counter bringing them their food and drinks. Lewis focused in on her nametag, because there in the corner was their band name.

Of course, she noticed him staring, rolling her eyes. "My roommate decorated the tag."

warnings: language, blood and gore
bailey's pov

My lungs burn by the time Chase pulls us into a safe place. At least, she tells me it's safe.

I can't help the tears on my face, because really, I'm scared out of my mind, and when I'm scared, I cry.

It freaks me out when she slams her hand over my mouth, but my startled shriek is muffled. "Bailey, baby, I need you to see if you can hear anything coming," she mumbles, then lets go.

I try. But I can't hear anything over the pounding of my heart.

[ doctor doctor || part two ]
warnings: language, more hospital shit obviously

When Lewis showed up at work the next morning, it really didn't surprise Logan. Even on his days off, the older man tended to show up, even if it was just to hang around for a while.

As soon as the office door opened, Logan got to his feet, a grin on his lips as he realized Lewis did have the kid with him. "I wanna see him. I've still got time before anyone gets here."

When Tyler heard Logan's voice, he started squealing and struggling against his dad, trying to get to the other man. "Oh, I guess you can take him, if you take his coat off," Lewis sighed, passing the two year old off to his friend.

Logan's grin only grew as he hugged the kid close, and Ty hugged him back. "Hey, buddy! I missed you."

"Missed you," the child echoed, pressing his face against Logan's.

[ in the mourning || chase's death thing ]
warnings: language, character death

The phone call woke Bailey up.

He'd dozed off in front of the TV, although now the screen was blank. It took him a minute to find his phone, which was playing out a generic ringtone instead of a custom one. That was weird, especially for the middle of the night.

He didn't think anything of it.

The person on the other end sounded sympathetic as she asked, "Is this Bailey Starling?"

He answered affirmatively, more confused than anything else as the lady continued on.

"Your friend Cassie- Chase- was taken to the hospital after an accident. Currently, the doctors are trying their best, but... You'd better come in as soon as possible, honey. I'm sorry."

It was all Bailey could do to call his friend, to get a ride to the hospital. He was shaking, constantly pinching his arm in a futile attempt to wake himself up.

Nothing could've happened to Chase. She was invincible, at least in his eyes. She couldn't have gotten hurt badly enough to possibly kill her. Impossible. She promised she'd always be there for him. Always couldn't have ended already. No way in hell.

If this was a prank, he was going to kill someone. And he didn't feel like he was exaggerating at all.

When Ben got there, Bailey was well on his way to hysteric crying. Around his shoulders was one of Chase's many blankets, clutched in his hands was a soft toy she'd given him years ago.

Gently, Ben directed the older man (but really, boy would be about the only accurate term to describe him) down to the car. After making sure Bailey's seatbelt was fastened, he drove to the hospital.

"You can stay here," Bailey told his friend, his voice trembling wildly.

Ben shook his head firmly. "I'm coming with you. You don't have to do this yourself, buddy."
