Chase sighed and cuddled closer to her bandmate, pressing a soft kiss to her collarbone. "This drive is taking so fucking long."

"Marc drives like a little old lady. But Cody drives like he's chasing after Satan. And you won't let me drive because you're being clingy," Maureen told her, nails scraping against the singer's scalp in a soothing manner.

"Marc also heard that," he snapped. "I'm sorry that we're in a shitty minivan that'd probably fall apart if we drove too much faster, but I like most of you too much to kill you."

"Are you seriously still pissed about the fact I find your mother attractive?" Cody chimed in, rolling his eyes. "It's been ages, forgive and forget."

"It hasn't even been two days."

Throughout all of this, Bailey was thankfully asleep on the other side of Chase, holding on to his seatbelt tightly with one hand. The other cradled a stuffed animal to his chest, one that he'd been given by a fan at the last tour stop.

"I'm gonna sleep, wake me up when we either get there or stop for gas." Chase closed her eyes, and for good measure, hid her face completely against Maureen's neck.

Of course, the other woman didn't like this as much as Chase, but she just grudgingly let her. It was easier to just let it happen, because it wasn't harmful to anyone.

"I got this song that I need someone to do a duet with me on, but... I've pissed off almost everyone we've ever collabed with before, or it's awkward between us." Chase addressed the band, pacing in their dressing room.

Cody looked bored as he flipped through a magazine. "Is it because you've fucked them? I bet that's the reason."

Marcus tossed his shoe at the other guitarist, missing him completely and just barely missing Bailey. "Shut up and let her talk, Jesus Christ."

Bailey carefully picked up the shoe and took it back to its owner. "Um, I could talk to the guys in With Love, if you'd want? Their fans are thirsting for new content and things are kinda weird between singer and lyricist, and Logan seems like a really chill dude, and Lewis almost always follows what Logan wants to do."

"Bailey... you're a genius."

"So, you want me to do a song with you?" Logan asked. He kicked his feet up on the coffee table, crossing his arms as he leaned back into the couch.

"Yeah, man. Bailey said that you were a chill guy, and everyone we've worked with before avoids me at all costs now. Because-"

"We've heard rumors about why they avoid you," Lewis chimed in, perching on the arm of the couch with his eyeliner in hand. "But rumors aren't always fact, and you don't have to share that info with us."

"Thanks. So, what do you say?" Chase looked and sounded hopeful.

Lewis and Logan exchanged a glance, and after the slight shrug of Lewis' delicate shoulders, Logan turned and gave the girl a smile. "Sounds like fun. I'm in."

"Dope! I'll send you a link to a demo, check it out whenever."

Bailey took a deep breath before entering the room. For once, he didn't seem nervous as he handed his literal idols their drinks, even smiling instead of full on stupid grinning.

The guys thanked him, Logan even going as far as to ruffle up his hair. "How long does this normally take?" Lewis asked before taking a drink.

"For all of them to stop fighting? Never happens. But the recording thing? If everyone's cooperating, it'll maybe take an hour or two. M and M are good about only needing one or two takes, but Cody and Chaser goof off. And obviously Logan's perfect as he is." Bailey blushed as he sat down across from them.

Lewis grinned and nodded. "Logan's the best. I've never heard him hit a bad note."

The mentioned man smiled humbly, throwing his arm around Lewis' shoulders. "You're too kind. Really."

After a long moment of staring at each other, Lewis almost imperceptibly leaned closer, but a quick squeeze on his shoulder served to remind him that they weren't alone. He cleared his throat and stared back down at his cup. "So... are you having fun being on tour?"

Bailey thought it over for a few moments. "Yeah. I think so. Your fans are the sweetest people ever, and I swear, it seems like more of them come up to me and talk than Chaser's 'loyal groupies'."

"I'm glad they're treating you well. I'd hate to have to yell at the fans," Lewis told him, every word sounding genuine. "You and the rest of your band know you can come to us if you've got a problem, don't you?"

"We're here, you know?"

Bailey nodded, pausing before just going ahead and blurting out: "You guys are my favorite band and this is just super surreal and I love how sincere you are and how much talent you've got and-"

Lewis reached out and grabbed the younger boy's hand. "We're just normal dudes, we've got our own shortcomings like everyone else."

"But... the whole fan worship thing is kinda cool too."
