I didn't really want to go . Gage was going to be there and especially since i just saw him with Hailey earlier . I didn't want to go .

Why did i have to like all the guys who don't really me ?

" Kennadee let's go !" my dad yelled from the living room . I sighed and picked up the bag that had my change of clothes .

I saw my little brother Payton have his things too . I was feeling really nervous so I brought my headphones with me .

As we drove to this rich neighborhood we made this turn and my parents drove into the driveway . I could already see kids from the window .

I hugged my parents bye and made my way to the door with my brother .

" Hey guys thanks for coming ." Mrs. Lisa told us as she opened the door for us to come in. I looked around and saw the kids from our youth but I was too not familiar with them as everyone was with them .

I awkwardly waited there and i saw him ... and hailey , of course he lied to me . I rolled my eyes and went back inside the house .

" Hey Gage told me to give this to you ." Sophia gave me my friends bandanna .

I changed out of my clothes into my bathing suit and as i came out i saw my best friends !

" Ashley! Lia." I waved them over to me by the food table they had set out . We all got cookies and than made our way to the pool .

More and more people started to come out . I made my way into the pool .

" Hailey here wear my necklace ." Gage said as i sat down in the pool . She giggled and put the necklace around her neck .

" Looks good on you ."  He looked over and made eye contact with me and i looked away .

"Hey uh- Ashley can you come to the bathroom with me please ?". I went over to her .

She turned her attention away from Abby to me . She saw my watery eyes and knew something was wrong.

"Sorry Abby i'll be right back ." Abby nodded and gave me a small smile .

We made our way into the bathroom and i let the tears fall out .

" Why do i always like the bad ones . it sucks ."

" I don't know Kennadee, maybe you should take a break from guys ." she hugged me and wiped my tears with a napkin .

She wasn't wrong though .

We went out and I saw people in the hot tub and i made my way over there . Gage and Hailey of course were there also .

I couldn't take it anymore so I left all annoyed again . I shouldn't let them get to more but they did .

" Hey Kennadee what's wrong ?" I looked up to see Joshua.

" I know Hailey hates me but i did nothing wrong . Plus Gage sucks ." I sighed and sat down and put my feet in the water .

" Don't let them get to you . Plus i told hailey you didn't hate her and i'm sure she doesn't hate you ." I just sat there . I really didn't want to talk about it anymore and I think he got the hint .

" Well let's get them off your mind , let's go play volleyball ."

" Why not let's go . " I gave him a soft small smile and began to go over where the people who don't really like drama are.

" Hey guys is it okay if me and her play ?" He called out to them .

" Yeah of course ." Jill called out to us . 

i'm not so good at volleyball but i'm so ready for this !

— 30 mins later -

" OH YEAH ." Josh came up and gave me a high five .  I finally did my trick off the driving board .

" But yours is so much better ." i pouted like a little baby .

" But all that counts is that you did it ." that made me feel happy in side .

" It's getting cold i think i'm going to stop swimming."

" Aw come on Kennadee keep swimming with me pleaseee."

" Sorryyy" I drag on. " i'm going to go change ." i laughed and made my way in . I checked my phone to see it was 8:00 .

" Almost time for fire works kids !" Mr Kelly called out to us . I was so excited for fire works . I love all the colors and how they explode in the air .

I put on a top over my swimsuit and my way out on the street .

" Hey I can see your back ." Joshua commented.

I flinched because he scared the shit out of me . " Seriously  I hate you ." I laughed .

" No you love me and you know it ."

We continued to walk over to a neighborhood with the rest of the kids and just talked . He really helped me forget what's going on .

" So that's why you don't have your phone . Silly you ." I gotta say i was totally embarrassed.

" I know i know ." I laughed and laid down on the street. He sat next to me and we both just listened to each other talk. I told him how Olivia Rodrigo's songs helped me through everything .

" Dude 'good for u' is so good." I agreed with him.
I looked over at him . How come we felt like we've know each other for awhile .

He made me feel good ... but i don't need to think about that . I shouldn't just move on like that . I don't want people to think i'm
this player or someone who moves on that fast .

We made it back to the house and my parents got there . Let's just say i felt sad going home i wanted to talk to him more . I sighed and said my goodbyes to everyone .

" At least i'll see you Wednesday." Joshua came up and handed me my bag and phone .

" Hm don't miss me too much ." i winked and went out with my brother .

" How was it kids ?" My dad asked .

" It was really fun ." I explained everything but left out the drama because he doesn't need to know everything.

i go into my bedroom and followed him on instagram on my sisters account because i don't have it .

I typed on the keyboard and typed him a dm message since he answered the request fast .

I shut the laptop off and began to drift away in a deep sleep .

"hopefully he messages me in the morning " I thought .
