Still inside the bathroom, Connor stood up and tried to shake off the traumatic flashback. He moved over to the sink and splashed water on his face, gently slapping his cheeks in the process. Reaching for a towel, he heard it, the sound that would haunt the rest of the night.

"I can't do this anymore!" Connor ran out of the bathroom to find Mr. Price yelling at his older son. "I can't pretend this is all okay!"

"Dear..." Mrs. Price stood up and tried to calm him.

"No," He turned to her. "I was raised to believe this was wrong. You were raised to believe the same thing. Guess what? It still is wrong! Why are you alright with our son being like this?" Mr. Price motioned to Kevin who was innocently staring at the game of Monopoly they had started.

"Because he's our child!" She screamed back, her face starting to turn red from anger. "As parents it's our duty to love him no matter what!"

Mr. Price let out a mixture of a grunt and inaudible words. "He needs help," He faced Kevin, who was now standing. "We can fix you, and Connor too."

"Help? Help us from what?" Kevin snapped back. "We're happy being ourselves."

Connor awkwardly stood behind Kevin as him and Darius shared concerned glances.

"Dad, it's really not that big of a deal," Darius piped up after seeing Connor plead for some assistance.

"You be quiet!" Mr. Price pointed at his other son, whose mouth had quickly shut.

"I think you should take your own advice," Kevin moved closer to his father.

"Look here-"

"Enough!" Mrs. Price grabbed her husband's arm. "Kevin is our son. He's being himself. If you can't get it through your thick head that he's enjoying his life right now, then we should leave."

"Good idea, I can't even look at him right now," He shook his head and walked over to the coat rack.

"Mr. Price," Connor's voice quivered as all eyes locked on him. "Kevin is a good person, a great person in fact. He's done nothing wrong be being who he is, and you can't change him. Trust me, my parents tried to 'fix' me and failed. Also, God preaches that we love one another and that he loves us all. If you can't love him like God does, then you are the one sinning."

Mr. Price was wordless. His mouth moved open and closed, trying to force something out. However, nothing came. He just slipped his coat on and rushed out of the apartment, unsure of what he had just heard.

Mrs. Price embraced Kevin, begging him to look past his father's outburst and insisted that he still loved him. Next she hugged Connor, apologizing for the event. Before tears came rushing out, she followed after her fuming husband leaving Darius there.

"Hey," Connor called over to Darius before he could leave. "Thanks."

"For what?" Darius walked back to him.

"Helping us out there," He smiled. "You were pretty brave."

"It was really nothing."

Kevin shook his head and hugged his brother. "You may think so, but it meant the world to me."

"Get off me," He laughed and playfully squirmed his way out of the hug. "Don't listen to dad, he's almost sixty and still thinks a flip phone is the best thing since sliced bread."

Connor and Kevin said goodbye to Darius and thanked him again.

Kevin was surprisingly calm and shrugged off the event saying that he expected nothing less. Something inside him knew that his father would come around at some point, so his outbreak left no lingering feelings of hatred. Thanks to what Connor had said, he was sure that by Christmas his father's views would change. One the other hand, something was poking at Connor making him unable to do anything else but pet their cat and watch Kevin clean up the small mess they had created.
