The rest of the day was a mix of randomness. She had gathered a few books she thought Loki might enjoy, watched a couple movies, went out and bought a guitar solely because she was bored and wanted to have something to do, and even started doing some drawings in a sketchbook. Most of them were strange, shadowy looking creatures with red eyes and glowing red claws, and some of them even looked like spiders. She couldn't quite explain what they were and where she was getting the idea from but chose to ignore it. She drew a couple of sketches of her teammates, and even one of Loki. That one she colored with watercolors and was surprised at the picture she drew. He actually looked pretty friendly. She didn't know why she drew him like that since she had never actually seen him look at all approachable or even remotely friendly-looking.
She decided to skip dinner, far to entranced in covering her walls with drawings. She ended up falling asleep on her fluffy carpet with her sketchpad clutched in her hands.
When Jay woke up, she found she was in her bed. She immediately knew that Tony was probably the one to put her there, as only he would think to go check on her. She sat up slowly, looking around her room and blinking a few times. She put on her glasses as she stumbled out of bed and grabbed a pair of black cat pajamas, heading into the bathroom to take a quick shower. After thoroughly washing and dressing, she felt extremely alert to her surroundings. Good, back to normal.
She yawned as she entered the main living room of the tower, nodding at Tony as she entered the kitchen. "The others have a mission?"
"Yeah. Clint and Nat will be gone for the next three days. They're over in Nevada, I think. Thor went to visit Jane before he has to go back to Asgard, and Steve and Bucky went out to be by themselves, I think. Sam's out doing his morning jog. Just you and me, kiddo." He smiled, returning to reading the magazine in his hands. "How was Loki, by the way? He didn't threaten you or anything, right?"
"No, why would he do that! He doesn't have anything to gain from it." She grabbed a pack of Oreos and two mugs. She filled a kettle up with water, putting it over the stove to boil. "Do you think I'd be able to take him out of his cell? Just to see the world he tried to destroy."
"Nope." He said, popping the 'p'. "He doesn't get let out of his cell. Period." She snorted, and he looked at her in confusion.
"Sorry, in London we call it 'full stop.'" Tony rolled his eyes, taking a sip of his coffee. "I have a meeting in a few minutes, so you'll have the power tower to yourself, kiddo. Don't burn it down, alright? Ask FRIDAY for anything you need."
"Yes, daddio. I know the drill." She waved nonchalantly as he smiled before going to the elevator to his own floor. She poured water into both of the mugs, putting two lemon green tea bags in each before putting the pack of Oreos under her arm and taking both the mugs. Jay walked over to the elevator, telling FRIDAY to go to the basement. She obeyed without question, sending the elevator down to the area where Loki was being held in.
"Oh, lovely. You again." Loki growled, turning away from her.
"Don't sound too surprised." She smiled, walking over to the control pad. She pushed the button to open the cell and walked in, placing the mug of tea down behind him as well as a few Oreos. With that, she left the cell and closed it, sitting down on the floor right outside of the glass cross-legged. Loki unwillingly turned around to look down at the mug and cookies.
"What are these?"
"It's tea and Oreos. I didn't know what kind you would like so I just gave you lemon tea, and those cookies are Oreos. They're really good. Try one! I didn't poison them, by the way. If I was going to kill you, I would do it in a cooler way." She ate one of the Oreos, pulling up the black hoodie that had little cat ears on it over her hair.
Jay watched as Loki poked the cookie, pursing his lips as he narrowed his eyes at the treat.
"For fuck's sake, just eat it."
"Don't tell me what to do, mortal." He crossed his arms, glaring at her.
Time to reverse psychologize this shit. "You know what, don't eat it. It takes a really highly evolved Midgardian to eat it, something you obviously aren't." She plopped another cookie into her mouth, munching happily as Loki scoffed and picked his up.
"You do not need to be a Midgardian to eat this, you idiotic human." He ate the cookie, looking at her strangely as she started snickering. "What are you laughing at." He growled, glaring at her.
"I just got you to eat the cookie. Do you like it?"
He rolled his eyes before responding. "Sure, it's fine." He grumbled, sniffing the steam rising from the mug of tea. Slowly, very slowly, he lifted the mug and took a sip. He licked his lips before taking another sip while staring directly at her. She smiled and ate another cookie.
"Did you have a favorite dessert back on Asgard?" She asked, taking a drink of her tea.
"My mother used to make raspberry scones whenever I was angry or sad." He mumbled, running his finger over the rim of the dark green mug as he looked down at the ground.
"Your mother seemed like she cared a lot about you."
"She did. She taught me everything I know."
"And your father... Did he ever do anything for you?"
"No. He didn't care for me at all. I was just a tool to be used by him. He raised me telling me that my birthright was to become king of Asgard. Now I know that my birthright was to die. Anything I did, my father would say Thor did it better. 'Thor this', and 'Thor that'. He favored Thor over me in every way possible! Thor was a warrior, and I was a sorcerer. In Asgard, Warriors are seen as the superior rank."
"Well, if it's any consolation, I think sorcery is way cooler than being a warrior. I mean, shooting spells and all that stuff? Way cooler than just waving a sword around! And with sorcery, you can learn to sword fight and stuff as well. When you only want to be a warrior, there is no room for practicing anything else like magic."
"Oh, please. What do you know about magic?"
She smiled brightly, taking out a deck of cards. Her fingertips were covered in bright blue mist, the mist surrounding the cards as they floated up into the air. "Forgive me if I mess up. I just woke up like twenty minutes ago." She gently waved her hands and pointed a finger over at the floor beside her. The cards flew down and began to build themselves into a castle. They slowly morphed into a dragon, the creature opening its mouth and breathing a plume of 'fire'. Finally, she spread her arms out in an arc formation, similar to the moon. The cards spaced themselves a few centimeters apart as she stood up. Jay pointed a finger at the wall and directed all of her power into the cards. They shot like bullets towards the wall, embedding themselves in the steel.
She yawned, stretching her arms before levitating the cards back into her pocket. She sat down again, looking tiredly at Loki. She could see the faintest glimpse of surprise on his face, but it was quickly washed away.
"That was good, for a mortal." He muttered, finishing off his tea.
"That was a nice compliment, for a douchey god." Loki rolled his eyes as she smirked. "Well, I have other things to do. I'll come back later." She smiled as she pushed the button to open his cell and walked in, watching as he scooted back a bit as though she were going to hurt him. Jay picked up his mug, giving a last, warm smile before leaving the cell, closing it, and heading back up to the main floor.
