Thirty minutes had passed since you arrived at the Kunugi-Kaze Café where you and your boyfriend were supposed to have your anniversary date. You look at the watch strapped around your nondominant wrist then at the entrance a few distance away to your right, hoping to see him finally arriving. You try to remember the time when you and your boyfriend officially became a couple but you couldn't. Somewhere along the depths of your mind, a part of you is screaming for help. That part of you that knows the truth, that your love for him had already faded a very long time ago...

"Are you finished with your (flavor) cake, Y/N?" You snapped out of your train of thoughts and face where the voice came from, only to see the class president giving a polite smile at you in which you returned.

You nod as Isogai gets the porcelain plate with the fork on top of it while some frosting and crumbs from the cake remains on the plate.

"Would you like some more (drink)?" Isogai asked once again as he adds the plate on top of the other used ones on his tray.

You shake your head as you take out the needed amount of money to pay for your food and drink. You give it to Isogai who thanked you.

"I think I should get going soon..." You slowly stand up and adjust your bag before giving a wave at Isogai who looks at you in confusion.

"Karma hasn't arrived yet?" The class president asked as he also takes a look around the establishment to notice the absence of the said person.

You let a faint smile tug your lips, shaking your head while hiding the disappointment as you answer. "No... I think he's busy, but it's fine since this is the first time he's late. Thank you and goodbye. See you at school on Monday."

You wave a goodbye again and finally leave, sighing in distress after you exit the establishment.

You actually lied about this being Karma's first time forgetting about an event that's actually important to you and it was actually not the only thing that made you almost want to end their relationship since you felt like you are imprisoned but you don't know the reason why. It didn't help that you also noticed Karma's odd behavior and change of attitude, but you just thought to yourself that he's just trying to be a good boyfriend to you again. Your misery started during your birthday. Wait, a good boyfriend? Again? You shake your head as that thought disappears as soon as it came.

It was one of the worst days of your life for two reasons. First, your parents were arguing again about when your father will leave his current job and search for a new one with a better salary. Second, Karma forgot your birthday. You knew that it shouldn't be a big deal to you since your classmates still greeted you, but the problem is that Karma was avoiding you all throughout the day. Well, that's what you think in your perspective since every time you tried to go near him, he just walks in another direction without even sparing a glance at you.

What added to your heartache is when you saw Karma with Okuda. You didn't really hear what they were talking, but it was quite clear that they were talking about something important since they didn't notice you watching them near the entrance of the rundown building. The two figures were facing each other a few distance away from where you are and that's why you can only see them in sideview. All you saw was that Okuda passed a small, pastel pink paper bag to Karma who happily, that's what it seems to be since there was a small smile on his lips, accepts it.

What you didn't know is that there's a mysterious glint in his eyes that made Okuda flinch a bit, but tries to hide it with a small nervous smile and immediately said her goodbye and leaves, but for you, it seemed like Okuda was shy about what she gave and just wants to leave. A day after that, you were quite surprised when you saw a huge (animal) stuff toy sitting on her seat with some (color) (flower) on top of your wooden desk with a white envelope on beside the flowers. You look around the classroom, but noticed that you were the first one to arrive and that made you quite confused to where the things came from.

You get the stuffed toy and take a seat after you place it on your lap since the stuff toy is not that tall and you're still able to see what's happening in front. You move the flowers aside on your desk to have space for writing or reading. You hang your school bag besides your desk and takes a clear look of the envelope. It was sealed with a pink, heart shaped seal with your initials in a cursive writing written in it. You didn't want to destroy the beauty of the seal, but you wanted to know who gave the flowers and the stuffed toy that probably also the one who left the envelope. You open the seal and take the small note inside the envelope. A small smile forms on your lips as you start to read the contents of the small letter.

'Dear Y/N,

I'm sorry about yesterday. I hope you'll forgive me and to show you how sorry I am, I left some presents for you. I hope you'll like the flowers and the stuffed toy I left. If you're looking for me, I'm by the tree barely hanging from the cliff and no, I'm not going to fall off since I already fell for you.'

A small blush starts to spread across your cheeks as you place the letter back in the envelope and puts it inside your school bag. You stand up and place the stuff toy on your seat and start to go where Karma is probably waiting. Because of your excitement, you didn't notice that someone is already making a turn at the corner of the hallway until it was too late. You collide with Nagisa and the impact made the two to fall on the floor, but you were able to stop herself from hitting the floor or rather Nagisa's chest since Nagisa, unfortunately, fell with his back on the floor and you on top of him.

You immediately stand up while tripping a bit because of Nagisa's legs, but was able to stand properly afterwards. You offered a hand to Nagisa who seems to be in a daze, but you were confused on why he had a small blush on his cheeks.

Nagisa shakes his head and gives a close eyed smile at you and accept your hand as you pull him up. "I-I'm so sorry, Nagisa! I wasn't looking where I was going and---"

You were cut off from your rambling by the said classmate of yours. "It's fine, Y/N. Are you okay now?" Nagisa asked in concern since he was the first person that you went to after you noticed your boyfriend's odd behavior.

"Thank you again for the delicious (favorite food) that you've given to me yesterday. Karma left me some presents at my seat today as an apology and a birthday gift. I was supposed to meet him up today. Which reminds me, I gotta go. See you around, Nagisa!" You left after that and you didn't notice Nagisa's solemn expression.

'I'm so sorry, Y/N... It looks like he got you wrapped around his fingers already and I can't do anything about it. No one can....'

Karma looks at the forest below the cliff as he stands a few steps away from it as the wind is softly ruffling his hair and clothes while he grits his teeth in annoyance of what he saw yesterday. It was also his fault, but that boy didn't need to intervene with their relationship. 'He's probably feeding Y/N with lies and making me the bad guy in front of Y/N. Who does he think he is?! That little mouse...'

An evil grin starts to appear as an idea pops into his head. 'I'll just have to get rid of that guy if he does it again.'

"Karma! How long have you been waiting? I'm sorry if I took so long, Nagisa and I had a little chat." You sheepishly smile, gently rubbing your arms in nervousness of what he really as about to talk with you.

'That boy...' Karma has a scowl on his face, but it was replaced with a small smirk as he turns around to see you. Karma spreads his arms for a hug as you immediately give him one as Karma apologizes again and you, being the quite ignorant, that caused by something, and kind person you are, instantly forgave him.

"Please don't go too near with the other boys. If you do, I might not be able to control myself..." Karma softly whispered as he tightens his grip but not enough to hurt you as he doesn't want that, after all.

"What?" You look up at him, but Karma just shakes his head and kisses your forehead, distracting you away from what he had just said.

You close your eyes as a small smile is present on your face and you were relieved to know that everything is fine again. You snap out of your train of thoughts, or rather memories, when a flower suddenly appears in front of you, now noticing that you had stopped walking a few minutes after your daydreaming. You look at the person who was holding it and finally sees him.

"Karma... What's your excuse?" You cross your arms as you glare a bit at your lover who rubs his nape sheepishly while not looking at you.

"When I bought the flowers, I didn't notice the time and the traffic was pretty bad since there has been an accident. I'm sorry..." He explained and when you tell him to look at you, he did that gave you the chance to observe if he's lying.

You maintain eye contact with him for a few seconds, then sigh and ask if whether or not they'll continue with the date in which he answered that the two of you will. What he said was partially true, but there's an important detail that he didn't tell you since he doesn't want you to worry about it. He wants to be the one to secure that your relationship won't break because of any intervention from a certain bluenette.

He didn't want to get his hands dirty, especially since he still considered Nagisa as a friend and that's why he just gave a threat to him. A very grave threat that made Nagisa agree to not 'intervene' with your relationship with him any longer. The two of you went inside the café as Isogai greets and leads them to the table where you were occupying earlier. Karma looks around the café and was relieved when he noticed that there's only a few costumers and they're a few distance away from their table and it's also a blind spot from any security cameras. Just a good thing since he doesn't want any witnesses.

The two of you ordered your food and drinks as Isogai gets the orders. When your orders had arrived, you two start to dig in after you thanked Isogai for it. Isogai gives a close eyed smile at you as he also thanked the two of you for ordering. He suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine and he got a feeling that it came from your overprotective boyfriend, in which you already knew, but you forgot since you're currently trapped inside the cage of your so called 'love' for him, as Isogai immediately leaves afterwards to not cause a misunderstanding.

Nagisa has already informed all of your classmates to not get too close to you, since he knew about Karma's tendencies, and that's the reason why he's guilty about hiding the truth from you. He knew that you are the only one that's keeping Karma sane, that's why he knew that Karma won't hurt you in any way, but he's not quite sure of his limit that's why he and the others need to be careful around the violent and sadistic devil. You already finished your food, excusing yourself after telling Karma that you need to go to the bathroom.

Before you finished your food, something snapped in your mind as your head got a bit dizzy and you had a feeling that you need to go somewhere away from your so called lover. After washing your hands, you stared at your reflection for a few seconds as a realization flashes in your mind. You hadn't expected for him to use such a trick, but what you needed to do now is to break your ties with him for the final time.

'Giving him a second chance was a wrong move... How could I've been so stupid?!' You were finally freed from the illusion that Karma made.

Karma takes out a small vial containing a pinkish liquid as he remembered how he almost lose control of himself, but he was both thankful and frustrated at Nagisa's words. 'Control yourself and don't worry about the others trying to steal Y/N away from you since I've already told them to stay away... Y/N will learn to love you again one day, without using that potion.'

Karma looks around to see that the coast was clear and so, he poured all the liquid from the vial to your drink where there is still enough liquid remaining in it. When you came back to the table, Karma noticed your confused expression and immediately knew that the love potion is losing its effects. Just a few sips are enough since Karma ordered Okuda to strengthen the effects of the love potion that even in small doses is enough to last for a few weeks.

'I knew that... I'm just scared. I just hope that Y/N will love me again.' Karma softly smiles at you and asks if you're okay in which you answered a yes.

You decided to take a sip of your drink to help you calm down and prepare yourself as you noticed the slight change of the taste, but you just ignored it since you had an important matter to discuss with your soon to be ex boyfriend. "Karma-kun, I---"

You sternly look at him, but then your eyes widen as you try to speak the words to end this nightmare, but it was useless, the potion already taken its effect and Karma was impressed by it.

"Yes, love?" Karma stands up and takes a seat by your right after he noticed you getting dizzy.

He slings an arm around your shoulder and places your head on his shoulder. 'Please! Someone help me!'

You softly smile as you intertwine your left hand with his right. "I... love you, Karma." You whispered as Karma smirks and hides it by kissing your forehead.

You forgot what you were supposed to do, not knowing that you had been imprisoned and blinded by the 'love' you had for him.

It seems like it was a mistake to forgive and give in to his love again. Who would've thought that you accidentally fell in love with a devil, too deep to get out of the hole that you should've stopped digging further by not giving him another chance to rebuild the relationship. Now, not even someone as kind and courageous as an angel can help you from getting out of the dangerous situation you had unintentionally put yourself in. If only you were not blinded by your pity and love that remained, everything should have been much better than what it is now.
