"For centuries, the troll and human worlds stood seperate and at peace, divided by Bridges that acted as door ways between our two realms. But the Gumm-Gumms wanted to devour all of mankind. They were lead by Gunmar The Black. The rest of troll kind fought against him, culminating in the great Battle of Killahead Bridge, the portal to Gunmar's Darklands. After many moons, good triumphed over evil, and our great Trollhunter, Deya the Deliverer, locked Gunmar away, exiling him to the Darklands, and sealed the Killahead Bridge with the sacred amulet. After, we tore it apart, stone by stone. We left the old world in search for peace. We stowed away on a ship called the Mayflower, just a handful of us and some gnomes we'd brought along for companionship and nourishment. Finally, we arrived in a strange and exotic realm." Said Blinky.

"New Jersey." Said Aaarrrgghh.

"We kept walking. Eventually we came across a new heartstone, and we realized we had found a new home... Under Arcadia." Finished Blinky.

Blinky had been reading to us the history of trolls. You sat beside Aaarrrgghh leaning on his arm, with Toby sitting next to you. All three of you had been listening intently, enamoured with the story. You loved learning about troll history, but it seemed Jim did not as he was fast asleep of Aaarrrgghh's other arm. Blinky looked up at us from his book and noticed Jim's state and groaned. We all looked at Jim and Blinky went over to him annoyed, worried for the wrath he was about to face. Blinky snapped the book shut loudly infront of his face, making him wake up in a panic.

"!Lo siento, Señor Draal! !No me mates!" Said Jim fearfully in a panic.

You had no idea what he said as you weren't good in Spanish, and it may have been rude, but you couldn't help but giggle at his funny reaction.

"The training of troll history might seem like a minor duty, master Jim, but-" said Blinky.

"Sorry, I pulled an all-nighter studying for my Spanish Comprehension exam and my brain is muy gooey. I don't know. I guess I thought if I'm facing Draal in a week, my training would be a little more... Active." Said Jim.

Jim got up and yawned. You got up as well thinking how you'd prefer a study session over fighting any day. You stretched and yawned, and your team was almost immediately followed by Aaarrrgghh's behind you who had also stood up. You didn't think anything of it, other than a crossing thought about a saying people say about yawning. Yawning is contagious amoung friends or family or something. Toby punched the air while talking before leaning on Jim.

"Yeah,like, when is he going to learn Troll-kwondo? Or Rock-itsu?" Asked Toby excitedly.

"Before one fights, Toby D., One must understand why one fights. For these presious early steps will decide whether a young Trollhunter will become a Deya the Deliverer..." Said Blinky proudly pointing to Deya's statue.

"Or Unkar the unfortunate." Said Aaarrrgghh.

"Yeah definitely don't want to be an Unkar." You said shuddering.

Toby and Jim just looked at you and then Blinky with raised eyebrows.

"Well tomorrow, my Spanish exam is with Señor Uhl the Unforgiving. My main concern is for my immediate future." Said Jim determined.

"A-ha! But, to learn what will happen in the future,one must only look to the past." Said Blinky dropping the book into Jim's hands.

Jim almost fell over due to the book wait making you and Toby look at it with wide eyes.

"I recommend A Brief Recapitulation of Troll Lore by the venerable Bedehilde. Volume one of 47." Said Blinky.

That's alot of reading...

Jim fixed his books, and stepped back.

"Okay but if I don't pass this exam I'm grounded, and I can't be the Trollhunter. Sorry, Blinky, but the amulet chose me, and now I have two lives to keep up." Jim said still walking backwards. 

You all have him a concerned look. Suddenly a female troll ran up to Blinky out if breath.

"Oh, no. Is it the heartstone?" Asked Blinky worried.

"No, no!" She said.

"Stalkling?" Asked Aaarrrgghh.

What the heck is a Stalkling?

"Is Bular here?" You asked worried.

"No! Gnome! Rogue gnome!" She shouted loud enough for her voice to echo throughout the forge.

Gnome? Those little things with the sharp teeth?Oh no...

The troll lead you all back to her shop.

"First, I couldn't find my monocle, then my collection of bed coils. Now something disappears every minute!" She exclaimed exasperated.

This lady sure collects alot of weird stuff...

Suddenly something small whizzed past us and knocked her over. You were shocked but also concerned for the lady. The little blur continued running around and laughing.

"Ah yes, a gnome." Said Blinky.

The lady was rubbing her head, still on the ground. You held out your hand to her with a smile to help her up, but she just slapped it away. You retracted your hand and held it to your chest. Noticing your hurt look, Aaarrrgghh patted your head. You looked at him and gave him a grateful smile. Your attention turned back to the lady as she helped herself up.

"Dirty little pests. Up to last week, the glue traps were working fine." She said.

She held up a glue traps with the skeleton of a dead gnome stuck to it. The others didn't seemed fazed but you gasped in horror and covered your mouth.

poor thing...

you couldn't look, but right when you were about to turn away, the gnome zoomed past and took it from her hand. She gasped and turned to jim.

"Fix it troll Hunter!" She pleaded.

"Um, yeah, I'm really sorry about that. See, you need a gnome-catcher, and I'm, well, the Trollhunter, so-" said Jim akwardly.

"Oh, no, Master Jim. The Trollhunter cannot refuse the call. And what better a call for you to train with than a pint-sized quarry?" Said Blinky.

You all turned to look at the shelf as you heard guitar playing. It was the gnome and he did a little singing.

"Aww..." You cooed.

You couldn't help it, is was so cute!

"He's trying to distract us! Hold tight to your valuables." Said Blinky.

You and Toby wakes closer to the the gnome.

"Why? He can't be that bad." Said Toby clapping to the beat of the music.

"Yeah, he's so adorable. Totally different from the ones that tried to attack me." You said still cooing.

Aaarrrgghh huffed a bit in annoyence, rolling his eyes. Suddenly the the gnome ran and swiftly stole Toby's belt. You both gasped in shock.

"Oh no! My belt! At least he didn't take my Nougat Nummy. You still have it right, (y/n)?" Toby asked.

"Yup right here." You said holding it up for him to see.

Then with a flash the gnome took it from your hand.

"Oops..." You said sheepishly.

"We need to catch that gnome." Toby said angerly.

The gnome ran around the shop laughing at you.

"It's over there!" Said Jim.

"No there!" Said Toby.

"It's under there!" You said.

"No it's over here." Said Blinky.

"Right here." Said Aaarrrgghh pointing up.

The gnome was on his head resting on his horns, and waved and you. You gave a little wave back confused. It then ran off again. Jim tried to catch it but failed and fell on the floor. Blinky tried to catch it when it was on the basket, to it escaped through a hole in the basket. It jumped on the female trolls face and knocked down some of her stuff.

"Oh my beautiful saw. Get him!" She demanded.

Jim Toby and Blinky chased it, and Jim caught it on the ground, with the other two dog piling him. It struggled and managed to escape. It ran around you in circles, and you tried to catch it, but you got dizzy going in circles. You fell over due to the dizziness right into Aaarrrgghh who caught you. Aaarrrgghh lifted one foot as the gnome ran under him. Jim tried to catch it but crashed to the ground under Aaarrrgghh's foot. He groaned and looked at Aaarrrgghh.

"Pacifist." Said Aaarrrgghh shrugging while still supporting you as you were still to dizzy to stand on your own.

The gnome than ran past Jim.

"Where's the amulet?" Said Jim panicked.

You all looked over to the gnome, who now held the amulet.

"Oh no!" Said Blinky.

The gnome then ran behind a wardrobe. Jim ran up to it to try to move it. You got off Aaarrrgghh, standing up, and thanked him. Aaarrrgghh when over a pushed the wardrobe aside easily with one finger. Man trolls sure are strong...

Behind the wardrobe was a hole in the wall, where the gnome disappeared.

"Yes, it appears the plot quite literally deepens." Said Blinky.

Jim put his arms in the hole.

"Come back, come back. Shouldn't the amulet be coming back to me right about now?" Asked Jim.

"Dolefully, that rule only applies if you've regected it. When thieves, it's another story. If you had read A Brief Recapitulation , you would have known that." Explained Blinky.

Studying of course.

"Some Trollhunter you are. Jim the baby-handed." Said the female troll.

"To be fair he's new at this." You defended Jim shyly.

The troll rolled her eyes ignoring you, and took the basket of food Toby was eating away from him.

"Master Jim, press on. This is not the moniker you want." Said Blinky.

"What else can I do? I can't fit in that hole." Said Jim defeated.

"Hmm, currently." Said Blinky thinking.

"Bad idea."warned Aaarrrgghh.

"What's a bad idea?" You asked nervously, but were interrupted by Blinky.

"No troll Hunter has ever lost his amulet. We'll need time to procure the Furgolator." Said Blinky determined.

"Uh, the Furgolator?" Asked Jim.

"Uh, don't worry about anything, Master Jim. Tend to your studies. We'll watch over the hole. Tomorrow you'll return refreshed to deal with this, uh... Hehha little problem." Said Blinky.

You still had a bad feeling about this...

The next day the three of you sat in Spanish class, as your teacher wrote on the board. Today everyone had to take the exam. You were really nervous, but with lots of encouragement from Toby and Jim, you managed to pull of your exam. You didn't do the best but you did ok. Señor Uhl said you got a B-. At least you passed... Right now Mary was doing her presentation. 

"Little did anyone know, Maria was juggling two hombres. Manolo was muchos musculos. And poor Maria had a pedoso heart." Said Mary.

The teachers chalk broke, and he turned to face Mary.

"What kind of heart did Maria have, Miss Wang?" He asked.

"Uh, a heavy heart. Pe-do-so. Or is it-" she said nervously.

"I would hope Maria wouldn't have a pedoso heart, because that would mean gassy. Did Maria have a gassy heart, Miss Wang?" He asked sternly.

"Of course not, Señor Uhl!" Mary Sid upset.

You concerned for her.

"Uh-buh-bum! You were trying to say Pesado. a heavy heart. And it is a heavy heart Miss Wang, to have to tell you that you have not shown the slightest comprehension of the basic Spanish. If you can't even finish the exam, I have no choice but to fail you." He said sternly holding a tissue box.

Mary grabbed a tissue and ran out of the class crying. You ft really bad seeing her so upset. Before you could do anything, the bell rang.

"Mr.Lake, I look forward to your presentation tomorrow." Said Señor Uhl, as we headed for the door.

"Yeah. I'm...ready." said Jim nervously.

You parted ways with Jim and Toby, and went looking for Mary. You found her hiding under a staircase still whimpering upset. You knelt down next to her.

"Hey Mary..." You said softly.

"O-oh hey (y/n)..." She said sniffling.

"Here."you said as you pulled out a spare tissue from York pocket and handed it to her.

"Thanks."she said as she took it from you and blew her nose.

"But why are you here?" She asked calming down a bit.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay. I know Señor Uhl can be harsh sometimes. Look I'm not that good a Spanish my self, but if you ever need a study buddy..." You started.

Mary smiled and whipped her eyes.

"Thanks (y/n), but I'll be okay, really. Besides one of my besties is awesome at Spanish so I'll get her to tutur me!" She said smiling brightly.

You smiled back.

"Well okay then. That's good. I'm glad your feeling better." You said sincerely.

"Thanks again (y/n)! I'm actually surprised you came to talk to me because you always seem so shy, but it was really nice of you. Anyway I got to go! I'll see you later. Bye!" She said with a big wave before running off.

You waved back with a smile. You were glad that she was better now. With that matter settled you went looking for Toby and Jim. You saw Toby, but as you were about to say hi, you stopped when you saw him watching Him head over to Claire. You decided to stay quiet and just watch the scene unfold.

"Hey Claire! Hey! You know, I got this Spanish exam coming up. Muy importante. Hehe... And I was... I was looking for someone to help me out-" he said nervously.

"And I was looking for my scene partner at last night's rehearsal." Said Claire closing her locker and walking away.

Jim followed her.

"Oh, the play! I wasn't-" he said.

"I don't know what you've got going on, but this play is pretty important to me. My family's coming, and if you make me look like an idiot up there-" she said.

"Claire, I'm sorry. I promise I won't-" said Jim.

"Just be there tomorrow. And, by the way, I know Steve is a jerk, but there are better ways to finish a fight than punching someone in the face." Said Claire before walking off.

You and Toby went up to Jim as he sighed. 

"Hey it'll be okay..." You try to say reassuringly.

Jim just shook his head and walked off. Toby Followed him, and you followed shortly behind. You don't want to say it, but you get where Claire is coming from. You really hope they can work it out.

You all made you way to trollmarket, in silence and occasional chitchat between the boys. When you got to trollmarket Blinky and Aaarrrgghh lead you to a room, which Heald an object covered by a cloth.

"Remember when I told you all Trollhunters must start out small?" Said Blinky taking off the cloth revealing a golden machine that looked like a giant troll face.

"Full disclosure, I'm a little worried how I let you talk me into this." Said Jim.

Blinky turned on the device. It rattled and steam came out if the pipes, before it open up. You looked worriedly at the machine.

"Still a bad idea." Said Aaarrrgghh coming to stand beside you.

Jim entered the machine.

"So how dose me going into this thing help me get a gnome out of a hole?" Jim asked as the machine closed on him.

"If a gnome won't come out, the Trollhunter must go in." Said Blinky.

"Wait what?" Said Jim.

"Umm This won't hurt him will it?" You asked concerned.

"Hehe. Don't worry. We often use the Furgolator to compress minerals. And now for the anthracite!" Said Blinky taking away the rock Toby was sniffing with a pair of tongs.

"Hey!" Said Toby when Blinky pried the rock from his hands.

"But you've done this a few time on flesh and bone right? Right?"asked Jim and Blinky out the rock in the machine.

"Not exactly. But I'm not concerned." Said Blinky without a care.

The machine started to shake and everyone but Blinky looked at Jim with concern.

"That's because you are not the one trapped in this thing."said Jim.

"Nothing to worry about master Jim. We work best under pressure." Said Blinky.

"I can't see anything!" Said Jim as the inside of the machine filled up with steam.

"Why is there so much smoke?"said Jim coughing.

The machine started shaking violently.

"Oh no Jim!" You said worriedly.

"Come on, you guys gotta get him out of there!" Shouted Toby.

Both of you ran to the machine and tried to get it open. Blinky joined you guys.

"Don't just stand there Aaarrrgghh!" Scoulded Blinky.

"Please you have to help him!" You pleaded to Aaarrrgghh.

The three of you got out of the way as Aaarrrgghh ran over and forced the doors of the machine open. You a stood back as tons of steam flooded out of the machine obscuring your view of Jim. 

"Looks like it didn't work. Hope you have. Plan B." Said Jim coughing as he stepped out if the machine, before shrieking at how big all of us were.

There before you was a tiny Jim.

"On the contrary."said Blinky.

"He's like an action figure." Said Toby.

"So tiny..." You said amazed.

"The Furgolator functioned perfectly!" Said Blinky laughing as he picked up the tiny Jim.

Jim was brought back to the shop and placed in the entrance of the hole, and was given a pin as a shield.

Jim turned and looked at us.

"Real subtle. ' We've got to start small. Deal with the little problem.' "

"It's not that bad..." You said with a nervous chuckle.

" This is a huge problem! I can't be shrunk! I have exams to take! I have sinks to reach!" Said Jim angerly.

"You have a gnome to catch. Now, onward, Master Jim, and fetch your destiny!" Said Blinky.

Toby grabbed a pencil and presented it to Tiny Jim.

"Your sword, my liege." Said Toby jokingly.

Jim took it and poked Toby's finger, making him Yelp. He then tried to enter the hole but felt backwards. He got up and entered the hold properly this time.

"Oh, one last thing to know when dealing with a gnome, Master Jim, and this is of dire importance: Do not touch it's hat." Said Blinky.

"Oh course. It's right there in A Brief Recapitulation." Said Jim sarcastically.

You all tried to see him threw the hole but he was too far I to make out.

"You remember!"said Blinky happily.

"Of course not! Nothing in this world makes sense!" Yelled Jim fustrated.

It was silent until the sounds of fighting started.

"I hope he's okay in there..." You said worried.

"It dose not sound favourable." Said Blinky.

After a while everything went silent.

"Why hasn't he come out?"asked Toby.

Aaarrrgghh was about to say something, but Blinky covered his mouth so only mumbled words came out. You all stared at the hole intently, and then you heard the chattering of the gnome  you were all shocked when the gnome appeared at the entrance without his hat, but we're relieved when Jim appeared behind it wearing it's had and holding it hostage at sword point.

"You summoned the armor and caught the gnome! Well played master Jim!" Said Blinky proudly.

You all clapped in congratulations, and Jim too serval bows.

"Thank you, thank you. I don't want to forget the little people." Said Jim.

He and the gnome jumped down from the he to the floor.

"Expedient and good humored."said Blinky.

"Good job Jim!" You cheered.

"Oh my hero!" Said the female troll.

Jim threw the gnome back his hat, and Toby used the distraction to catch it in a bag.

"And what about the shrinking stuff? When dose it wear off?" Asked Jim.

"Don't worry. Sleep it off. By morning, you'll be good as new. And how you have earned it! Jim the Gnome Slayer!" Said Blinky.

Toby then began singing a song, while playing the gnomes guitar, making you giggle happily.

"He was so young. There was so much music left in him." Sang Toby.

"Now all that is left is for you to take care of it." Said
