Hello lovely humans! Chapter 2 hath cometh! Enjoy......😏

"Kara, if you haven't finished those floral arrangements by now I swear to God—" Alex stopped in the doorway of her sister's apartment and gasped. She was lying on the floor unconscious, still in her clothes and glasses from yesterday. "Oh my god! Kara!"

Alex rushed to her sister's side and felt her pulse, sighing with relief when she felt it beating steadily against her fingers. She whipped out her phone and called the first person she thought of. "J'onn, there's something wrong with Kara. Meet me at her apartment now."

***

"What happened to her?" Nia asked when she arrived at the Tower to see her friend unconscious on a bed.

"We don't know," Alex said helplessly. "I went to Kara's apartment to check on her and found her lying there, unresponsive." She stared at her sister's sleeping face, brow creased with worry. They had just defeated Lex and Nyxly. Would the chaos never end?

"That's strange,"  Lena muttered, staring at a tablet in her hand.

"What is?" Alex walked over to her.

"Judging by these readings, her brain activity is completely normal. It's like her body is unaware anything is wrong." Alex flashed back to when Kara was attacked by the Black Mercy. She had been so heartbroken, so angry when she'd woken up. At least there was no creepy alien plant clinging to her sister's torso this time.

Suddenly an alarm sounded from upstairs, startling all of them. "Now what?" Nia asked, exasperated.

"J'onn and I will go see if everything's okay," Alex said, gesturing for the Martian to follow her towards the elevator. "You guys keep monitoring Kara."

When the doors opened, they were greeted by a familiar face. "Winn!" Alex said, hurrying over to hug her friend. "What are you doing here? The wedding's in three weeks!"

"No, I know," Winn said, fiddling with the hem of his Legionnaire uniform. "Something's happened to Mon-El."

"What do you mean?" J'onn asked, immediately on high alert.

"He didn't show up for work today, and when I went to his apartment to check on him, he was unconscious on the floor."

"The same exact thing happened to Kara," Alex said in surprise. "How did you know?"

"I'll explain in a second," Winn said, his expression unreadable. "Can you bring her to the Legion ship? It might help to compare their conditions."

***

"Now will you tell us what's going on?" Alex asked, staring at her sister and Mon-El lying side by side in the ship's med bay.

"When I found him, this was on the counter," Winn said, handing Alex a piece of paper. "It's the reason I brought him here. I was hoping you'd know what it meant." The note in Alex's hand read:

I'd love to stay and chat, but I've got some unfinished business with the Girl of Steel. Toodles!

—M.M.

"M.M.?" J'onn asked, reading over Alex's shoulder. "Who is that?" She frowned in concentration, trying to remember the names of past villains.

Then it hit her. Kara and Mon-El, comatose but unharmed, and found alone in their homes. A mysterious attacker with the initials MM.

    "It's Music Meister," Alex realized.

"Bravo!" said a voice from across the room. "I knew you'd get there." he was leaning against the wall, clapping sarcastically.

"You again!" Alex said indignantly. "What do you want with my sister?"

"Now, now, no need to get testy," he said, crossing the room. "I only have their best interests at heart."

Alex wasn't so sure. Kara had been pretty cryptic about what actually happened on Earth-1. All she said was that he whammied her and Barry so Mon-El and Iris would save them and get back together. It was hard to believe that an interdimensional being would care so much about her sister's love life. Then again, the last one had tried to make her marry him.

"And what might those interests be?" J'onn asked, gesturing for Alex to calm down.

"You see, years ago I helped them understand that love is too precious to let go of. Barry and Iris listened to my advice and got their happy ending. But these two..." Music Meister shook his head in apparent disappointment and clucked his tongue. "They're too noble for their own good and chose duty over love. I'm here to make sure my message.....sticks."

"So how do we get them out of there?" Winn asked, tired of his antics.

"You can't," said Music Meister, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "They're the only ones in control of what happens to them now."

***

Through a haze of dreams, Kara heard her sister's voice faintly, calling out her name. It grew louder and louder. But she realized it was no longer her name Alex was calling. Was she saying....?

"Juliet! Juliet! JULIET!!!!" Kara snapped awake. She was standing in an old-fashioned bedroom she had never seen before, wearing a red dress with a billowing skirt and a square neckline. It looked like something out of the 15th century. "What the hell?" she muttered.

Before Kara could further explore her surroundings, Alex came rushing in. Was that a maid's uniform she was wearing?

"Juliet!" she said, breathing heavily. "Thither thou art! Thy mother's calling."

Kara stared in confusion. What she meant to say was: "Why are you talking like that? And what are you wearing?" What she said instead was: "Wherefore art thee talking like yond? And what art thee wearing?" Shakespearean English? Really? She made a mental note to murder Music Meister.

Her sister frowned. "I knoweth not what thou art talking about. Cometh on!" Before Kara could protest, Alex had grabbed her arm and was dragging her out of the room. They arrived in a large, expensive-looking room with a crystal chandelier and silk tapestries adorning the walls.  And standing in the middle was...

"Mother," Kara breathed.

She spun around. "Juliet! At last! I has't wonderful news!"

"What news?" Kara asked suspiciously. This was getting weirder and weirder. Clearly, Music Meister had trapped her again, but why? Was there someone else in here too? If there was, she'd find out soon.

"Thou wilt marry anon!" her mom said enthusiastically. Kara just stared at her in shock, her brain unable to form words.

"Uh...to whom?" she stuttered.

"The valiant Paris seeks you for his love!" Paris? Like the city? A memory rose to the surface of standing with Mon-El in front of a potential villain, his arm around her. We're uh, we're trying to save up for a trip to Paris city. She thought of his goofy smile and shook the memory away. This was not the time.

Kara strained her brain, trying to remember who Paris was. She hadn't read the book in a while.

"Tell me, daughter Juliet," her mother began. "How stands your disposition to be married?" Think, Kara, think. What did Juliet say? Suddenly, the line came to her.

"It is an honor I dream not of?" she said, desperately hoping that was the right answer.

"Verona's summer hath not such a flower," Alura said happily.

"Nay, he's a flower; in faith, a very flower," said Alex—not Alex. Whatever. Kara watched the exchange, wondering what on Earth they were talking about. The gunshot wound of her last Music Meister experience was starting to look attractive.

Pulling herself out of her thoughts, she noticed that her mom and Alex were looking at her expectantly.

"Pardon, what didst thee sayeth?" Yep, Kara was never going to get used to talking like this.

"Speak briefly, can you like of Paris' love?" Alura asked again. Kara gulped. What was she supposed to say? On one hand, Music Meister had said last time to follow the script, and on the other hand, she didn't want to marry some random dude and was pretty sure Juliet didn't end up going through with it.

"Haply?" Kara said uncertainly. 'Maybe' wasn't much of an answer, but thankfully a servant entered the room at that moment.

"Madam, the guests are come, supper served up, you called, my young lady asked for, the nurse cursed in the pantry, and everything in extremity. I must hence to wait; I beseech you, follow straight."

"We follow thee," said Alura, and the servant left. "Juliet, the County stays." What county? Before Kara could ask what she was talking about (and get cryptic Shakespearean English in response), her mother left the room.

Before following her, the maid who looked like Alex leaned close. "Go, girl, seek happy days to happy nights."

Kara was left with an empty room and a dumbfounded expression. The last time she'd been stuck in a musical, she and Barry had been side characters, merely assisting the main ones. But now she was Juliet freaking Capulet! She could only wonder who Romeo was...

Hmm, I wonder. Also, very sorry for the bad Shakespearean English, all I could find was this crappy mostly inaccurate online translator. And yes, a lot of those lines I may or may not have stolen from the book. If you run into Shakespeare's ghost, please ask him not to sue me. Thanks! Oh, and give me a vote if you like this chapter and let me know what you think in the comments. Byeeeeee
