The more Luz focused on the room the less and less it started to feel haunted. She, Amity and Camila all stood in the door way observing the room from wall to wall. There really wasn't much inside other then an old broken bedframe, a shattered mirror from years back, and a few small bones from some rodent. Sure it looked creepy but not really haunted.

Luz noticed a pebble on the floor and kicked it. This wasn't how she envisioned the trip going at all. Camila walked around the room unsure if what to say herself. Honestly she expected flying objects or shadowy figures. Still she prefers this.

"Well mija," Camila said turning to look everything over. "This is kind of... spooky."

"Not even a little mama." Luz said a little frustrated.

"Hey, we only just started," Amity said. "Besides was all this just to find a silly ghost or to spend time with everyone."

Luz glanced over her shoulder to see her mom. Camila was looking the room over still for anything of interest and became disturbed by more rodent bones that she swept away with her foot. A smile crossed the young girls face remember what this whole trip was about. Whether there were ghost or not didn't mater only that they got time to spend together. Even if it was in a slightly creepy old house.

"You're right how could I forget that," Luz said kissing Amity's cheek. "Thanks Hermosa."

"Why don't we start using the devices given to us before we jump to conclusions." Amity giggled while Luz planted another kiss against her cheek.

"As cute as this may be," A static voice called out. "How about you guys start looking for some ghosts."

Luz grabbed the walkie-talkie from the bag. It was Carlos who was talking to them on the other end. She looked towards the one camera in the corner and stuck our her tongue.

"Very mature nutria," Carlos responded through the walkie-talkie. "Gaven says try the spirit box first. I'll check back soon kid."

"Alright, talk to you later." Luz replied.

"So Gaven said this will help us talk to ghosts?" Camila asked holding the spirit box.

"Yeah which is really cool," Luz said. "I usually just tried a Ouija board."

"Mija I worry about you." Camila said holding her head.

"It was completely safe mama," Luz said without any worry like usually. "You just need to be sure to close the conversation...also nothing contacted me."

"Well let's see if anything will today." Amity said taking the spirit box from Camila. Turning it on Amity tried to speak with the dead. "Are there any spirits here?"

The only thing they could hear was the static from the machine. After another minute with no response Luz took over. This time she asked using one of the deseased's family members names. Again no response and she continued through each name but still there was no response. Not even something that could be mistaken as a sound just endless static.

"Well that didn't work." Luz sighed.

"I don't recall the Luz I know giving up so easily." Amity smirked.

"Who said I was giving up?" Luz shot back. "Luz Noceda is no quiter!"

Luz began to rummage through their ghost hunting bag for something else to use. Amity just watched in amusement as her girlfriend began to show more enjoyment. As Camila came over to the young witch Amity felt her heart beat quicken. Even though Camila had been nothing but welcoming Amity couldn't help but be nervous around the mother. She was nothing like Amity's own mother, thank the titian. Amity wanted to be sure that Camila had no negative thoughts about her.

"You certainly have a way with my little girl." Camila chuckled. "It's very easy for you to flip her mood."

"Luz always has a little light of joy in her you just need to remind her sometimes." Amity smiled causing Camila to do the same.

"My Luz is so lucky to have a girlfriend like you." Camila said proudly.

"I think I'm the one who's lucky to have her." Amity said. "She's so bright, kind, and cool. I honestly wonder sometimes what she ever saw in me."

"Well I see a young dependable girl who makes my daughter smile in ways I started to think weren't possible anymore." Camila said placing a hand on Amity's shoulder. "Thank you for that Amity."

Amity could feel tears forming behind her eyes, but refused to release them. Hearing those kind words from Luz's mother was something Amity couldn't help but want. Maybe it was because it was a sign of approval with dating Luz, or perhaps it was because Amity's own parents only ever cared about results. Luz was so lucky to having a caring mother who only ever wanted the best for her.

The young witch felt a twinge of envy wash over her. What she wouldn't give to have parents that only ever cared about their child's well-being. For Amity her parents only ever cared about three things and that was their image, company, or their work. It hurt more then Amity wanted to admit. Her mother was the worst of it, but that didn't mean her father was much better. Even the twins use to be bad, but they at least actually seem to care. Amity was glad she was able to have a good relationship with them though.

"Okay ghosts," Luz said. "Show us you're here. Write something in this book please!"

Just like the Spirit Box nothing was happening. The pencil never moved and nothing appeared in the book. Luz stared the book down with anticipation waiting for anything to happen. Amity found it adorable the way her girlfriend acted but they didn't have time to wait around. Instead she grabbed the EMF reader from the bag. Gaven said when turning it on the lights on it would light up when they read the electronic field emitted by spirits.

When turned on the meter didn't show any activity. Waving it around Amity moved about the room. Nothing was causing the machine to go off. After a while Amity started to think that this adventure would only get interesting when everyone got bored and would instead decide to have a sleepover in a creepy house rather then hunt ghosts. Then all of a sudden the EMF reader went from level one all the way to five.

Suddenly Amity felt her heart in her throat as shock filled her body. Luz now losing interest in the blank book on the ground joined her girlfriend. Camila hovered by as well already planning how to get her babies out of the house if whatever was setting the EMF off happened to be dangerous. What ever was setting off the EMF reader was coming from outside the room. They each looked at one another and nodded. Together as a group they began to follow the signal.

After walking and pointing the EMF in every direction the signal seemed to lead to the attic. Luz squeezed Amity's arm and actually felt afraid to go up. Normally she'd be all for an adventure, but now that she was here in the moment of an actual ghost in the human realm she didn't want to go. What if someone got hurt because of this silly trip. Though it seemed a bit late to be regretting things now.

"What, you scared?" Amity playfully teased.

"N-no," Luz lied.

"You were all disappointed earlier," Amity giggled. "Now that something is actually happening you're changing your tune."

"As cute as you two are can we focus?" Camila sighed at the girls. "Weren't Edric and Emira in the attic with Lilith?"

"I-I'm sure they're fine," Amity said probably trying to convince herself. "If anything this sudden activity might be one of their pranks."

"I'm sure you're right, they're completely fine," Luz said gentle rubbing her girlfriend's hand.

Luz took a deep breath and reached for the latch to the attic door that hung on the ceiling. Before her hand could grab anything the attic door swung down and Luz jumped back as a ladder slid out allowing access to the attic. No light came from the room above making it even more off putting. The young human thought of using a light glyph but remembered that she wasn't in the Boiling Isles so had to us her phone's flashlight instead.

Placing her foot on the bottom step of the ladder Luz tested to see if it would hold her weight. It gave a low groan under the pressure but seemed sturdy enough to support her. Stealing her nerves Luz slowly made her way up into the attic. Pitch darkness was all the young han could see. Using the flashlight Luz could see boxes covered in dust and cobwebs. Then a figure stood just out of the corner of her eyes.

Fear began to creep through the girl's body. Flicking the flashlight to the direction of the figure Luz sighed as it was just an old bust used to hang up a dress. Turning the light to the ground Luz saw foot prints in the dust belonging to at least three people. The twins and Lilith must be up here somewhere. Looking back down at Amity and her Mother the human relayed her findings.

"Looks like they came up here," Luz said. "I'll try to find them."

"Not by yourself you aren't." Amity said crawling up the ladder.

"Always happy to have you tag along mi amor." Luz smiled.

After Amity was safely in the attic Camila attempted to follow. Once she began to put weight on the first step however the ladder gave a groan much louder then when the two teens scaled it. The human mother frowned and decided it was best not to follow. It wouldn't be good if the ladder ended up breaking. Especially if they needed to get down fast.

"I don't think the ladder is gonna hold my wieght mija," Camila called to her daughter. "I'll wait here for you to come back. Keep in touch with Carlos."

"Okay mama," Luz responded. "I bet there's nothing to worry about anyway. We'll be back before you know it."

Luz, with Amity's hand in hers, began to follow the foot prints in the layers of dust. Both girls moved slowly while holding on to each other as tight as they could. As Luz couldn't use magic only Amity could protect them from whatever might be up here. Only, if Ed, Em, and Lilith were hurt then this might be more then they could handle themselves. Suddenly Luz radio began to make noise.

"Luz," Carlos called through the walkie-talkie. "Why are you and Amity in the attic?"

"Our EMF reader led us this way." Luz whispered back. "We're is Ed, Em, and Lilith?"

"No idea," Carlos replied. "They aren't on any of the cameras set up in the attic."

"Did you try calling their radio?" Luz asked.

"Give me a second," Carlos said as Luz's walkie-talkie went silent.

Suddenly Carlos' voice could be heard further inside the attic. Both girl gave each other a worried glance before looking for the source of Carlos' voice. Amity could then see the walkie-talkie belonging to the twin's group. It was under some clutter but looked undamaged. The young witch picked up the machine and let Carlos know that the radio was no longer in possession of it's original group.

"So no sign of them?" Carlos asked in a static voice.

"Other then foot prints in the dust? No." Luz responded.

"If this is another of their stupid pranks I'll kill them." Amity growled.

"You and me both." Carlos replied back. "Go back downstairs and we'll figure something out-"

Carlos' voice began to break up and Luz couldn't make out what he was saying. Soon after nothing came through but static. Then a few words came through that caused both Luz's and Amity's skin to crawl. It sounded like the voice of a young boy. The voice said only one thing...run.

Behind them something in the pockets of darkness began to shift. Both teens could feel the presence of something at their backs. They slowly began to turn as a long white hand covered in blood pierced through the shadows. A low inhuman moan followed. Luz felt her body fill with adrenaline and was getting ready to escape but Amity didn't move as she was focused on the bloody hand.

Surely that blood didn't belong to one of the twins, right? Luz quickly pulled on her girlfriend's hand bringing her back to reality. Now Amity felt the sudden fear of the situation they were in. Without a second thought Amity used her magic to send an abomination hand at the coming figure. To the shock of both girls the abomination arm exploded before reaching it's target. Once again Amity stood in shock.

"No time to space out Hermosa!" Luz said dragging her girlfriend away.

They squeezed their way back through the cluttered path towards the latter. The sounds of moaning and bone cracking on their tail grew louder. Everything felt like it was in slow motion to Luz. Right now they were being chased by something straight out of the conjuring, and for whatever reason magic didn't work on it. Luz felt sick as the thought of what happened to Ed, Em, and Lilith creeped into her mind. No, she refused to think that they were dead.

Bright light appeared ahead of the girls coming from the opening in the floor that lead back to the rest of the house. They both quickly made their way down the ladder. Camila stood there confused while Luz pulled on her arm. Without looking back they moved to the living room unaware they were no longer being followed. Edric and Emira smiled at their handy work.

"Told you it would scare them," Edric laughed.

"I still think the blood was a bit much." Emira said.

"To late to complain now sis," Edric said. "Let's go see what they're gonna do now."

The blight twins followed after their Victims with no idea that they too were being watch. From in the shadows something stirred growing impatient. Then it vanished without a trace and continued to watch and wait.
