LILY: "What would you like to discuss, Professor?" Remus asked after a few moments of silence. She drummed her fingers on the table, and scanned him up and down.

"I'm assuming you four have questions about this time era. I'm here to answer them...the ones I am able to answer, that is. I can not tell you four how your lives are. Do not ask." James seemed uneasy, like Remus looked around full moons.

"Professor," James spoke.

"Mr. Potter..." McGonagall interrupted. "I have a feeling I know what you're going to ask, and I suggest you do not ask it. He's a fine boy. No need to meddle into the matter." She seemed pained. Like each word she spoke to James was the equivalent to a thousand bullets.

"Okay...thank you professor," he mumbled. I didn't know what they were discussing, but I decided not to press into manners.

"Professor," I piped, "Is Severus Snape-"

"Severus is a professor at this school. Potions. You four will address him as Professor Snape and nothing else. Understand?" She asked, mostly directing it towards the boys.

"Understood." The three replied.

"What will we do about full moons?" Remus blurted out. "If we're going to be here all school year, then obviously we need-"

"Mr. Lupin, you mustn't worry. The shack is in the same place as it has always been. And I assume you three have your routine figured out by now." They nodded.

"Wait--Evans knows?" Sirius exclaimed.

"I've known since first year, actually, I caught onto it before you gits," James and Sirius seemed stunned, and Remus and I laughed. We had been betting how long it would take the guys to figure out I knew.

"And I'm assuming you three know to keep your secret just that." McGonagall interrupted. "Unregistered animagi, that's no laughing matter. I presume you know that?"

"Yes professor."

"Good." She paused, "any other questions?"

"Yes," I said. "You-know-who." She retorted at the name, the guys did as well.

"I-I can't lie to you four." At the mention of Voldemort, her eyes regained the look of loss they had had. I connected the dots to assume she had lost someone to Voldemort. Perhaps it was to be an untouched subject.

"The ministry chooses to believe You-know-who is only a rumor amongst our kind. However, he has returned. He is returning, I mean. Gaining followers, known as death eaters. Each of the followers have a "dark mark", or a tattoo of a skull of their forearm. Beware you four, and remain cautious. If the death eaters find out you have such items as a time turner, you will become a target." We sat in a tension-filled silence. Us be targets for Voldemort? Just the thought of it gave me chills.

"You must remain cautious, however, do not worry yourselves. I will help you adjust to our time, meaning if you have any questions, ask. Have any concerns? Ask. You know where my office is." The boys smirked.

"Of course we know." James mumbled, causing Sirius to nudge him in the side.

"On the bright side, this is a Hogsmede weekend, and I will make an exception for you lot. No permission slips needed." The guys pumped their fists in the air and I smiled.

"Thank you Professor."

"Now, you can all go. Unless you have any questions, that is." The guys said their thank yous and left, leaving me still in the chair.

"Something wrong, Miss Evans?" She asked, seemingly started as if she were seeing a ghost.

"It's just..." I started, "I wanted to offer some help with your dishes

"Don't lie to me Lily," she said, vanishing the cups with her wand. "Something is troubling you."

"It's not necessary me, it's a student. That boy who's friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger? Harry, I didn't quite catch his last name. He has a scar, and people stare at him, and he's a bit...jumpy? is he bullied? Or, not that it's my business of course, but does he have a bad home life? I was just concerned because-"

"Lily, oh Lily, Lily, Lily," She said, a small smile appearing. "You're just how I remembered you in your time, always caring for others. Even if you'd barely known them. I can assure you that Harry is a great boy. Quite a nick for trouble he has as well. You two both have your compassion in common of course."

"Why did Dumbledore assign those students to show me around? Dumbledore doesn't do anything without reasoning." She sighed.

"I feel he assigned those three specific students to you, Lily, because you have a lot in common with them. You're bold, much like that Weasley boy, you're wise like Granger, and with Harry..." She trailed off, as if remembering something, then she continued. "You both have your kindness and compassion." I smiled slightly.

"Thank you, Professor."

"Miss Evans, one more thing!" She said, just as my hand had met the door knob.

"Yes?"

"Green has always been one of my favorite colors...just remember that." She had a look of remembrance on her face. I don't know what she was talking about, but at the same time I don't know what she's been through. I didn't question it. Her eyes didn't break from mine.

"Okay, I will. Thanks again." And after I exited, I was immediately greeted by Hermione, Ron, and Harry.

"So, what'd McGonagall want you for?" Ron immediately asked.

Hermione scoffed, "well, they're new students obviously Ronald. They were probably discussing class matters. Besides, it's none of your business." Harry sighed, as if their arguing was a common occurrence. Judging by the was Ron smirked after being lectured by her, I could presume he might not have minded it.

"She just talked to me about how things are here." And that was the truth, for the most part.

"McGonagall has always scared me," mumbled Ron.

"Really? She's my favorite professor." They all looked at my questioningly.

"I mean, of all of the professors I've met so far."

"Oh, alright," Hermione said.

"Have you met Snape yet?" Asked Harry. I stopped in my tracks at the name. Sev...the same man who'd called me a mudblood only a short while ago. He'd abandoned me.

"Yeah, I've met him." I forced myself to keep moving.

"What do you think of him?" Hermione asked.

"He's..." I paused once more, "alright I guess."

"Pfft! Alright?" Ron exclaimed. Him and Harry burst into laughter, and even Hermione chuckled slightly.

"Okay, enough you two," Hermione said. I realized something, Harry seemed familiar to me because he looked so much like James. Him and Potter both carried themselves in similar manners, they both had the glasses and the hair, and they both had the same laugh.

"Why? What's wrong with him?" Alice, Frank, and Marlene always told me I was too quick to defend Snape, and I guess I have been for awhile.

"He's just a bit recalcitrant." Hermione explained.

"English please 'Mione." Harry said, and she swatted him in the arm.

"She means he's stubborn, headstrong even," I elaborated.

"Well Hermione, I guess you aren't the only one here who's memorized the dictionary."

"Shut up Ron." Hermione shot, and the guys laughed.

Then they basically showed me the rest of the castle, Hermione having to constantly remind the boys to stay focused. I noticed that as we walked down the corridors students continued to point and whisper at Harry, who seemed to either not notice it, or be immune to it. In other words, he seemed either oblivious to it, or used to it. They all did. Ron and Hermione seemed particularly protective of Harry. I noticed it in just little things such as the way they walked on either side of him with him in the middle, and how they shot glares at those who gossiped over him. And at the same time, they treated him like a normal individual.

"Do you play Quidditch?" Ron suddenly asked. Harry turned his head.

"Please tell us you play Quidditch!" They circled me excitedly.

"Please! Please! Please!"

"Alright, give her some space!" Hermione said. The guys giggled to themselves and stepped back, awaiting an answer.

"I don't play," they sighed in disappointment. "But! I do watch some, my friend took me to a huge tournament last year! It was amazing!"

Marlene was a Quidditch geek.

"Really?" Ron asked excitedly, "what team's your favorite?"

"Tornados." I answered honestly. I didn't follow Quidditch much, but I had no choice but to know most everything about it having Marlene as a friend. She's a beater in our year, and she's pretty great!

"Ugh!" Ron retorted, "a tornados fan? Just like Cho! Harry, you can have this one too. Disgusting." Ron walked away. I gave them both questioning looks. Harry chuckled, and ran his fingers through his hair.

Just like Potter does.

"He doesn't mean anything by it. He's just a die-hard Chudley Cannons fan." The Canons? They weren't very good in my time, perhaps the Tornados were bad in this time?

"As for me, I don't really follow it...I'm not able to watch Quidditch much in my home." He laughed slightly.

"Neither am I being as I'm Muggle-born." Hermione agreed.

"Honestly, me as well. Harry, what's your bloodline?" I asked. He seemed surprised to have been asked.

"Well, I'm a half-blood. Ron's pure-blood, but don't get him wrong. Him and his family don't care about blood type. His dad LOVES muggles! I live with them as well." He added.

A half-blood who lives with muggles? Perhaps I shouldn't ask.

"Ickle Harry! Ickle Ronnie!" A set of twins ran over, holding broomsticks in their hands. Behind them trailed the marauders.

"We're going out to the pitch, these two blokes reckon they're good at Quidditch, we're going to see just how good." Said the twin on the left.

"Come join us! See how good they think they are once they see Harry in action." Harry smirked slightly.

"Alright, I'm a bit out of practice but this'll do."

"Oh, where are my manners." The twin on the right said smoothly, while stepping towards me. "I'm George Weasley, this is my twin Fred, and Ron is no relation to us." He winked. "You must be new here."

"Uh...yeah, I am." I could see James and Sirius smirking behind him. Remus just sighed, along with Hermione and Ron.

"Maybe we could give you a tour of the boy's dorms-"

"Alright you two stop harassing the girl!" A red-headed girl stepped forward. "I'm Ginny Weasley, these are unfortunately my brothers." I shook her hand.

"Rose Mendel." I introduced.

"So we're all going out to the pitch then, want to come along Rose, Hermione?" Hermione shrugged.

"I've really got to go to the library-"

"Library, library, library! Come on 'Miome, let's have some fun!" Ron grabbed her arm and pulled her out before she could argue back.

"Those two." Harry murmured, following behind.

"Well let's go, Georgie." Fred dragged George by the arm, obviously imitating Ron and Hermione.

The marauders and I walked out together towards the pitch.

"Seems you're fitting in quite well, Rose," James said.

"Seems Molly and Arthur have had a lot of fun together over the years." I pointed out. He chuckled.

"I think it's a bit more than fun that those two had." We both laughed.

"What's this?" Sirius said in a false tone of amazement. "You two are getting along, and you're talking without hexing each other! Next thing you know Remus will turn into a lady's man and I'll be a polite boy who respects the rules!"

"Shut up." I muttered, punching him in the arm.

"Geez! I think this Rose is even thornier than our dearest Lily!"

"Black, you have five seconds to run." He smirked, and ran like a madman to the field.

"Idiot," I said, Remus and James chuckled.

"I better go supervise." Remus ran to catch up with him, leaving James and I side by side.

"Evans, can I just say one thing?"

"Yeah?" I asked, making sure my wand was in my pocket. It was. I was armed to hex him incase he said anything Potter-like.

"You know Harry over there?" He asked. I glanced over at the lot, Harry and Ron we're dancing with broomsticks while Sirius and the Weasley twins rooted them on. Hermione and Remus say in the stands chatting and laughing with each other.

"Yeah, we talked a bit. He's decent. Why?" Though I suspected the answer.

"It's just...we think-"

"You think he's your kid." I answered. He shrugged.

"How is it that you know everything?"

"It didn't take me long to connect the dots. You two are practically twins." He laughed slightly, but something seemed to be bothering him.

"What is it?" I asked. He shrugged.

"You notice the scar too, right?" I nodded.

"Just...keep an eye out for him? Something about him---I don't know. He seems to attract trouble." James looked concerned.

"I guess he takes from you then."

"I'm serious Evans."

"No you aren't, Sirius is over there, broomstick fencing with a Weasley twin."

"Evans-"

"Potter!" I interrupted. "I get it! I'll try to learn more about him for you if that's what you want."

"Thank you." He didn't even add an "Evans" to it. Wow, maybe he has changed.

Haha, very funny.

"Oi!" Sirius shouted from the distance, "stop flirting you two get over here!"

"Shut up we aren't flirting!" I shouted back, making my way to the field. The others laughed, and we ran to the field.

"So, Dominic thinks he's good, eh?" George said, smirking at James.

"Yeah!" Sirius shouted, "he's phenomenal."

"I've gotta say, he's pretty decent." Remus agreed.

"Rose, any thoughts?" Asked Ron.

"I can't stand him, but I can't deny that he's the best I've seen." James laughed sheepishly.

"So Harry's good, is he?" Sirius mumbled in a bored tone.

"Good?! They let him on the house team in his first year because he's so outstanding," Ron exclaimed.

"He's amazing!" Hermione backed up.

"The best we've seen!" Fred and George exclaimed in unison.

"Anything to add Ginny?" Ron asked. She shrugged with a smirk.

"He's amazing, what else do I say?" Harry laughed.

"Just scrimmage already! Three on three, I'll ref!" Sirius offered.

"Why, too scared to play?" Ron smirked.

"No, it's just that if I asked Ginny to ref it I think she'd kill me."

"He isn't wrong!" Ginny announced, which resulted in laughter.

"Chasers, keepers, and seekers on each side; guess we'll have to forget beaters for now." Ginny said.

"I'll be seeker for my side, Dominic you can be chaser for my side, and Ron can be Keeper. What about your side?" Ginny said.

"I'll be seeker obviously," Harry said, "Fred can be keeper, and George can be chaser. Got it?"

"Got it." Everyone repeated.

Ginny grinned, "MOUNT YOUR BROOMS!" Everyone listened, Sirius tosses the snitch into the air.

"WHO'S READY FOR A GAME OF QUIDDITCH?" Harry shouted.

"YEAH!"

"Let the game begin!" Sirius shouted, and they all flew into the air.
