You woke up to constant spamming from the others like it was such a big deal if you were to miss it. It was just one hangout, why did they need to have you there?

You just groaned carrying on towards Xiangling's store. Not like you had a problem coming here at all, this restaurant was pretty popular on this block and around the world.

The good thing was Xiangling is a close friend who from time to time invites you and the group over when it closes which was pretty fun.

"hi xiangling how's work been?" you smiled greeting her as you stepped into the restaurant. you looked around trying to spot your group of friends but not one of them were found.

"ooh hi y/n! are you here for the reservation of ... operation one?" she tilted her head confused reading the title hu tao gave her.

"what? don't mind it probably just another one of hu tao's weird pranks," you shook it off and xiangling just nodded leading you to your table.

I get spammed to be here but I'm the earliest one? gotta love my friends.

"xiangling you have the wrong table," an unfamiliar voice spoke up beside you. you looked up from your phone to find a short dark blue with green streaks haired male.

"nope I'm pretty sure I have the right table for you. venti set it right here," xiangling coreected. he didn't say another word and let xiangling walk off.

"oh yeah a word from venti if you leave you're banned from almond tofu...? I'm not sure what that means but I just wanted to warn you!" Xiangling gave him a quick smile before walking away.

"that..." he muttered under his breath finally figuring out the dumb plan. he had no choice but to sit down in front of you awkwardly avoiding eye contact.

"um ... hi?" you waved not knowing what was going on but all you could figure out from the scene was that you definitely got stood up.

"are you perhaps a part of venti's friend group?" you questioned and he looked up finally making eye contact.

"No," he responded dryly but there was a certain tone to his voice as if all his words were final.

there was a loud silence between the two of you when thankfully xiangling came back with two plates of food. she set down almond tofu and your favorite food from the menu.

"hey thanks and all but I'm broke," you frowned. "oh don't worry! someone already payed for it," xiangling nodded and then walked away once again busy with customers.

you were going to walk out and blow out at the others but the free food in front of you stopped yourself from doing that and it seemed to be the case for him as well.

"what's your name?" you started a conversation swallowing your food. "xiao," he replied back.

you guys were back to your normal silence as you just sighed eating your food while thinking about it.

for some reason, the name xiao was familiar like you've heard it before. you just can't remember.

"c'mon y/n where's your extrovert side at?" hu tao had a pair of binoculars looking through the window hiding behind a bush with Venti, itto, yanfei, aether, lumine and childe.

"honestly why did we choose xiao? could've been me," childe shrugged getting a hit in the side. "because xiao is perfect for y/n he's literally her type," hu tao answered.

"hutao... y/n literally said she's attracted to anyone funny and treats her right. xiao isn't even saying a single word," yanfei furrowed her eyebrows.

"shh! xiao can treat her good he's actually pretty gentle okay?" hu tao continued to peek at the two.

"is it just me or do I feel like someone's staring at us?" you mentioned looking behind you but not turning your head not wanting to let them know.

"yeah It's just venti and the others," xiao shrugged realizing the stares a few minutes ago. he didn't know what they were doing but it wasn't his problem he wanted to eat his tofu and leave.

"they're trying to set us up aren't they?" you began to laugh thankful for the thought but you weren't sure what to think of the boy named xiao in front of you.

he was good-looking but he wasn't talking as much and you weren't really attracted. "wanna get back at them?" you proposed and xiao raised his eyebrows.

"sure," he accepted he didn't know what your plan was but anything to make venti suffer.

"okay so like I pretend I despise your guts like I pretend to throw water on you like those dramatic movies," you explained.

"okay," he nodded he finished his food and all he had to do was play along with your little game. right after he was gonna go home and completely forget you, right?

"why does she look mad?" yanfei pointed out. "maybe xiao said something ? he's pretty insensitive," hu tao hummed taking a closer look.

that's when you stood up banging your hands on the table loudly according to the plan.

"fuck you," you yelled taking the cup of water. you were suppose to miss but act like you hit him and then walk away to go home but sadly,

you didn't miss.
