Warning: Shippers! Whoa! Whoa! Easy...Easy....
We are a quarter away from the finale. Shippers, are we still breathing? This episode has a lot going on, but I want to focus more on the couples. But before that....
Special mention to Lee Ik Jun for winning the following awards:ย
Funniest Doctor Award: The 'Parasite' scene parody and the closing the car door under the rain scene: who didn't find that amusing? Come on...
Dancer Daddy of the Decade: The goodbye scene with U Ju.
Best Pose in a Band Practice Award: Who didn't notice that?ย
Reflector of the Year Award: Realizing that he didn't know everything he thought he knew helped him view others positively and paved a way for self-improvement.ย
Lastly, The Best Oppa Award: His efforts to help his sister more are heartwarmingly commendable. These scenes truly lightened up our emotions after seeing those stressful scenes of life and death situations in the OR, ER, PICU and wards.
Now, the ships:
ย No 1: The MV WinterGarden. This ship struck an iceberg back in episode 7, but it seemed that the damage was not that bad because it is still afloat. Gyeo Eul being with another man is working to her advantage. It probably helped her take her mind off from impressing Jeong Won too much. Who didn't feel that romantic excitement when he gave Gyeo Eul a sincere smile of approval when a patient's mother hugged her? And that coffee scene...I would like to think that it was from Jeong Won, given through the same patient's mother. I mean, what is with the wink, right?...Anyways...Just indulge me on this. For the WinterGarden shippers, these signs are enough, for the mean time, to make this ship stay above waters. Destination still unclear, but it's not zero visibility anymore, and it seems to be getting somewhere.๐ฅฐ
Ship No 2: The MV InsiderGhost. I have been shipping this couple since episode 1, and I don't (and don't want to) see Song Hwa with anybody else but Ik Jun. We may not know what the 'rain' thing was between them, but there was definitely something in it. Ik Jun's smile when he was told it is raining, and Song Hwa being nostalgic while watching the rain through her office window, toyed with our imaginations up until this moment. And it has to be sujebi...so there must be something in that soup, too...That invitation for a drive from Ik Jun made me think more about that something. So, what we know now is that they created a memory apart from the squad during a drive in a heavy rain. How romantic was that?! And those small caring gestures from Ik Jun...(the invitation to eat pollack stew at the cafeteria, when he grabbed Song Hwa's coat when she left in a hurry at the Sujebi place, when he drove her back to the hospital during the rain, and clinging on to her more than the usual, because he's not 'so busy'). It may seem nothing, since they are bestfriends for 20 years, but then again, just indulge me. I want to believe this ship is heading to the direction we want it to go. (Remember Ik Jun's reaction when Chae Hong told him he likes Song Hwa? He was speechless for a couple of seconds before he said "Everyone likes Song Hwa." Then, that could mean him included.) And you might have noticed how Song Hwa looked at Ik Jun during the band practice...Aahhg! I'm melting!!!๐
Ship No. 3: MV ByuntaeBidulgi. Iceberg right ahead! We don't want this ship to capsize, but Jun Wan and Ik Sun talking about their future doesn't look promising. Her desire to get her doctorate, and Jun Wan's mention of marriage were like the North and South polesโvery much apart. We may all have already concluded that her failed previous relationship has had a negative effect on her, but we, of course, do not want to see the negativity into fruition. Jun Wan's question about the separation meaning breaking up is still unanswered, but obviously, gave Ik Sun something to deeply ponder about. We'll just have to wait and see.๐
Ship No. 4: MV JungSuRoSa. I want them together since Mr. Jung's wife died on episode 2. They don't have issues with each other, so I think nothing could and should stop them. So...Sail away!๐ฅฐ
The Playlist: Met You by Chance by Song Gol Mae. The title obviously speaks of Song Hwa and Ik Jun's first meeting at the interview. And the lyrics? It may well be what Ik Jun was feeling at that moment. Another song on our LSS playlist....
We have enough episodes to rewatch and songs to memorize, so we're good until next Thursday, right?
Rating: 10,000 won, 4 cigarettes, 1 lighter....
