We arrived in a crumpled heap on the floor of an ancient city. The bright sun was a little surprising, then again, it could have been just me, after all we had just gone through the void!! A beautiful aquamarine sea glittered before us. Turtles and fish swimming around in, surprisingly the clearest water I had ever seen, coral glittering on the sea floor. We all turned around and gasped. Behind us was a landscape that glittered in the sunlight. Beautiful trees lined the southern part of the island, where it was wintertime. Mary had warned us to stay in the ruins, because there were the Skull dungeons there, where the worst criminals in the land where imprisoned, and because in order to keep them out, it was wintertime around the dungeons.
"Why don't you use those little powers of yours, Foster, to get us out of here?" asked Keefe. I was annoyed by him in only the first day, he was more annoying as Percy! Ok, that's an exaggeration. No one was more annoying that Percy, though Leo and Keefe come close second and third.
"What do you mean, Keefe? We just got here." said Sophie.
"Apparently, that got there two." Keefe hesitated, then pointed up. I looked up, and agreed with Keefe, she needed to use those powers of hers to get us out. I now understood why Keefe was so afraid and wanted to leave.
A twenty-foot-tall statue of an old king was alive! Looks like what Mary said was true, 'the materials probably have a protection mechanism to protect them from getting stolen, so watch out'.
It was a little scary for me to think that beings could hold so much power at once, ok, a lot scary, but I wasn't going to admit that. Sophie and her friends out matched us by so much, because of their abilities. It was scary for me when Mary said there was almost a full out war between the demigods, Nierce, and Elves. Then again, there was a war between the Nierce and Elves, though Mary thinks it wasn't a war, war, more like a word - war type thing.
The statue had a bronze body, his tunic and pants covered by armor and helmet were solid gold as well as his adornments, and a face made of rock. His expression said: Why? Couldn't you have left me alone? No? Then I'll just have to kill you now. I now understood how we were supposed to get the materials, we were going to have to fight the giant for some of its things, (which looked like they could be taken off).
I calculated how much gold and rock we would have to gather to make the sword the book described. I was surprisingly a little of the things the giant had. The hard thing was, getting especially the rock, and materials in general off of the giant without getting killed. The problem stumped me. Which was a problem for me to admit. It was hard for any child of Athena to admit defeat, much less being stumped. It was very surprising, since this was basically architecture, my strong suit.
"Why Do you hooligans come to steal?" asked the statue.
"We are here to take some materials from here to save some crazy world!" said Keefe. The Giant angered at that. He stood up to his full height and tried to grab at Keefe. Luckily, Sophie shoved him out of the way just in time. Keefe started taunting the giant. Sophie told me he was smart, but he was very slow. The giant seemed to get angry swinging his arms, causing the ruins to start crumbling, until he contemplated what Keefe had said.
"What are you doing again?" asked the giant. I answered that time.
"We are trying to find gold and special rock to make the Sword of Justic to put it with the Stone of the Great and heal a deity and restore balance to the world. But we'll need your help." I said diplomatically. I decided, that if we were going to do this, we might as well ask.
"I appreciate your kindness, miss" he glared pointedly at Keefe. "I have some that will help you." He bent down and grabbed a large rock from his pocket, as well as a large gold peace. "I hope this will help you."
"Thank you so much for your kindness." I said. The giant bowed, went to his post, and went silent. The others stared at me at shock. Once I got over my own, I glared at Keefe. "What were you thinking?!!? We almost got killed!" I yelled.
Keefe looked terrified for a second. Then he turned to Sophie. "Let's go"
Sophie grabbed our hands and ran like a maniac. While most hands were free, Me and Biana had to carry the stones, so only one of our hands were free. We ripped through the void. The black space endless. I heard a thunderclap, and we were in California, looking at a very surprised Leo and Calypso.
