"We can't tell anyone about this."

"Why not? This is huge! People should know! Elvis can talk to people!"

Ashton and I were standing at his door, and I was about to leave when he told me that he couldn't wait to tell the others and every person he comes in contact with. Elvis and Jesse just left us about ten minutes ago. "He only picks who he appears to, and he first appeared to me since he wanted me to deliver a message. He chose you because... well, I guess because he can relate to you since you're a young man. And...  we're special. I'm not saying everyone else isn't, it's just... he and Jesse can't quote-on-quote 'live' with people. That's why he wants me to relay his thoughts and feelings to Priscilla and her granddaughters when the time comes. And maybe... you can be a second witness to Elvis and Jesse being there and telling them this."

"But..." he protested, but he shoved his hands into his jeans pockets and shook his head. "Man... this is nuts... I really want to tell the world about this, Ava. I mean, we just hung out with Elvis and Jesse Presley for the past couple of hours. You know what? I'm going back to work with you. Now that I'm used to 'em being around, I feel a whole lot better."

I pressed my lips together, thinking. He got passed the shock of it a lot better than I did. I went a bit crazy the next day. Ashton passed that state. "Well, but, you went home sick. Just do what I did and take the day off."

"What? Heck no! Not when I could see 'em again."

"Just call their names, and they'll come if they feel like it. But don't be selfish about it," I added when he opened his mouth to call for them. I knew he was doing that. He let out a breath.

"Okay, okay, don't be selfish. But I'm fine! More than fine! I'm comin' with you. Plus, I have to get my car."

He was more stubborn than me. Giving up, we both left his apartment. As we headed back to Graceland in my car, I noticed Ashton grinning ear to ear. It was pretty cool that I could feel how happy he was. And he didn't look sick anymore, just happy. If he glowed like a spirit, he would be blinding.

"So, you said something about me being an extra witness when the Presleys are here," Ashton said, and we came close to Graceland.

"Yes. I have to relay what Elvis wants me to, and they're going to want to know how I know. I'll have to tell them, and you can be a second witness that it's all true."

"It's crazy that we're even going to meet Elvis's family, but tell them that he's been lurkin' around Graceland and that we've seen and talked to 'im? And his brother Jesse? Even with me sayin' that it's all true, I don't think they'll believe it."

"Elvis thinks that they will after some convincing. We have to ease into it." I let out a breath. "And time's running out. Three weeks will go by quickly."

"Two weeks and three days to be exact."

"Thanks," I said dryly. "I'm shaking in my shoes because of this. Like you said, these are the Presleys, Elvis's family. And Priscilla... she was his girlfriend for eight years, and then his wife for six. She knows him more than anyone who's still alive right now. Maybe besides Jerry Schilling who was his best friend since Elvis was nineteen."

I turned the car onto the property and headed to the back. "Maybe just tell 'er things that only Elvis will know," Ashton suggested. "Like a secret they kept with only each other. You know, to prove it all. I just wish Elvis wasn't against showing himself to her."

"I don't want to be responsible for the death of an old woman. I mean, she may look great for her age, but she's still nearing eighty. She could have a heart attack."

"She would be with him, then."

I gasped and looked over at Ashton. "Oh my gosh, I can't believe you said that!"

He shrugged. "It's true. Elvis already has most of his family with him. He has his grandparents, his parents, brother, grandson, and now, his daughter. Minus all the extended family, he just has his wife and three grandchildren left."

I parked the car at the employee building, near Candice and Brenda's cars. "That's true, but still. It's kinda morbid."

We excited the car and went into the building. We set our stuff down and got our pails together and headed to the house. Once in, we stopped in the back entryway.

"You feel that?" I asked.

"I do. His presence is all over the place. And now, I know why you saw all those spiders. Elvis was popping up everywhere, making you scream, huh?"

"Correct. Let's find the others and see what we can do."

It was so nice to have Ashton in on this. I felt a large burden lifted off my shoulders, the burden of keeping this to myself. I told Karley, and she believed me, and I told that chef, and he thought I was crazy, even after he saw Jesse standing in those trees. Ashton, he was all for it after he got passed the shock of it all. It was amazing how quickly he got the hang of being in the company of the spirits of a famous man and his brother.

We made our way to the Jungle Room, and when we did, we saw two glowing figures. Both Ashton and I let out a yelp before we could stop ourselves. "What in the blazes...?" we heard from the other room, and in came Brenda, and right as she did, the two spirit men vanished. "What in the world are you two doin' back? I mean, I expected you back, Ava, but Ashton, I thought you were sick."

"I'm better. I was just... um... I guess it's lack of sleep. I'll be fine. I was actually..."

Right then, Jesse appeared behind Brenda a few feet back. Ashton and I let out a gasp and covered our mouths. "What?" Brenda asked as she turned her head behind her, but Jesse disappeared right when she did so. She turned back to face us, and there he was again. He snickered, and Brenda stiffened.

"You two heard that, right?"

"Um..." Ashton started and cleared his throat, trying not to blurt out what was really going on. He looked at me. "I heard nothin'. Ava?"

I shook my head, trying my best not to say something, too, as Jesse was grinning. It was strange that Brenda couldn't feel Jesse behind her. "Nope. Maybe you're just sensitive to the noises of this place."

Her brows creased. "Why are you two actin' so strange, huh? Why..." She looked at the floor and saw the glow, but there was a shadow in it, coming from behind her. She gasped and turned around instantly. Jesse was gone. She looked back at us. "What the heck...?"

"Are you okay, Brenda?" Ashton asked. "See somethin'?"

"Um..." she let out. "You know what? Nevermind. If you're well enough to work, Ashton, you and Ava split work between the basement and the guest rooms."

She left, rattled. Ashton and I waited until Brenda was out of sight and ear to let out laughter. I said, "You know, Jesse reminds me of you. The jokester. No wonder you two got along great. I mean, aside from the fact that he's Elvis's famous twin."

"I like to think that all three of us are jokesters. Elvis liked his pranks, too."

"He did. Okay, let's get to work. And... Jesse? That was funny, but, really, stop messing around."

"Aw, hey, the guy's just havin' some fun. He was never alive to do it."

"Thanks, Ashton," we both heard, but saw nothing.

"You know? That would've creeped me out if I didn't know who said it and have met the guy already."

I laughed. "Let's jest get to work, okay? And remember, don't tell anyone about this unless Elvis or Jesse say it's okay to, or they choose to appear to someone themselves. And, really, nobody."

"I get it, I get it. It's gonna be hard, though."

"Welcome to my life now. I'm just glad that you're in on this with me."

Ashton stared at me for a moment as he smirked cutely. "So... those two guys have the hots for ya, huh? It's like I said before—I have some pretty tough competition since you're majorly crushin' on me."

I knew both Elvis and Jesse were either witnessing this conversation or they were just hearing it. "Ashton, we don't have to get into this now."

"I'm just sayin'. Yeah, I could never compete with Elvis—no man ever could—so... I guess we'll see what happens." He held up his pale. "Gotta get to work. See ya."

He left me, and I stared after him until he was out of sight as he headed to the guest rooms in the northern wing of the house. Maybe Elvis had a point in not wanting to add more drama to my life at the moment. Now that Ashton could see them, there could be more of a competition, especially since Jesse already kissed me, professed his feelings, and I went and professed mine to his brother.

I groaned as I headed down to the basement. I didn't want those three guys feuding over me while I was trying to figure out how to approach meeting the Presleys and tell them what I had to.

Thankfully, by the end of the week, Brenda and Candice didn't clue into what was going on with Ashton and me. Since that instance with Brenda, Jesse and Elvis didn't try to intentionally scare people. Well, Jesse was the main one who liked to do that, even after Elvis told him not to time and again. But recently... they were seen when it wasn't intentional, and it was by one of the tourists who came to visit the mansion. It was all over the internet.

"They even took a picture!" I hollered as I sat in my apartment and had my laptop on the coffee table in front of me as I sat on the sofa. "Oh, gosh... I don't think this has ever happened before."

Ashton sat next to me as he had his to-go box. We stopped at Gladys's Diner after our Friday work shift, but we didn't stay since we wanted to get back and check into all this. It was actually at the diner that we heard someone talking about the ordeal.

"The picture is legit, too," he said as he opened his box and took out a thick burger. He took a bite from it. The smell of our food filled the apartment.

"Why wouldn't it be?" I pointed to it as my own to-go box sat next to my laptop, unopened. "This guy spotted Elvis walking over by the stables."

"Or it could've been Jesse. They never said nothin' yet." He finished chewing, then said louder, "Hey, guys! Who did this kid capture, huh? Was it Elvis or Jesse by the stables? Or... was it someone else?" I looked over at him with a question in my eyes. "What? It could've been his grandfather or someone as a young man. He probably looked similar. Or it could've been Vernon Presley. I've seen younger pictures of 'im, and... well, let's just say that Elvis got a lot of his facial traits from his dad."

He took another bite from his burger as I stared at the picture. It was of, yes, the stables, and near the entrance was a white figure who looked like he was walking in, with his legs in mid-stride as the picture was taken. But the head was facing the camera.

"No, that's Elvis. This kid got a lucky picture of Elvis's spirit, and..."

"And now, Graceland's gonna be givin' tours to not just Elvis fans but ghost hunters. Heck, the Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures crew may come here because of this. I'm surprised that they hadn't already. People have reported paranormal stuff goin' on here since Elvis died."

"Elvis Enterprises never agreed to have those people come here because it's out of respect for Elvis and his family, as well as his fans. They wanted Graceland to be labeled as Elvis's home and a historic landmark, not one of the most haunted places in America."

Ashton chewed his burger, but still said, "Well, tough beans now. I bet at least some amateur ghost huntin' group is gonna go through Graceland any day from now on."

I groaned. "Oh my gosh, this is horrible timing, when Priscilla and her girls will be here in two weeks. And I can imagine what Elvis Week will be like in August. I don't want my first experience of it to be infiltrated with people trying to go ghost hunting at Graceland."

"Well, you already know a couple ghosts, so there's that. We're going to be the only two people during Elvis Week who actually know Elvis right now."

He had a point, but it still didn't make me feel any better. "I just hate that this will ruin Graceland's reputation."

He saw the frown on my face and stopped eating for a moment. "Hey, it's gonna be okay. Yeah, people will get excited about it, but once we have a word with our spirit pals, they won't show themselves again."

"I wouldn't count on it," we heard, and we both looked up and saw Jesse standing there in the middle of the room, and he glowed as usual. Ashton and I had become so accustomed to him and Elvis appearing that it didn't faze us anymore. "We are well-aware of what's goin' on, and... Elvis... he's pretty ashamed at the moment."

"Of course he is!" I exclaimed as I pointed to my computer screen. "This picture is viral now, and it was taken yesterday! Graceland will now be a haunted mansion, not Elvis's mansion."

Jesse smirked in an amused way, and that only irritated me more. My chest pricked with it. "Ava, the mansion has always been haunted, by me, Elvis and our family members. They all just have chosen not to reveal themselves."

"He has a point," Ashton added, and I shut my laptop.

"Okay, okay, look..." I said, trying not to get too upset about this, "I'm just concerned that this will be all the people will remember when Graceland is mentioned. It's going to ruin its name. And..." I looked up at Jesse. "You appearing near Gladys's Diner didn't help this, either. Maybe Elvis was seen on accident, but you were intentionally seen. More than once."

"Hold on, don't go blamin' him," said Ashton, and I stood up. "People have been seein' apparitions at Graceland for years."

"I'm going to Graceland right now and put this all to bed."

"You know you can't do that, Ava," Ashton said, and I hated that he was right since it was against our job rules to go there after our shifts and without a paid tour. He opened the laptop again. "Okay, let's see..." He looked at the screen. "Well, okay... someone just posted a comment on the article saying that they're going to try and do an investigation during a tour on Monday. I say we be a part of that."

"I don't want any part of Graceland's reputation being tarnished," I said, folding my arms. "I can't stop you, but I'm not going."

"Maybe you can tell these people what fools they're bein'," Jesse suggested. "I've seen it before, people 'huntin ghosts' with their fancy technology. It was done in the hotel I appeared in down in the older part of Memphis. And I have to say, those gadgets are somethin' else, but... the people go crazy when there's a little bump or knock or whatnot. I like to throw 'em a bone and give 'em a little whisper sometimes, but other than that, it's all bologna."

"Wait, you actually help them?" I asked, an edge to my voice.

"It's because I feel sorry for 'em," he said. "Elvis told me not to get involved, but I couldn't help myself."

"At least Elvis has some sense."

Jesse's brows pushed together, and he faced me, his glow dimming, and Ashton could see that, too. He about stepped in to stop this, but Jesse snapped, "Hey, I was never able to have a life and have fun like you humans can. If messin' with those silly ghost hunter people and spookin' the occasional person like your coworker Brenda is the way to do it, then I'm gonna do it."

"You're just adding to the desire these people have to destroy the reputation of a historical place," I shot. "That hotel is so beautiful and has incredible history, but now, thanks to you, it has paranormal history. Gosh, that's why I hated those ghost hunter shows. They ruin the reputation of dozens of beautiful, historical places."

"Before you came to Graceland, you were a pure skeptic, weren't chya?"

"And what's wrong with that?"

"Nothin'. You just seem like a hypocrite now since you've been involved with the paranormal since you stepped foot onto Graceland. And what about agreein' to tell the Presleys what Elvis wants 'em to know, huh? That's just feedin' the fact that Graceland is haunted by Elvis. After you tell Priscilla and her granddaughters that he told ya things, the only thing they'll be able to think after you and Ashton reveal everythin' is that the house is haunted."

My heart raced with irritation that I couldn't come up with an argument to that. He had a fair point that I never thought of until now.

"I've told Elvis this, but he just says that Priscilla will just boil it down to her beloved husband watchin' over the place."

"And that's what it is!" I hollered. "It's only that, not..."

"Not haunted? Noises, voices, sprits walkin' around... Tell me it's not."

I glared at him, my lips in a frown. Ashton came in and put a hand on my shoulder. "Okay, okay, simmer down you two. Look, whether any of us like it or not, Graceland was and is labeled as haunted. Now, I say that we plan on havin' some fun with this investigation that these people are gonna do."

"Like how?" Jesse asked, interested, and I walked away from the two guys who had a common trait of messing with people.

"Overload 'em with stuff. They won't believe it."

"They will, too," I argued. "If you give them a lot of evidence, then they'll just say that Graceland is more haunted than anyone expected."

"Which it is," Ashton said. "Look, I'm gonna do this, Ava, and you can join me or not."

"I think we should scare them outta their minds," Jesse suggested. "They'll never want to step foot there again, and maybe never wanna investigate again. They'll be too stunned to even reveal what they experienced."

"Good point," Ashton said, grinning. "I trust that you'll throw 'em everythin' you've got."

"You bet I will," Jesse said, grinning, and the guys bumped each other's shoulders.

There was no way I could stop this. What did Elvis think? I knew he was listening, he just never appeared. He would be against it if he felt badly about being seen. He probably didn't want the reputation of his home tarnished, either.
